My actual complaint to LA Fitness. Hi Holly- Im really disgusted with how this was handled. On Friday 4/10 and per the below, I swam and discovered a large amount of feces in the pool. As an added fact to the story below, another member at that time, did say with certainty, that he witnessed a swimmer having an accident in the pool. This gentlemen was seen getting out of the pool and tracking feces to the mens room. Minutes later, I had a conversation with the cleaning attendant. He also made many gesture to assure me that he knew it was feces. Remember, soiled footprint led from the pool to the mens room. This was the reason for the cleaning guy and I to meet as we both conversed while he was mopping. And again, when the cleaning guy and I met with the front desk reception person, the conversation clearly was "theres poo in the pool." Flash to Sunday, around noon time. I met with the manager on duty and his investigation led him to believe that it was leafs. And upon adding the cleaning guy to the conversation, the cleaning guy conveniently became convinced that the debris were leafs. Funny how his memory had changed. How does a person track "leaf" marks while getting out of a pool. Even with dirty slippers, how would they lead "muddy" tracks from water to shower room but no tracks from the locker room to the pool? These slippers became muddy from a pool then? Do leafs normally smear at the bottom of a pool? Do leafs normally look like "rolled" dates? If the cleaning man did think they were leafs, then why did he bring it to the attention of the front desk? Your staff chose to take the easy route and convinced themselves that it was leafs. Im not very smart, but I know the difference between feces and anything else. And I know what the Mt. Prospect LA Fitness location did- they left bits of feces in the water and pretended that is was leafs. And then over the weekend, they knowingly let dozens of people swim in the pool. All they had to do was to remove the debris and shock the pool. Instead, the staff chose to let dozens of people swim in a toilet bowl. On this Friday afternoon, me and several members noticed that there was poo in the water. No one on the LA Fitness team did anything about it. Now, I realized that nothing will be done. Makes me really think about this gym. By the way and to be fair, on Sunday at the alleged location, there were still visible bits at the bottom of the pool and some of it were actually leafs.

Worst of worst staff!!! they just just will not help you! Before reading my review, i was a loyal member of LA fitness since December 2014. Here is my experience with LA fitness, My wife signed up for personal training which is 565$ monthly and we were not informed about the contract of 1yr while signing it, couple of months later my wife got a job in Utah then i reached out to LA fitness about it, then they said i have to pay for whole year no matter i use the training sessions, i asked them how do you expect a customer to pay for something which is not required anymore they simply answered there is no other way i can do in system. then i had to go thru the whole agreement, in which it states if at all there is no LA fitness in the vicinity of 25 mile radius personal training can be cancelled and refunded to the customer which i showed to the manager, then he said that training sessions are registered under my name instead of my wife, now in order to cancel this out i have to either move out of this state or i have to change my address or pay 50% fine which is around 3000$ and get no sessions out of it. So i decide to change my address and had to cancel my membership with LA fitness. I think there will be a way to resolve this with higher managers but the local managers here are unwilling to help, and this is not the only gym in Illinois, i joined another club! i lost around 10 sessions of my personal training which is worth around 500$ as they say they had to cancel my membership and that eventually will make lose of my sessions. Stupid so Stupid !.

Even though the Glenview/Northbrook location is closer to home for me, I would often go here. Both facilities are very similar. The other location does look a little cleaner and more inviting, possibly owing to the other being a newer location (by at least one year) than this one, partly owing to the demographics. [Mount Prospect is lower-middle class, Glenview is upper-middle class, Northbrook is more bourgie. Having lived in both Mount Prospect and Northbrook at different times, I can make those calls.] While this facility does not have as many cardiovascular machines (they do not have "crazy stairs" for one), they do have a much, much larger weight room, with, by my estimate, probably 1.5X as many weights. Unlike the Glenview/Northbrook location, I am usually able to find a place in the weight room with the weights I may be looking for. For that reason, I prefer to drive the extra distance and go here for extended weight-lifting sessions. Also, though I have not tried the juice bar at either location, this one appears to be operated by the mighty-fine Korean bubble tea chain Liquid Fusion, so points in favor? Though I am sure the juice bar is nowhere near the level of their freestanding stores...

Facilities and environment is excellent. However, was cheated on fees for the personal training program. When my wife enrolled, we were told it would be $55 per session instead of $60 if we sign up for 6 months. My wife didnt check the figures properly and signed where it was actually $60. When we realized and challenged them, the manager had quit and the new manager explained that the incentive was $55 if we sign up after 6 months. Also, the trainer cancelled classes sometimes without notice and my wife had cancelled classes, even 1 hr before the scheduled time without any issues. Once we notified that we are not extending the cheating program beyond 6 months, the whole attitude changed. My wife had to cancel class on the day of appointment itself and they said since its less than 24 hrs, the appointment is gone. So, if you are signing up for the personal fitness program, be very careful with the bills. Their managers keep changing every month and the next one will never honor the commitments of the previous one. They are like pimps trying to sell the personal fitness program

I joined this fitness club the day it opened and it was amazing. Nice pool, cardio machines, free weights and best staff you could ever imagine. But with time everything has deteriorated here. The friendly and experienced staff changed to inexperienced ones. I am not saying they are not polite but they just dont care. They will not guide you even if they will see you are doing some exercise the wrong way and may hurt yourself. It was not like this before here. Now coming to the worst part, you go and talk to someone to register and they would say "...alrite, $39.99 /month" then you go in after two days talk to someone else they would say "..alrite $29.99 /month" are you kidding me. Some guy is paying more someone is paying less, same plan though. I think there are better clubs in this area with good amenities and super cool staff. So I moved on to a new club close by and best decision so far. 1 star for nice pool.
