I have been training with Victory Martial Arts Academy for a number of years now and it has changed my life in so many ways. The first time training martial arts can be a little intimidating, but I felt right at home and was welcomed by the students as well as the instructors. They truly have a family atmosphere in the gym that you can feel right away. There really are no egos in the gym. That is something that has stayed true over time across the locations, is the humility and friendliness of the instructors and higher level students. People there really want to help you grow and improve. On top of a welcoming environment the instructors are very knowledgeable and focus on improving your technique in a fun way. They take you through individual as well as non-intimidating partner drills that boost your skill level as well as improve your level of fitness. The instructors really take the time to make sure your are performing the moves correctly and provide a lot of personal attention. They try to show you what is most effective for the sport of MMA as well as self defense. The instructors utilize many styles such as kickboxing, muy thai, brazilian jui-jitsu, boxing, wrestling, karate, and many others and give you a well-rounded martial arts training experience. Another large part of what they do is improve your level of fitness. The drills that they take you through are tough and make you push your limits but leave you feel amazing afterwards. As if you really accomplished something. My own body transformed from training here and have seen many others transform their bodies as well just from training a few times a week. As a student, Victory has benefited my life in so many ways. The first two weeks are free so you can test is out! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their level of fitness, take up a new hobby, participate in competition, and anything in between. There are even kids classes as well. Victory has locations all over the Chicagoland area but the Arlington Heights address is 764 W Algonquin Road Arlington Heights Il 60005.

I have been attending the striking class twice a week for a month and a half now. I am a beginner to any type of trained fighting..or MMA, though i have an athletic history. I am also a female. I was very nervous at first, but i quickly became acclimated. The environment is very positive and MMA in general is very grounding...in the moment. I am using what i learn to help improve all aspects of my life by gaining discipline, confidence in my intent and movements , and strength. Alex is always upbeat (even on saturday mornings) and really creates a great space to come to and escape daily life for the betterment of self. Everyone seems to be at different levels, even body type, but the respect is always there- which i appreciate because again, i am a beginner- so i feel very comfortable in going there and just doing my best and pushing myself always to improve. I look forward to the hard work each class, i honor it...it is strengthening me. Alex is approachable, respectful, informative, professional yet personal, and clearly knows what he is talking about. The heavy focus on technique i feel to be crucial because then when the focus shifts to sparing less cooperatively, it seems the muscle memory kicks in. This is the only training I have received, but it does truly feel to be taught as an art form at this location which is exactly what i was looking for, being an artist myself. I would absolutely recommend training here with Alex and the group of individuals who attend his classes- beginner or not, it is a great environment for all ages and skill levels.

I know it can be daunting entering an MMA dojo, but if youre reading this review, you have thought about maybe joining. Correct? Look no further than Victory Mixed Martial Arts. Sensei Alex at Victory Arlington Heights, is the MAN! He and the rest of the Victory instructors make everyone who joins the classes feel welcome. No matter what your skill level is, they are patient with your learning curb. It is a SAFE AND CLEAN environment -- in addition to the encouragement, support, and camaraderie being second to none. Not only will you learn practical self defense and get into tremendous physical condition, but the relationships you build with your teammates and instructors is simply awesome. Its not just punches and kicks though! The instructors, at the end of each class, teach us important life lessons with nightly Mat Chats. Our Sensei imparts wisdom on how best to tackle the practical challenges life throws at us, and thereby ensuring we are training our body as well as our mind. Plus, there is a standing offer of a FREE TWO WEEK TRIAL before giving you the option to register. If you dont think its for you after a couple weeks, theres no pressure if you wanna walk away. No strings attached. In addition to the Adults classes there are a kids class, womens kickboxing, and several fitness bootcamps, etc. If you want to melt the fat away, have a productive stress reliever, learn martial arts, basic self defense, sharpen techniques you already know, have a desire to enter the cage, or just want to improve your cardio, No Question, try Victory MMA.

Victory Martial Arts is everything I was and am looking for in a MMA gym. The class sizes allow for you to work with many people of different skill sets and sizes. The class sizes also allow you to receive personal advice and demonstration on the techniques from the instructor that are the focus of the classes that week or month. Speaking of instructors, all 3 of the instructors that I have learned under during my time at Victory have been gracious and truly cared about my growth as a martial artist and a person. The current instructor even asked me after class if I would like to train one on one with him for another half hour. The facility is clean and you can tell that there is full effort taken to keep the facility clean and sanitary. There is plenty of mat space and I have rarely ever felt like my training was ever effected by the amount of training at available. If you do not own equipment Victory has equipment that you can use so that your training during their current lessons is not hindered from your lack of equipment. They also have no problem providing advice on equipment they believe is worth owning. The last and most intangible thing is the feeling of family. It truly is the Victory family. Youre supported by everyone, trainers, other class members, and it extends outside the gym. Victory members will go watch UFC fights together or try to bring a following when their own gym member is participating in a fight night. It truly is a great atmosphere to get everything you want to get out of MMA, as long as you are willing to work for it.

Towards the end of the year I decided to make a change in lifestyle and get fit. I wanted to have fun and put myself in the right environment to stay motivated. Ive always been a fan of mixed martial arts so I asked friends and family for suggestions on gyms and memberships. Based on both recommendations from family members who train at Victory and reading the online reviews I decided to try some of the classes. I spoke with sensei Alex who suggested I come in and participate in some classes with a free trial. Once I attended I knew why the recommendations and reviews are all excellent. The facility itself is extremely clean and accessible. The classes are highly motivating and effective for all experience levels. All of the students regardless of age and experience level are very approachable and I immediately felt like I was part of the team. I am extremely motivated to attend and feel disappointed when other life events or work get in the way of my training. After almost three months of changing my diet and attending classes I have lost just over 17lbs. I actually feel better in how I move and recover from any physical activity. I cannot recommend Victory Martial Arts enough. They are helping me change the way I live.
