Avoid like the Plague!!!! My husband & I are 25+ year members of LA Fitness (Formerly Ballys Health & Fitness). We were excited when this location opened and were looking to add our son & daughter on at some point. Given the ABUSE my college age children & their friends have experienced when trying to use the 14 Day VIP Guest Passes (which members are supposed to give out). It should be noted the passes have NEVER been honored at this location. On December 27, 2016, I issued passes to my kids and their friends to try out the club over the holiday break. The passes were not honored because they were doing a "Soft Opening" . I followed up with the Sales Manager, Mohammed S and inquired why these passes were available on the LA Fitness Website if they werent going to be honored. He was unable to answer that question but told me to have them come back after the official opening in February they can come back and try the club. Here we are at Spring Break, issued two 14 day VIP Guest Passes on March 10th for my son & his friend to try out the club. Once again the passes are NOT honored. They were told they could only workout for 5 consecutive days even though they had emails & my LA Fitness Account documents they should have 14 days. I have tried contacting the Sales Manager, Mohammed S & the Operations Manager, Taran J, THREE separate times. I have left my name, phone and requested a call back. No response. This afternoon, I got close to speaking with Taran. The receptionist was about to take a message and then informed me that Taran was back and she would transfer my call. I sat on hold for 5 minutes only to be told Taran had to take a conference call and would call me back. What is documented above highlights the lack of management, customer service and I suspect there are possibly contract violations (Not worth my time pursuing but maybe someone else is interested in exploring the possibility???) Now lets get to the most disturbing part, the verbal abuse and insults that have continued the three days the boys did use the club. The boys were transparent that they were checking out the Club over Spring Break and were considering joining in the summer. When the high pressure sales technique came out, my sons friend said "Look I Cant Afford It" until I come home and start my summer job. The sales person didnt lay off and pointed to a HS kid walking in the club and said, "Look he could afford it. Youre in college you can afford it." Subsequent visits included them being told they shouldnt have come back if they were not intending on joining right now. They were abusing the pass because its not intended for college kids to work out over Spring Break. To add insult to injury, the idiot sales staff have proceeded to call my sons friend every night this week to buy a membership & come try the Club for one more day. He has asked them not to take him off their call list and stop harassing him. However, it still continues. How the LA Fitness business model will survive is beyond me. Customer Experience & Word of Mouth are key Marketing & Retention Tools for any business. Given our experiences, I am making it my personal mission to share our experience to anyone who will listen& recommend they avoid the Club like the plague!!!!!

So I got a guest pass online because I really wanted to try out the workout classes before I signed up however, after my experience with the sales guy (didnt catch his name unfortunately) who was extremely pushy, I will not be going there again with the thought in mind that I will be harassed to sign up AGAIN!! This guy was really something else, he wasnt listening to me at all, I wanted to leave the gym after the workout class, to obviously avoid another pushy conversation, but they kept my ID because they "needed it" to enter my information in the system for the guest pass. So Im with this guy again, and he keeps going on and on about the gym having the best prices, I would never get that price again, blah blah....I honestly dont know how many times I told him, thank you for the offer but Im signing up just for the classes and I have to try at least three before I sign up. You would think I was speaking another language....this is his response, "Well most people know if they like a gym after just seeing it". First, makes no sense! Second, Did you hear what I just told you? He is rude, ill-mannered, aggressive, pushy and worst of all, a liar. I know they would probably give me the same "deal" after using the guest pass. I get, they are doing their job but this guy was over the top. This gym is not going to last if they keep up with the same antics. I honestly would not recommend this gym to anyone, yes the cycle class I took was good but the guys around the weights seemed douchey like the sales guy! And the gym has an "xport fitness vibe" if anyone has been to xport and left for that reason...you know what I mean!!

Place looks big and personal trainer was very nice. I signed up over the phone, my mistake. Sales man was very pushy, and I put emphasis on the very. I know Ive had people tell me to use a code to reduce the monthly price, he said that doesnt exist but it does. Also, I didnt know that if I wanted to bring a friend it would be $50 a month. Thats ridiculous. I did get a good deal on initiation. My friends told me that if you want to bring a guest in they make you go through so much trouble, like trying to convince them to sign up. Not just one friend told me this, I had a couple different. They also told me the cancelled after that. Well I did cancel 3 days later because I wasnt told enough details and after reading this Im happy I cancelled. No sauna? Im going to crunch fitness, at least they have a sauna & its only $20 a month. to visit all location and bring a guest!

Was handed a flier for it just being opened by the manager there... Said I would come by, but my life is very busy. I forgot to stop by.. He called my cell and was very cocky to me. He calls frequently now, and once while I was working and was in the middle of fixing a problem at work. Because of this demeanor, I will not be stopping by, and joining this club. Its way to pushy, and can imagine how forceful the sales people are there... And a little update to this review... The manager loves calling you even at 9pm when that is illegal! Every single day of the week! Not a way to attract a new member of you ask me! Wow they must really be desperate for memberships here! Maybe they will stop calling me when they get a call from my lawyer for harassment! Thats a promise!

Not only are the staff bullies, they told us that there would be racketball, sauna, and hot tub. At our first visit, My husband I were told none of these exist. Furthermore, when we asked, the response was , when you signed up, our staff thought this facility would have those. Hmmm.... 4 weeks before club opening, plans changed???..... There are no free weights less than 5lbs. No, bosus, no bands, or excersise balls that are available unless you are in the personal training room which you cannot go in unless you are with a trainer. My hope is that la fitness will read this review and make some changes so I dont have to cancel my membership. I was so hopeful for this club. Very disappointed.
