Ok so I was a member of this club from Nov 2009 until September 10. First of all the manager (at the time) was a female and she worked extremely hard to keep the place looking as good as possible. yes, there were some notes left in the gym but thats cus ppl were stealing things that werent theres. I dont remember the ladies name, but I saw her mop,scrub toilets, clean machines on hands and knees. she was also extremely friendly and helped me with workout ideas, and Iknow all the members really got along well with her. the building itself is very old and because of that alot of things broke that she couldnt always fix right away. i think she got frusterated and left. i cant blame her. soon after she quit i quit too because the place was never the same. the new manager is crap. he isnt even manager material. i quit my membership because the place is now a dump and nothing is ever clean. I plan to join the new Anytime Fitness down the road. I got a tour of it when it opened and it is like comparing a Cadillac to a scooter bike. for the same price i actually get fitness classes, more and higher quality equipment, tanning, and shower facilites. i really dont see how or why anybody would keep their membership at snap now that anytime fitness is here. thats my opinion!

The space was clean. The trainer on duty was friendly. There is a very high quality squat rack that also has pull up bars that are very high. This is great for tall people so that they can actually hang off of the ground. There is a functional fitness area as well as every machine you would need to bodybuild. I would not pay attention to the reviews that are older than a few months with very low ratings because it seems like new ownership and the management of this building is under good control. Im of the opinion that the only five-star snap fitness in the area is the one in Bay View but this one in Wauwatosa makes the best use of the space that is available. Bring your water bottle since there is no drinking fountain however, there is a water dispenser. Dont plan on taking a shower as there is none but there are two large bathrooms.

This specific location is great if youre not a gym rat and in general the same is true for other locations. This one in particular is not crowded most days of the week; After the building got cleared with the city to stay open 24 hours you can now go there whenever you want. The gym isnt as clean as it was when it first opened but its certainly tolerable - Im a clean freak too, so take that into consideration. I kind of wish the gym had more equipment, in particular more leg machines, a bench press, and a couple stair climbers. Just be prepared to get to know some of the regulars if you lift weights there :)

The staff at this location should be professional sign makers. They love to print signs and tape them all over the place. The signs usually contain threats on how one can lose their membership. For example: Touching TV can result in loosing membership, Using dumbbells on treadmill can result in loosing membership, taking magazines can result in loosing magazine privileges as well as membership. On warm days it smells like feet. Were just glad they got their air conditioner fixed so the smell isnt so bad. If they werent so close to our home we would find another location.

Wauwatosa Snap Fitness. I can honestly say the mirrors are NEVER cleaned. Its depressing to look out the dirty windows. Check out the air filter in the northwest corner of the room if you stop in for a tour. The owners live out of state so I dont think they care. It will be interesting to see what happens when AnyTime fitness opens one mile west on North Ave in February 2011. The person who posted nasty signs left in August 2010. At least she did her best to clean the place.

Snap fitness is good in terms of access and equipment. My complaint would be with staff not being present according to staffed hours posted on the website. Also difficult to get out of contract without paying an extra month or two as per billing cycle. I dont appreciate feeling like they are squeezing the last few dollars they can out of me before I am released from the contract. Agreeable customer service eliminates bad reviews like this one.

It has a bit more equipment than the Brown Deer location. It also has a water station but make sure to bring your own water bottle in order to use it. The cardio machines have their own tvs attached. Free wifi for an hour. They allow guests but guests will have to sign in. Staff is super friendly and willing to answer any questions. Bathrooms are very spacious. This location does not have a separate studio for classes that I saw.

New people own this snap now and they have renovated, so really all the past comments are no longer true. However, both with the old ownership and the new ownership Im getting sick of them having "staffed hours" during which there is never anyone there to help you with your membership or any issues you have. If you dont have staffed hours just say so.

The other gym members dont make us feel like we cant be there working out. Theyre neat. We like we dont have to lock in with a contract. I like the features of my personal web-page. I have an on-line trainer! We both have a new routine. Im glad we joined.

The customer service is laughable, both in person and by phone, and this includes the new ownership. The facilities are lower quality and often dirtier than those gyms that have $10/month memberships. Boo.

They have a squat rack and deadlift bar. This location is geared towards people that want to gain muscle and tone their bodies. Less cardio machines but enough machines to handle demand.
