I signed up for Muay Thai at this gym, the classes themselves were good for the most part, and my reason for quitting was simply that the sport wasnt for me. However, thats where my positive feedback ends. Even at the very beggining, they have a very "used car salesman" feel when trying to get you sign up. They made it seem like my request for a trial class was totally insane and that I was twisting their arm. One of the main instructors comes to the gym stoned and the amount of screwing around and chatting between some of the instructors and their regulars was a bit disappointing. My biggest gripe of all was with how they handled me ending my membership. In order to quit, I was asked to send a letter stating my desire to leave the gym to the address of the gym, which would then be forwarded to their accountant (who I came to realize is in CANADA). I sent this letter a full two weeks before the start of the new month, yet I was charged 100 dollars (25 more then I was even signed up to pay!) for the next month anyway. I called 3 different times to get it resolved, and each time was told that they would forward the information to their accountant who would then call me. I was never called back. To this day I still have the 100 dollar charge on my card. This place flat out stole from me, and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who values not being stolen from.

I went in there with no experience with a desire to learn muay thai. the instructor would dole out combinations he wanted everyone to do, but I had no idea even how to throw punches properly. At no point did they try to teach me, a beginner, it was just (punch, kick, switch kick, punch, punch) then the instructor would go and pal around with someone. sometimes he would stop you, show you that he knew how to do it, but wouldnt teach you how to do it. Those that already knew what they were doing, had no problem, and they really liked the gym. I stuck with it and after 3 weeks, I had enough. Him and the other instructor were making fun of the way I threw punches VERY loudly. The kept laughing and laughing. The "owner" (or the guy who claims he is the owner) was there, same guy I signed up with, and I told him that I wasnt going to deal with that and I wanted to cancel my membership. He offered to give me a month for free, but I told him no, that I didnt want to learn from someone like that. If you looking for a great get in shape workout, this is a good gym. You dont need good form to just kick pads. their BJJ is supposed to be excellent, but I wouldnt know. If youre just a beginner looking for just muay thai, this might not be the gym for you

This is simply the best gym in Chicagoland for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai and MMA. There are great training partners for beginners and advanced people of all ages and sizes. Jason and Isaac are both BJJ blackbelts, former high-level competitors and fantastic teachers. Our senior level belts are also well seasoned in competition including one 2013 World Champion purple belt. The MMA team includes lots of successful amateur fighters and a couple of guys on deck to go pro with successful win streaks. Whether you just want to lose weight, get in shape, learn to defend yourself or become a serious competitor, this place is fantastic. It has literally changed my life, having gone from an overweight office-bound, lazy person to someone who competes a few times a year after losing about 70lbs, and I cant recommend it enough. Kids classes look fun too and they all look up to Tom who is a great teacher too! Seriously, just come in and meet us. If you leave your ego at the door, youll fit right in!!

Jiu Jitsu will make you crazy. If you really get into it you will find yourself doing squats while you brush your teeth in the shower, running to the gym in -5 degree weather, day dreaming about the proper technique to choke another person, secretly stretching while in meetings at work and possibly even putting on a little make-up to cover a black eye before you go into a board of directors meeting at work. You will also likely end up being crazy healthy, crazy in-shape and maybe even crazy ripped. There are all sorts of crazy in life. Sitting on the couch eating chips and watching TV is a different kind of crazy as is scores of other unhealthy habits. What kind of crazy are you? Over the past 6 months I have embraced this mental disorder. And I think if you dedicate yourself to it – you can be crazy too. Jason Sullins, Isaac Riggs, Jeremy Penney and countless of others at Aliance Schaumburg and Naperville have been invaluable teachers in this endeavor. Thank you. This is the crazy I prefer. This gym is by far the best training experience I have had to date. The coaches are all top notch (BJJ black belts and pro fighters). No pretenders here. Some MMA gyms can be a little intimidating but ... DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED !!! Come in, work hard, be humble and you will see great results. From Boxing and Muay Thai to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Gi or No Gi, this place offers a great place and environment to train and simply get in shape and meet like minded people or learn to fight and defend yourself. Im 35, married with kids and I love the time I get to spend training whenever I can break away. Its time well spent away frome home. The management/owners are up front and polite unlike other gyms that pressure you to join or tie you down to very long term contracts at outrageous rates. I highly recommend this place to anyone willing to train hard. No BS....this is a well run gym !

*Update* Ive made life long friends here. This is one of few places in the world that you can train and no one judges you. When you walk in the door it doesnt matter what your skin color is, the kind of car you drive or how much money you make. I started training three years ago. I thought learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu would be a fun little hobby but it has turned into a complete life style transformation. Ive lost 20lbs, Im eating right and exercising almost everyday. The instructors are the best in the area. The BJJ classes are taught by legit black belt instructors and they take the time to answer youre questions and help you perfect your technique. The members are friendly and everyone leaves any egos at the door and helps each other out. A great atmosphere to train in!

Ive been training BJJ here for a little over two years. When I first joined, I had already trained heavily in Shotokan and Wing Chun, and had my own ideas about martial arts. I was expecting a lot of "bald heads with tattoos" and tough guys. What I found was a group of dedicated, knowledgeable and down-to-earth people that truly love their art. There are folks here that have been training for many years, and thus skill level is very high. Above all, what strikes me is their honest humility. That being said, if you are sincere about learning the real thing, everyone, from the instructors Jason and Isaac, to other students will go out of their way to help you. Show up and train hard, and your life will honestly be better for it.
