DONT DO IT!!! Look elsewhere now!!! I had some minor water damage to my basement carpet near the sump pump, so I called Prestige out to investigate. A technician comes out (without another guy follwoing him around) and spends a few minutes troubleshooting and determines my sump pump needed replacement. He connects an electrical tester to the plug and shows me that it beeps, which means the pump is trashed (apparently). Hmmm, weird, I know it had been running at least some of the time. Not knowing any better, and desperate, I authorize him to replace the sump pump for $600 (which seemed extremely high). Because, at that point my options were to tell him to hit the road and pay $49.00 for him to come out and insult me and look for a new contractor while my basement floods or just take it in the rear and at least I will have a dry basement. I mistakenly chose the latter. So, about a week later, the wife notices the carpet is wet again near the sump pump. Impossible, I said, but went down there and verified it. I give my friends at Prestige a follow up call and they offer to send someone out. They send out this snarkey fellow who assesses the situation and tells me that the check valve was failing and that was causing the leak. I asked why the original tech that came out did not notice this and just slammed in a new sump pump. His response was eloquently, "No harm no foul". Really? I paid $1000 for repairs I didnt need and my carpet was soaked for another week due to your coworkers negligence and lack of thoroughness in his inspection. Maybe he should have spent some time thorougly testing the system after he installed it, instead of slamming Prestige Plumbing stickers on all of my appliances. How could he miss a leaky check valve? Its the only other element in this simple assembly! Run the pump a few times and watch it leak. So, anyways, snarkey finishes up and takes off and my wife and I get to enjoy our dry basement and wash our hands of Prestige Plumbing. WRONG!!! A few days later, she notices the carpet is wet again. We run the pump and realize it was leaking from the new valve assembly that snarkey had installed. How could this be leaking? Any fool can glue PVC together. It should have been easily detected when/if he actually tested the system out. A few days later, snarkey is back out to repair his job. Third times a charm (I hope. Its only been a few dry days, so I cannot confirm). Hope you all can learn from my mistakes!

9/16/2016 Called Prestige again because I had a toilet that was running. It was Mark who once again came out to assess the problem. When I showed him what was happening, he made a minor tweak that resolved the problem on the spot, saving me the cost of a toilet rebuild which would have cost me nearly $400! In this day and age of dishonest salespeople, it so amazing to find a company with integrity and genuine concern for its customers. He could have easily told me that I needed to rebuild or replace the toilet. I will never use any plumber other than Prestige. This is a company you can trust. Thanks Mark! I was very impressed with the service and care I received from Prestige Plumbing. Mark arrived earlier than anticipated (which was a huge help to me) and spent a full 8 hours working to make sure that everything was functioning well before he left (even though he knew he had another big job waiting for him). At every turn, Mark ran into problems - the pipes were so corroded that installing new faucets became more of a chore than they should have. The new pipe for the outside faucet leaked after the first try, so Mark took the time to re-do it again because he "wanted to do it the right way". But most impressive to me was the service after the job was finished. When I went to clean the shower, I removed the hand held shower from its holder and in doing so, accidentally loosened a fitting which resulted in no water coming from the shower head. I panicked and called both Mark and the office (now after 6 pm on a Saturday night) and Lori went out of her way to ensure that this would be repaired asap. She was willing to shift Marks schedule around in order to accommodate mine. Once I realized that it was my fault, I called both Mark and Lori back to apologize and they were as nice as anyone could be. Plumbing repairs are costly but, as in everything else in life, you get what you pay for. I will definitely be calling Prestige again for all my plumbing and HVAC needs. Lori and Mark were outstanding!

We requested a furnace service in the Fall of 2015 and also asked to have the thermostat moved from one side of the wall in the dining room to the other side of the wall in the hallway. Mark, the technician, explained that we should upgrade to the iComfort thermostat as the one we had was not taking advantage of the features our newer furnace offered. He was emphatic it would pay for itself. I agreed based on his experience and for $1,136 he did the install. He adivsed it was winter and he could not hook up the ac unit as it would be damaged due to the cold weather and he would be back in the Spring to take care of it. The never called and finally after I left 3 messages they answered the telephone and scheduled an appointment. They never came after I took off work to be there. They never called the enxt day to say why they did not come. I did call and they rescheduled to come out. Mark did come and he hooked up our ac unit. He wired it to run 24 hours a day/7 days a week regardless of the outdoor temperature and unregulated by the thermostat. When Ic alled in to complain I was told I could unhook the blue wire if I wanted to shut it off. They left the furnace on as it would heat the house to regulate the temperature. I have called repeatedly to complain and they refuse to come back out and both Mark and the owner refuse to return my call. I have only ever spoken to dispatch. I did call my credit card company and the charges were reversed. I suspect Mark gets paid a commission to upsell equipment but regardless, they are crooks.

I apologize for the delay in writing this review. I have misplaced your service man, Brents, card. When we had service for our sump pump I was out of town for a month. Brent, visited our home in Glendale Heights regarding our sump pump not working. Upon his inspection, my daughter was told that the sump pump was no longer under warranty and couldnt be repaired. He said it was only guaranteed to work for 3 years. My daughter called me and, needless to say, I was very upset. I would have never agreed on the installation of an inferior pump, lasting for such a short time. I am a senior citizen living on Social Security and my daughter is on disability. We could not afford the amount a new sump pump would cost. The ensuing conversation ended with Brent speaking to the owner of Prestige and a very generous offer for a replacement pump was accepted. Your service man, Brent, had previously installed a garbage disposal and his service was excellent then. This time I feel he went out of his way to appease and please us. He spent a lot of time interacting with my daughter with her relaying the conversation to me on the phone. I would certainly recommend your company to anyone inquiring about a plumbing issue. If Brent is what all of your technicians are trained to be, you do indeed deserve the business. Thank you! Sincerely, Patricia Peterman
