We hired Fox Valley Plumbing to do a backflow test. We were quoted $120 ($100 for the visit and $20 for the reporting). When they came out, they said there was a missing part, and they could not do the test, it would need to be repaired first. We were led to believe it was a fairly significant repair, and we were quoted $400, plus parts. In addition, he charged us for the initial visit of $100, and he was there about 30 minutes. When he returned, the entire process took about 20 minutes. 10 minutes were to repair/install the missing part, and 10 minutes to then complete the test. I asked him about the cost and all he could say was that is what we agreed to and it was not up to him. The bill was $400 plus $27.03 for parts. We regretfully wrote the check, but we followed up with a phone call to the owner. We explained the situation to the owner (Matt) and asked him for a partial refund since they had spent less than an hour total on our issue, yet charged us over $500, which is very well above any normal plumber rate. Again, he could not in any way justify the cost, other than to say we agreed to the contract and therefore had no recourse. While I do not dispute we did in fact agree to the price, we were deliberately misled as to the nature of the repair. Had we been told, we have a small repair , it should only take a few minutes when we come back, but its going to cost you $400, we would have looked elsewhere. Instead, we were led to believe this was a major repair that would take a couple of hours. Based on that false information, we agreed to move forward. If the estimate was based on intentionally misleading information, it is no longer a valid estimate/contract. I proposed to the company to refund us $227, which would mean they would still earn $300 for about 1 hours worth of work, and they did not even consider it. I would stay away from them because this company is clearly unethical in its business practices and how it misleads customers.

I was very selective in picking a plumber to help me deal with some basement water issues I was having about a year ago in a home I had just moved into. Matt spent a lot of time with me on the phone discussing how I could mitigate some of the issues I was having. He was extremely kind, patient, and very thorough. The first step in the process for my peace of mind was installing a sump pump system with a battery back-up. Not to mention, this system was also 100x quieter than the previous system I had (even with a quite check valve). This was very important to me considering the sump pump pit is located right below the master bedroom... not the best design by the previous homeowners. All in all, this sump pump system that was installed has performed well up to my expectations after one year, and I do not have to worry about my sump pump failing and causing water problems in the basement. I would not hesitate to use Fox Valley Plumbing for any of my plumbing needs in the future. This is your go to company for any of your plumbing needs!

The owner Matt came out to our house and looked at the issues we were having. I had some idea of what I wanted and he gave some suggestions as well. He was never pushy and gave us time to research what he was going to use to help solve our issues. He followed through on time with what he said he would do and that was greatly appreciated as well. We went with Fox Valley Plumbing and Backflow services with the job. It was an all day job and we knew that going into this. They did what they said on time and in good order. I would recommend them for your plumbing needs and wants. Matt is an owner that understands ones needs, ethical, trustworthy, and is not pushy.

They helped me out with some gas leaks at my home after another local plumber failed to find and fix all of the issues. I called after normal business hours and was still able to get a hold of the owner and he was out first thing the next morning. The repairs and re-piping were done quickly considering it was a pretty major project. I have used Fox Valley Plumbing & Backflow on a couple of other minor issues and have been very satisfied. Customer service has been great, quickly return my calls and they thoroughly answered all of my questions and helped walk me through troubleshooting issues. Highly recommended.

We are selling our home and needed to make sure all plumbing was up to code. We called Fox Valley Plumbing, they sent out a tech, he showed us what repairs we needed to do, he fixed all our issues the same day. The tech was very clean, professional, and did an outstanding job, the price was great. We will always call Fox Valley Plumbing for any future projects. And by the way, there was not one plumbing item listed on the home inspection report :) Thanks again.

Didnt have them for plumbing but almost ran off the road from one of their vans on rt 59 this morning. Heavy fog, driving speed limit and this guy had to be going 60 in a 45. Weaving in and out of traffic and riding everyones ass. It was 5:30am. Beware of this guy. He needs to get up earlier and not put others in danger. Hope the right person at this company reads this. Probably not.

Matt is very responsive and turned around a quote for a kitchen sink plumbing estimate within a day. The job took a bit longer than anticipated but it was done professionally by Dave. The only downside was the 5% surcharge for paying by credit card rather than by check. Seems it should be the other way around. I will have FVP bid on my next project.
