I waited 2 months for an appointment to apply for a passport. I was rudely turned away because I did not have my marriage license. WhenI returned with the license they said it was too late in the day (they were closing in 2 hours). I drove 20 minutes to Niles because they take walk ins. Turns out I did not need a marriage license, and the whole process took about 5 minutes. Skip Wilmette and go to Niles!

Well here I am after returning to the Chicago city area after 30 years looking for the reliable post office where I am learning one more time the city area is not offering the customer service so needed...I am going back to my first old neighborhood residence to make my mail drop in WILMETTE, Illinois....get a clue Chicago!!!!! Thank you WILMETTE!!!!

The other reviews on this page seem to be outdated - the Wilmette Post Office at 1241 Central Avenue, Wilmette 60091 has excellent service and these great business hours: Mon. - Fri. 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sat. 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

My favorite post office. The staff here is beyond awesome. Theyre understaffed, but never testy or short with people. From the postmaster all the way down, theyre awesome.

The staff is pleasant enough, but unless you time it right, be prepared for a wait. This is not a zip in/zip out post office.
