the office was filthy, esp the room i was in. they were doing construction so i can understand a little dust, but not completely dirty w outdated everything (i would say thei tv & radio in the room were at least a decade old & rust on the vents & bottoms of the carts. the dr was very kind, altho didnt tell me anything i didnt already know, also left the few questions i did have to the assistant, which i wanted to ask a DR. recommended i try a med i clearly wrote on my paper work i was allergic to & after much research found out that the med would do nothing for my problem anyways, which i would hope a dr would know. also recommended paxil which i do not need & immediately said no to, not into addictive psychotropic drugs. i do not have insurance and clearly told the receptionist when i made the appt that i am looking for a dr that will actually care. i did get a script (that i specifically asked for bc i did my homework) & a few samples. everyone there was very kind, but that doesnt help my problem so i will not be returning, and the cleanliness really bothered me. iv been to dental assistant schooling & know how clean a room should have been. they did have a short waiting list, which i didnt want to wait for the other derms in the area to have an opening. i have learned why they could get me in immediately & will be making an appt w one of the other derms in the area regardless of the wait, quality is worth it & they all run the same price for me w o insurance. i was extremely let down to say the least.

I had a terrible experience here. I had a total of 4 visits for a growth condition. One visit I waited over an hour (past my appointment time) to be seen. This was a Monday during my lunch hour and I was running late to get to a work meeting. I had to rush through my appointment and had no time to ask any questions or to seek medical advice - of course I was billed for the full amount for the visit (I know, I should have rescheduled, but I had already committed over an hour of my time at this point). For another appointment I waited for 30 minutes to be seen. I decided to stop going after the 4th visit, due to my condition not improving and my Dr. telling me the growth would likely eventually go away on its own, and it was not cancerous (which was my initial concern). I then received a bill for over $400 AFTER insurance (roughly $1200 before insurance). Keep in mind, each one of my appointments averaged 5-10 mins, and I wasted around an hour and a half just waiting, and I still have the condition. I called to complain and was told they have a contract with insurance companies and could not offer reduction in my bill. They have lost my business for good, as well as my wifes, who has been a loyal customer for 12 years. Apparently, back before Shideler was bought by Forefront, they were a reasonable business. Now, they seem to be lacking greatly in customer service and care. What a shame...

I contacted this doctor (based upon word of mouth) to seek treatment for a wart on my foot. I had to go back multiple times and it still has not been removed. I received full charge bills for each and every follow up visit, in spite the fact that they were unsuccessful in treating me. When I attempted to contact the office to discuss the bill I received, I was sent to a private billing company. After talking to them, they couldnt help me. So they suggested I contact the doctors office. I did so and they forwarded me back to the billing center. At that time I requested that they have someone in the doctors office contact me back to discuss this outrageous billing and 10 days later I just received a "Blow Off" letter that states all treatments and billings are within the guidelines of the medical guidelines of my insurance company... Shame that medical professionals complain on one hand that the insurance system is broken and take refuge in it when it suits their needs...sounds hypocritical to me. Either way, as I told them...It might be usual and customary in their office, but with other doctors Ive seen that is not. In my past, when Ive been provided a treatment (previous Dermatologist, Dentist, Podiatrist, Opthamologist and others) where the treatment was not successful, I was brought back for a follow-up at no charge. I will not be going back.

The building is very clean and Doctor Shideler and Terra were amazing and very nice, however, front desk was terrible. I expected to be greeted right when I walked in, in a friendly manner but they made me stand in front of them for about a min before saying a word to me. Checking out was the worst of my experience. A blonde lady around 50 was an absolutely nightmare (I wish I knew her name).Very rude and unprofessional. She never made eye contact with me and she grabbed my card and checkout paper out of my hand very fast and threw my card on the counter when she was done. It is sad when the doctor and nurses are amazing but, front desk is terrible. That is who you see first and last when visiting so, they should be the friendliest, apparently they did not get the memo.

Amazing place. I went there for the first time today and had a nice experience overall. The wait time was about 5 minutes after I filled out the form, even though there were a lot of people before me. The staff is absolutely great, friendly and polite. Dr Shideler is probably the best dermatologist Ive been to, honestly. He took his time examining me and asking me questions. Would recommend this place to anyone.
