We moved here 6 months ago and have had no end of problems. (ZERO trouble with Fed Ex or UPS). They deliver our things to wrong addresses constantly despite large numbers on both house and garage. Theyve also left cards for redelivery of odd mail, but dont follow through and we have to go to th PO every time. One ex. was the carrier decided to stop delivering our mail because they couldnt fit all in one day...so they held it at PO claiming mail was not being collected! Redelivery option checked on the card they left was of course not honored. Latest example was someone leaving Christmas cards in our box, and since we didnt know it before mail delivery, the carrier confiscated them and now we have to wait a couple days and go to PO and pay postage to receive them. I realize our box is considered government property, but tell me what kind of jerk doesnt leave the Christmas cards there to be collected with the mail? My 8 year old is also now missing a package she spent all her Christmas money on which tracking says was delivered days ago and theres zero way to get through the rediculous phone system to speak to anyone... another trip to PO. (Hope it yields her stuff!!) UPDATE!! After going in to PO to receive missing items: The Christmas cards are MIA, the package we located at a vacationing neighbors property. Frank at the PO was extremely patient and kind searching for our missing mail and made sure the supervisor got all the necessary info to look into our situation with the carrier. I believe, because of his assistance, we will end up recovering the lost stuff and maybe help the carrier improve!

I paid for a PO Box address, signed up for automatic renewal only to come into the post office to check for mail and find me locked out of my po box. I went to discuss this issue with the staff and was rushed out the door at 5:25pm and was told to bring my receipts at 7am the next morning. I get to the office in the morning and call the 1-800 number to make a complaint. They escalated a call to the station manager to give me a return cal - Havent received it to date. So i fax over my receipts for verification of payment and no call to date. The customer service is poor, very unpleasant and they do not assist the customers. Ridiculous office and just to think we are paying for the service. I will be closing my account today.

We are in Florida for 6 months during the winter so we have premium forwarding from Elkhart to Ocala. For some reason this post office cannot comprehend how this is suppose to work and continues to deliver mail to our Indiana address. After speaking to two supervisors about this problem they still continue to deliver mail to the Indiana address. As many of you are aware this has become dangerous because people are stealing mail from boxes and stealing identities, etc. We are at a lose as to how to resolve this issue. I am writing this review as a last ditch effort to resolve this problem. The post office doesnt have a problem charging my credit card $18.75 a week for a service they are not providing.

The staff is friendly and helpful until theyre at fault for something. Earlier this month one of my packages hadnt been delivered. Upon calling, they discovered that my package had been misdelivered to a house a few blocks away. They then asked for my number, swearing to call me back as soon as they got to the bottom of it, and so I gave it to them. Not only did they never call back, but any time I tried to call after, nobody would pick up. I cant help but suspect that they took my number solely to avoid any further confrontation. I understand that mistakes happen in any profession, but their handling of it was more than disappointing.

Same thing here. Slow morons. Definitely dont seem to care, can hear them in the back talking and joking around. No wonder why our stamps keep raising. Slow, and some staff are verbally abusive. Have to wait inline sometimes for a half hour. Do they not comprehend they are providing a United States service to the public. Oh thats right most of the public servants just take, not give. What happened to the old pony express concept of getting mail to the recipient fast. I had a check in limbo for 3 months from the post mark date. Now one that is 2 weeks, hoping I dont have to wait 3 months again.

I cant say anything good about this post office. The lobby hours are posted they open at 6 and Windows are open at 7:30 I have gone down 3 times in the last 2 weeks and they havent opened the doors at 6. If you are not going to open for people to pick up their mail from their PO Boxes then change the times on your doors. When you call you never can talk to anyone. When you have to go to the windows they only usually have one person working and I feel so bad for her as she wants to help everyone but cant do it all.

The place runs as smoothly as possible given the little staff they have. People go above and beyond for countless hours to help each customer as much as they can. This office does need a secretary to answer the phone #1 complaint NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. Point taken. Some are friendlier then others but all the staff cares. Elkhart has a bad record but the carriers and clerks really do try and give as much help as possible. Also they provided me tape when going priority.

Brought in a package on my lunch break and i didnt have tape to tape it. As I was at the counter I had the paperwork for the return and remarked, "Oh i just need some tape to close it up" The woman at the front counter, "You need to buy the tape"... Unreal!!! The post office exists to provide a service, not sell office supplies. A piece of tape -- which it used to provide anyway. Went to the UPS store, taped and sealed the box! No charge!! Screw the post office

Speaking on my familys behalf from my 12 year sons account. Because this review was prompted because they lost an Amazon package that he paid for. As always its the same lies and excuses. It all boils down to incompetent lazy individuals that dont even possess common sense let alone the ability to understand how to match up an address and a piece of mail that matches the address.

You people clearly dont know what goes on back there. Millions of pieces of mail coming and going, as well as parcels, and each item being handled with priority. Are you really complaining because you heard laughter? What those people accomplish each day is amazing and extraordinary. Im not sure how they find reasons to laugh, but God bless them if and when they do.

They cant seem to find my address that i have lived at for a year. They keep returning my mail as undeliverable and getting my credit card, bank accounts, 401k accounts suspended. I have talked with the post master 4 times. And still they cant get this fixed. They keep telling me my address does not exist. Well its what the city have me.
