Manager, I believe Jim, is perhaps the rudest "mechanic" Ive ever dealt with. After many years of working on, tuning and building aftermarket performance vehicles I feel that I would have a general understanding of the possible issues that may be occurring with my vehicle. However, since just moving to Fishers, and living in an apartment complex it makes difficult to diagnose and work on anything. Especially, without having tools handy. Back to the point, so I take my car here and explain that Im having shaking issues at around 70 mph, and he quickly retorts, "I cant check for anything because there is no place around to legally drive 70 mph". This is a completely reasonable protocol and wouldnt advise a business breaking the law, especially if there is alternative means to find the issue. However, we are about a mile away from highway 69, which has a 70 mph speed limit. I tell him this and his tone quickly falls south and he says, "Im not going to waste my guys time driving halfway to Anderson to check the car". My jaw dropped, instantly. I followed with a series of questions (which one would normally ask, taking their car to a new shop), which were all responded to in a condescending tone. It was like this guy was going out of his way to deny my business. I finally walked out of the store after I asked, if repairs were needed and cost upwards of $500-$1000; how would they determine if the vehicle was fixed if they refused to drive the vehicle on 69 at speeds of 70 mph, when the issue occurs? He just looked at me and shrugged. I grabs my keys, said thanks and walked out. Overall, taking your car to a new shop is a big deal, the reliability of your vehicle is directly related to the reliability of the people that service your vehicle. It is nearly impossible to hold a conversation with the manager, I regretted wasting my time going into this place and regret even considering the idea of leaving my keys with this guy. If you have had previous business here and enjoy the establishment, then please dont let this hinder you going here. However, if you are searching for a friendly, seemingly reliable shop to take your vehicle in the area for the first time, be very weary of this shop and take everything the manager says with a grain of salt.

I took my car here for a few oil changes and to have my brakes done. I was told I should buy new tires for my leased vehicle even though I would be turning it back in to the dealer in 6 months and there was more than enough tread. Brought in a coupon to have my brakes done, and was told that the brakes on the ad were terrible and that I should purchase the better ones they had on hand. I went with the recommendation. I also got a phone call stating that I needed new brake rotors as well. I ended up spending a lot of money to have all of the work done, which sucks but could be justified. The brakes that were put on my car however, were the worst that I have ever used. I honestly felt safer using my worn out brakes from before I took my car in. The shop also lost all of the clips that keep the brake pads from rattling, so every little bump would make my car rattle like crazy. They upsold me and did a crappy job. Do like I did, and find a local shop to get work done on your car.

Only place Ill ever take my car! Ive been so impressed in my dealings with this Car-X location. My dad has gone here for years, and theyre the only place my husband and I completely trust. As many other reviewers have pointed out, these guys dont try to convince you something is wrong with your car when it isnt. I had my car in for an oil change the other day so I asked them about a problem it had been having lately. They were very willing to look into it even though it was almost the end of the day. Then Tommy came out, told me what the problem could be, and gave me a very simple suggestion (and one that didnt cost me a cent). Definitely not your stereotypical car place! Were glad to have a local mechanic we can trust our cars to!

Took my car to this location two times for oil changes. The second time, they tried to sell me a new battery. My car only had 44,000 miles on it and the scumbag manager tried telling me the cold crank amps were low (when I took it to the dealer three months later for an oil change, they said the battery was fine). On top of that, when I got home from getting my oil changed I saw oil leaking under my engine. Popped the hood open and low and behold, my oil cap was sitting under the windshield. Took the car back right away and they were assholes. Didnt even apologize or give me a free oil change. This place totally sucks.

Time and time again Carx at the 11222 Allisonville Rd, Fishers location has gone out of their way to make sure I had the least expensive bill as possible. Similar other places might edge up costs when a person such as myself would come in uncertain of whats wrong, but not Carx. This is the third time over a couple of years that they went the extra mile in this regard. Steve & Jim and the rest of the crew get my kudos. Anyone needing something as routine as a oil change on up to a huge mechanical problem can be rest assured they will do everything to get the best prices for parts and always charge a fair price on labor.

For a CarX, this is a great shop. The owner Jim is a bit gruff, but no nonsense and very honest. Of course they tell you everything wrong they could fix in theory, but theres no pressure to do more than you want or what will make the car safe. They have even basically refurbished things and did the minimum they could to keep the car driving safely and save me some money. If youve ever owned an older car, you know how valuable a mechanic like this is. Im generally not a fan of franchises like this, but in Fishers a decent mechanic is hard to find period. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this shop to a friend.

Jim is a nice guy and runs a great shop! I took my van in for front brakes and had them run a quick diagnostic on my check engine light. They said it was the ERG valve. When I asked if it might be covered under warranty, Josh said "probably not", so I said go ahead with the repair. He called back 1/2 hour later and said they called Chrysler to see if it was covered, and it was!! He didnt have to go out of his way to check, and it saved me $200. Because of that honesty and going the extra mile, they earned a customer for life.
