I highly recommend Self Storage of America! The units are very reasonably priced, well-maintained, and equally as important... the customer service is WONDERFUL! Aside from having the standard gated security, it is clear the employees actually pay attention to the units. At one point our lock was not properly attached to the door, the company actually called to inform us. In addition to that, when we moved out, the main building was not open for us to close our account. When they noticed the lock was off the unit (the next day), they again made it a point to contact us to be sure we were aware of the situation. Great customer service goes a long way, especially in todays world where companies seem to be more about profit than people. As with the other reviewer, I must also rave about Kathleens willingness to help. I went in about 5 minutes before closing one day with some questions. She welcomed me with a smile and helped to resolve a minor hiccup in billing. If I ever need a storage unit again, this is definitely where I will be going! More companies need to follow Self Storage of Americas example. Thanks, again!

Well I have been with them for about a year and the first few months, well the reviews I read on the internet about them were true, horrible, they lied, the clerk was rude, just not a good experience. NOW, the last two months they have changed owners, companies and brought in Kathleen. SHE has been so helpful, I had to type about it, she answers the phone when they are closing first thing, I did not check their hours and called right at 4 p.m., all the companies I know would let it go to voice mail!! She answered and fixed it where I can get online and pay, which I had not been able to do for two months I have been trying...She speaks to you respectfully , not like YOU are interrupting her schedule which I was doing! I have dealt with a lot of companies in my life, and this was just a wonderful experience, to be treated with respect even though they actually were closed!! Amazing customer service! We are so glad all the other storage facilities in Irvington were full, as this place didnt pop up on a Google search until pretty far down the page. The staff was friendly and helpful and the facilities are the cleanest and most well-maintained Ive ever seen. If you have 20 extra bucks and are moving in winter or summer, definitely spring for one of their climate-controlled units. Its a great deal already for the luxury of unloading and loading in comfort, but they also have carts that can move 8 to 10 boxes at a time, negating the need for constant back-and-forth box carrying. The friends helping you move will REALLY appreciate it. Our unit was also only about 15 feet from where we had to park, so moving furniture was a breeze. Will recommend to everyone I know ever looking for storage.

A few years ago, this was an OK place for customer service. But there have been staff changes and today the lady started an argument with me! Ive been in customer service for 20 years, and you never, ever argue with the customer even if you think theyre a complete idiot. You dont always give them what they want, and the customer is not always right. But you never argue. Ive never dealt with a more rude person in my life at a place of business.

THIS place is a GODSEND! We feel REALLY good about paying rent to them. We know our stuff will be safe. We had to move with short notice, so having someplace we could keep our stuff that was safe meant we could pack - up and move things out BEFORE we moved. The actual moving day was yet a moving day, but WITHOUT such places, the day would have been a NIGHTMARE! Bonus -- we always feel safe coming and going. SO nice! Money WELL spent!
