If I could give Accurate Transmission 10 stars, I would! It was time to update my car registration & I was told by the BMV that I needed a "passing emissions certificate" (porter county) before they could give me my 2010 sticker. Sadly I failed my checkup because the levels were okay, but my car "wasnt functional" because the check engine light was on as were two codes! I immediately went online and it said the nearest place for me to go for "Computer Diagnostics" was Accurate automotive. The young guy at the counter greeted me & was very friendly and chatty as the owner himself did the diagnostic test. I asked if he could please clear the codes and turn off the check engine light so I could pass the test. Gus took my car for a test drive to check out the transmission & when he determined nothing was wrong, he went ahead and cleared the codes for me. During the test drive, Gus told me that he and his family have been in the business for over 30 years, that he goes to seminars regularly to stay up-to-date on the latest in automotives & auto repair, and mentioned to me all about the materials used in catalytic converters, etc. That guy knows his stuff!!! He also mentioned my oil needed to be changed so I gave him the go ahead, he changed my oil and winterized my vehicle for me!! I was ready and willing to pay him, I was so thrilled that hed taken care of everything so quicky & efficiently! He also told me to come back if there was ever a problem. I was shocked to find out this gem of an auto repair shop isnt on yelp or more reviews on google and so here I am, sharing the wealth. If and when I ever have a transmission problem with mine or my wifes car Ill be running back to Gus! It is SO refreshing to meet good, honsst, skilled and knowledgable mechanics, Ive found mine and will never even think about going anywhere else. Oh, and immediately afterwards, I got my free re-test & passed!!! I finally got my emissions certificate! Thanks Accurate!

In June 2015 I brought in my Volvo s40 T5 to get my clutch, flywheel, and throw-out bearings replaced. It was about a $2600 expense. Immediately after I had broken in the new clutch that they put in, my car wouldnt go into 2nd, and I thought that was strange. Just about a month or two ago, my engine blew up which had nothing to do with what accurate fixed, BUT the people I sold it to at a different shop rebuilt the engine and found that Accurate had put in the WRONG CLUTCH. The whole reason I got all of that replaced in the first place was because the previous owner had put in the wrong clutch. That was the reason it wouldnt go into 2nd anymore. So if you are looking to get work done at Accurate Auto and Transmission, DONT because they obviously have no idea what they are doing, and they are anything but accurate. Let me also mention that the word transmission is in their name, and they couldnt even do that right. I never ever write reviews on the internet about things, but I figured Id save some people who are even considering getting work done here.

I had a fantastic experience with Gus and the rest of the guys at Accurate Auto & Transmissions. I was certain I had a transmission problem in my car. I took it into them because of a friends recommendation. Gus immediately asked me the year and mileage on my vehicle. Somehow, he knew that my vehicles particular year had recently had a recall due to a problem with the engine control module (ECM). Gus offered to take the car over to the dealer himself. He was right: the ECM did need replaced, and I was under this new extended 10 year warranty. They picked it up, tested it again themselves, and then turned it back over to me for no charge. No charge at all! The amount of money & hassle these guys saved me is astonishing. Ive never seen service like that anywhere. I cant recommend them enough. THANK YOU!

I took my 95 S10 in to have a tune up as it had been running rough for a while. I normally used a mechanic just down the road, but decided to give Accurate a shot. I am glad I did. I called and Gus got me in the next morning. I asked him to look at other things I had concerns with, and had no problem with helping me out. After the tune up he told me that my fuel injectors were clogged. I did not feel that he was looking for things to fix, but was only recommending things that really needed to be fixed, unlike other shops. I felt that Gus valued his customers and treating them right above all else. (He even offered to help me with working on my own car.) Would highly recommend Accurate to anyone in need of a mechanic.

Couldnt be more happier with the service i got here. I called around to several different places and all of them were more expensive and had a long wait list to get my vehicle in. With the hours that I work its hard to get things scheduled and taken care of, but Gus was very helpful in getting my car fixed so it would pass emissions he even took it to emissions and got it passed for me so I didnt have to. He even bought my old broken down vehicle too... I know thats not a service they usually offer but I did get more for it than I probably would have if I just scrapped it out. I will be back for any other repairs I might need. Also had great friendly service!

They did wonderful work on my Ford. I like that the people there are kind and honest. I am handicap and really needed my car fix. They quoted me a price and kept the price that was given to me. Gus is a great guy and he made sure he did his best with my Ford. I am 100% happy. He put my starter in and fixed all my brake lines...At very fair price. Please take your car or truck to them. They treat you right. I love this place and I am going back to have my ball joints replace shortly. I would not take it any other place. I thank them. ..Dineen.

Wow. My sons suv broke down out in Valpo, 40 minutes from home. We contacted Accurate for a tow and a diagnosis. It was the transmission. Gus was patient with me while I called him multiple times anguishing over the repair. After the repair on the way home the temperature gauge went to hot. Gus sent a tow back to our house and towed it back to Valpo for free to make it right. The suv is back in business and we couldnt be happier with the excellent service he and his team provided.

I was referred to this place by a friend and was not disappointed. I was able to get an appointment very quickly and it was very reasonably priced. Best service Ive ever had from a mechanic. Gus was very informative, polite, and HONEST. He went out of his way to make sure my car had a great tune up and explained everything he did. I dont think Ill ever go anywhere else. I think this is a great place for women who may feel uncomfortable taking a car to a mechanic alone.

Our transmission went out near Portage on a Sunday morning at 7AM. We called the emergency number listed for Accurate and Gus called us back within 15 minutes and within an hour he had a tow truck out to us and personally drove us and our trailer to a hotel. By Monday morning he had diagnosed the problem and had two workable options for us, and by 5pm we were on the road again! Trustworthy and experienced help when we needed it most!
