My 2000 Nissan Xterra broke down near Chesterton and Geico had me tow my car to the nearest dealership which happened to be Bob Rohrmans. They checked out my car and told me that my timing belt needed to be replaced and it would cost about $1000. I ended up finding D & L auto in Valparaiso which was willing to do the repair at the more reasonable quote of $500. So I had them go and get the car from Bob Rohrmans and check out the issue. D & L was able to determine that the rotor cap was loose in the distributor. They also checked the compression and said that it was a little low but even across all cylinders, which did not indicate a broken timing belt. Great! I highly recommend getting your vehicle serviced at D & L auto--it doesnt look fancy but the people are honest and excellent at their jobs! (Dont go to Bob Rohrmans!)
