Im starting to think that other reviews of this facility were paid for. I cant image 4 people (one employee) who review this place all give it 5 stars. Here is the truth of the gym. we joined on Dec. 14th 2015 for a two year contact after doing a walk through of the gym. It was small and didnt have all the equipment you could use when working out; however, it worked for our needs. After joining things started going down hill fast. The back door card scanner stopped working (that was finally fixed after about 7 months) and the water fountain runs hot. Between the carpet an rubber weight lifting floor is a seam that has peeled up causing a tripping hazard that EVERYONE has tripped over. There is no "caution sign" or "watch your step". However there is a 25lb plate with a piece of paper that says "Please DO NOT remove this plate!" The break has become increasingly worse and this started breaking back in January. The last time I was in (mid September) It was still there. I would also like to mention that this is one of the six 25lb plates there which makes it difficult to lift if other people in the gym are using similar weight. Shortly after joining the location also got a bunch of what we were told was new equipment, but that is hard to believe when its covered in rust. What did they do with all the old equipment you ask. They put in the building next door so every time you enter the gym you can see all the perfectly good equipment you cant use. The owner seems to only care about money. He is rude to clients and doesnt worry about the state of his facility. You can go lift there, it does its function. However, the owner doesnt keep up on the facility well. We are leaving due to this reason. Although I have expressed my unhappiness with the state of this facility to the owner, as well as corporate who have never returned my phone call, they do not waive the fee to cancel a membership early. The way I look at it is if I sign up for internet and the company isnt providing what they promised you wouldnt be forced to pay a cancellation fee because its their fault you are leaving... Same situation apply when a gym doesnt take care of its facility. I dont recommend anyone get a membership here.

Tried calling multiple times and never could get ahold of anytime. Tried mornings afternoon and evenings and no one ever was there. Stopped by this afternoon and no one was at the desk to go and and talk with anyone about a membership. Completely annoying and the fact there is an anytime across the street it makes it easy deciding where to go. Call anytime fitness across the street got ahold of sometime first try and they even offered to wave all fees to sign up. Snapfitness is a joke.

My family and I had a great experience at the Ankeny Snap Fitness. My children took advantage of the personal training opportunities that were available. The personal training really helped them excel in their school sports. The Ankeny Snap Fitness is a convenient location and the keyless entry badges make it really accessible.

I go here frequently to work out, the only downside is there is not a large variety of machines that you would get in a bigger gym. Also the only way to bench or squat is on the smith machine which really sucks.

Small, not very many people , perfect for if you dont want to go to a big gym
