BROKE MY DEVICE AND WANT ME TO PAY FOR IT!!?? Worst service experience of my entire life. Geek squad refused to professionally diagnose and take in my hard drive for repair. Instead, they looked at it and told me the hard drive was fine and just the adapter was broken. I asked to buy one off of them, he claimed they dont sell power adapters. He told me incorrect information on how to "fix" my hard drive at home by using "any 12V power adapter". This information was WRONG. I followed his exact instructions and his advice fried my drive! I took it back to them and he said "ooo...now its destroyed. Youll have to pay for data recovery." They quoted me $100-800 and then they call me back weeks later to tell me it will cost nearly $2,000! Trusting this horrible company was the worst decision of my life. If I took my drive to ANY other competitor, I would still have my data and it would have only cost for a diagnosis and a new adapter. Geek Squad refuses to take any responsibility for the damage that THEIR employees cause. I will never again set foot inside a Best Buy store in my life.

My boyfriend recently dropped his MacBook Pro and broke the hinge. He brought it to be repaired as he purchased the Best Buy Geek Squad warranty instead of the Apple warranty that I told him to. He has now realized how bad of a decision that was. They had the computer for almost a month and upon its return something didnt seem quite right with the battery. Within a few days they keyboard was burning and smoke was coming out of it because they had not properly put it back together. He had downloaded a few things and did not have a chance before it shorted out to back it up. Of course for Geek Squad to back it up now even though it was their fault it needs repair again they wanted to charge at least $99. There wasnt even an apology for their error. Now he has to wait another 2-3 weeks to get the computer back or wait for their decision if they will let him just get a new computer. Ive never seen such terrible work and service before.
