For anyone bringing their car in to a shop needing a simple thing done, I would avoid this shop like the plague. I brought my car in with a concern that the throttling cable was going bad. they said theyd check it out and let me know, and when they called me back they let me know they checked and nothing was wrong with it but I should spend 200 dollars to clean the throttling system (which they even said in their diagnose write-up would not solve my issue, so why even suggest it?), why I am giving them one star is they charged me for 30 minutes of labor (74$) for looking at a dang cable that they said nothing was wrong with. why charge someone that much for something that should of been a five minute check if nothing was truly wrong? besides that they also tried getting me to do expensive unnecessary work on things that werent even broken or in need of repair. they said my rear shocks were bad, they werent they were replaced less then a year ago. they said the spark plugs cables and housing had to be replaced, those also were replaced less then a year ago. nearly everything else they said needed to be done was either recently already done or in fact totally fine. I took it into a shop where I know the mechanic well and was told everything on their list was bull. I am so disappointed that another mechanic is out there in this town trying to scam people out of their hard earned money. also they wanted 40 dollars to replace a 7$ air filter on my engine, are you kidding me?

Cant say enough nice things about how this business is run! My family and I were headed to Iowa City for a Basketball game. After stopping at Williamsburg our Nissan Rogue began making a mysterious noise. We tried a local Ford dealer for help, but they werent interested in helping or taking a closer listen. Determining we should chance the 30 milt trip to Iowa City, we called A-Team and spoke with someone who ensured us that he would be able to look at our car immediately. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the same man we spoke to on the phone. He hopped right in the car and we went for a drive, so he could hear the noise. After a quick trip, he removed the car currently in the garage and introduced us to his "star" mechanic. That mechanic took our car for a spin and returned shortly. In short time, our car was on the lift and I was asked to come take a look. They showed me a loose piece and explained what was causing the noise. Ive never received such a thorough explanation and watched them fix the issue while standing there. When it was all said and done, I was ready to at least pay for the mechanic and the lift. I was told there would be no charge, and they were happy they could help. If we lived closer, I would not hesitate to have A-Team service all of our vehicles. That honesty and integrity is hard to find in most businesses, and this family greatly appreciated our brush. Thanks again A-Team!!

They are not professional. A jiffy lube guy told me to check my front tie rod since there is some liquid leaking there. So i brought my car to a auto repair shop (not A Team Auto Care) and they told me after seven or eight minutes checking that some liquid was leaking in my steering gear and they provided me a quote of replacement of the steering gear free of charge. I then visited A Team Auto Care in order to get another quote. I told them to check the liquid leaking problem but after more than 30 minutes, they told me that they could not find the leaking. So I told them my checking results in the previous auto repair shop and asked them to check it again. Then they found the leaking and charged me $75 for this checking. Also they are very expensive and they quoted me $640 for a front brake change while I called another random auto repair shop and got a quote of ~$300. The labor fee at A Team Auto Care is $129.31 per hour, much more than other auto repair shops.

One of the best automotive shops I have ever been to! They get your car in quickly, diagnose the problem, and give you a call in a timely manner. They go through all options with you, whether its a repair or replacement. They want to help you as much as they can! They provide rides to and from the shop, loaner cars for FREE, and their warranty is outstanding! 3 years or 36,000 miles parts and labor nationwide! They will even put you up in a hotel if you are stranded somewhere in the U.S. with a broken down car under warranty! Friendly service every time. Honest, dependable, and affordable! I highly recommend this place to anyone in or around the Iowa City area. They are a highly trusted mechanic, and they will not take advantage of you if you are traveling or have a student at the university. This place really is the "A-Team"!

I know there are a lot of great reviews here but I have to burst the bubble a bit. I went there for the first time in the past 4 months. I suspected they were trying to sell me on repairs that I probably did not need. So I brought the car back to my hometown and had my old mechanic do the work I had originally needed but did not ever get done at this place. He said my car was perfectly in great shape and needed nothing. He fixed the brake problem for a lot less than they guys could. So I just cant recommend this place. Not so good for me. Im glad others have liked it though. They probably do fine work. I did not actually end up having them do anything but an oil change.

We have been using A-Team Auto Care for several years. They have been great! Tom and his staff always explain what we need to do to keep our cars running safe. We have never had a problem with our service with them and it is great to know we get a warranty on any service we get. They always make us feel we are very important to them and they drop off and pick up our car wherever it is convenient for us. I have already recommended them to friends and would recommend them to anyone who wants to have a reliable, caring car service they can count on over and over for a fair price with no pressure to do things on your car you dont want done.

I always serviced my 2004 9-5 at a Saab dealership during the 7 years I owned it. I had an issue with the alignment and it seemed that nobody could adjust it because of missing tools, or missing alignment machine, or missing parts etc. etc. Almost ready to take it to Missouri (3 hours one way...) I e-mailed A Team: Tom called me right away, discussed the options, took the car there and got it back the day after at a very reasonable cost plus a free and detailed inspection and vacuumed interior. My car now drives much much better, this was a great experience and I will for sure back. Thank you again A Team.

I will recommend A-Team Auto Care to everyone I know! My cars issues were taken care of above and beyond what I was expecting, but thats not the main reason I will tell everyone I know to go here. Tom is the reason. He patiently answered all of our questions, explained in clear detail what the issues were, outlined all of my options, and unlike other mechanics we have interacted with in the past, Tom actually cared about our situation and wanted to help. Tom- Thank you very much for repairing our car and getting us back on the road! We truly appreciate the work you did and the way we were treated!
