I have been to SPA three times. A friend recommended this salon to me and told me to ask for a specific student. I made an appointment and asked for this student. When I arrived at SPA for my first appointment, I was told by the receptionist/cashier that this student was out sick and they would be putting me with a different one. Despite this hiccup, the first appointment went extremely well. I understood that a student would be cutting my hair and hence it would take longer. I had no problem with this. The student took her time and the educator was attentive. The second time went well also; however, I did not receive a phone call appointment reminder and noticed that management of the salon/school as a whole was disorganized. I decided to make another appointment anyways since I was so happy with my hair. I distinctly remember telling the lady at the front desk that I wanted my third appointment to be on a specific day at a specific time with the same student. It appeared to me that she entered this information into the computer. (This is important.) My third appointment was atrocious. For starters, I once again received no phone call reminder/confirmation. Then I had to wait 15 minutes to be checked in. When I was finally being checked in, I was informed that I was not even scheduled for an appointment. The receptionist/cashier said that they were going to put me with a different student. I strongly considered just leaving; however, I decided to go ahead and wait another 20 minutes. This other student was very polite; however, the educator was very impatient and appeared to not give much of a crap when the student would ask questions. I even provided a picture of how I wanted my hair to look. I asked for an Emma Watson pixie cut and left the salon looking like Lloyd Christmas in Dumb and Dumber. I want to be clear that I dont blame the student. The educator wasnt helpful and gave little direction. I WILL NOT return to this salon until the overall management gets its act together.

My most recent experience at The Salon Professional Academy was abysmal. I usually wax my own legs but because I had no time, I went to get it done. The first time I went was great. I was in and out in about 20 minutes so I decided to give them repeat business. I had such confidence that I decided to do both a leg and underarm wax, but after 1 hour of struggling, the student left patches of hair and bits of hard wax on my legs. The instructor didnt even check on her work and prior to that, I heard the receptionist and another student making fun of the student I was getting. Obviously, this institution doesnt care to educate their students properly. I dont blame the student, she was doing the best she could. I do blame the school for inadequately training her. To make matters worse, the receptionist didnt know how to refund me for the underarm wax I didnt get but which I was charged for. The entire experience was a hot mess from the moment I walked through the door until I left. Never again.

I was a hair model for one of their graduating students about two weeks ago & I asked for her to ombre my hair. It didnt turn out ombre at all, she ended up leaving me with orange hair that was horribly blended. I asked her if I can come back in for her to lighten the ends more since she ran out of time, she just ignored my message & never got back to me. I have long, thick, dark hair that has never been colored & I told her it would take a long time for the color to lift, she said the whole process would take no longer than 3 hours tops, I ended up staying for almost 5 hours. I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed. She was really nice, but the end result was not what I asked for & not what I expected. I understand she was a student, but she convinced me she was capable of doing what I was asking for & fell through with her promise.

I have had my hair dyed here for the last two years, and it is honestly the best color treatments I have ever gotten. The student may have taken a little longer than my "regular" salon, but was checked on every step of the way (I was her FIRST coloring job.....and then went back to her for the next 18 months until she graduated!!!) She did an all over color with highlights....AMAZING. I had other professionals I know as friends ask where I had it done. Got the protein treatment and a great cut as well. Also had my eyebrows and NOSE waxed. If you havent done this, it is painful as HECK, but makes you breathe easier and not worry about those "stray hairs". They cut my 9 year olds hair and waxed her eyebrows (yes, she is a little hairy) and is now in love with waxing. All of these services.....less than $75. Cant beat it.

This was the worst salon experience I have ever had. First, it took me over 4 days to contact the front desk, they never answer the phone and leaving a voicemail is clearly pointless. Then on to the appointment which was scheduled for 6:30. I got called back at 7:10 with no explanation or apology. My manicurisit is suppose to graduate in October, but I dont know how. My nails look like a 5 year old did them. The worst mani pedi I have ever had. Not to mention her nails were dirty and stained. Disgusting. On top of that the whole time I was there she was griping about how she hated being in school with all girls and how she was running late and it was affecting her. Are you kidding? AWFUL

Definitely plan on it taking a while as they are students learning and being checked on. But we had a great experience! I went with my daughters who are 6 & 8 for hair cuts and although it was a process they loved their hair! When they were done the gals who were not busy were so nice and kept my girls busy by playing games and talking to them while my hair was getting finished. I have also gone other times and have always loved how my hair has turned out!

I am really torn about this experience. My stylist was friendly and did a great job....for the most part. I got highlights and one under-section of the back of my head is fully bleached out and barely toned at all. I would have said something but I did not see the patch until someone else pointed it out when I had my hair up.

Always enjoy getting haircuts here. For the most part nice people and good service. It is a school so keep that in mind. It will take longer, but I have been happy with my haircuts for the most part.

Worst service ever. Poor management and I have got bad haircuts several times. Girls there do NOT treat their customers respectively. Wont go there ever again.
