I come from a big city and am used to Groupon prices. I needed to get my hair done for a wedding so I looked around online and found this place to be affordable for my budget. I made the assumption that since this was a Redkin academy that the students would be more educated than they were. I asked for full highlights and a peek-a-boo dark brown under-color. I stressed the importance of cool tones. This is always what I get so they should have had a great example as to what I wanted based on my already professionally treated hair. The girl was really nice and I did like her, but she didnt listen to what I wanted. Instead of highlights she actually foiled my entire head minus the peek-a-boo. I sadly didnt notice as my hair is thick and Im used to a ton of foils being put in. When she rinsed me out I saw and was horrified. Not only did she bleach it all, she clearly missed spots so there are dark splotches on clumps of hair. Not only that but my hair was now several shades of amber and orange. My niece actually told me I looked like leaves. :s She didnt tone either which is STANDARD when I get highlights especially when I stress no warm tones. The cut wasnt good either to be honest. I have layers and with a peek-a-boo you are supposed to razor the ends to allow that color pop. Nope. Just a straight edge cut. I left and ran to Sally Beauty, bought myself some toner and some razor sheers. Ive toned it twice and fixed the layers myself but the brassy look of my hair was still not good. I called and talked to one of the educators. She set me up to get some low lights put in for free to try and reduce the brassiness. Im grateful that she was gracious enough to do this for me. How it will look when Im done is a mystery to me. Im kinda scared to go back to be honest. I honestly wish I could just get a refund, but you get what you pay for so it is what it is.

I went in last week to get my hair cut. I asked for shoulder length hair, with a short fringe and layers everywhere. My hair is thick and annoying so I told the girl multiple times I needed it thinner so I need layers. She cut it surprisingly fast, so I asked her if she actually did put layers in it. She said I would see them when my hair is dry. My hair is way longer than shoulder length, My bangs are past my eyes still, they go down to my mouth and hang in my face at work, and there are NO LAYERS IN MY HAIR WHATSOEVER. I completely wasted my money here. I have to go get my haircut somewhere else now because it looks terrible and I am supposed to be attending a wedding in 3 days!! UPDATE: I asked for a refund or for them to fix my hair. They refused to and told me its "good" that I am never coming back. Wow I cannot believe the horrible customer service....

I went in had blonde hair. Asked for the.blonde.to.be.lightened and skinny black streaks put in. I thought id be there for a short period of time took the girl 4 1/2 hours to foil it. Then was messing around talking to.the other students so i sat for anothef half hour staring at the ceiling. She washed my hair out then brought me back to the mirror. And then i saw it. Purple hair!! Completely purple. She rinsed my hair out wrong. Then they tried to tell me i still had to pay for it and that they wont.fix it. Tried to charge me 140 dollars cuz she used extra dye.So....i walked out and didnt pay. They had the nerve to follow me outside and tell me i had to pay. Well i didnt and will never go.back there. Not to mention it was the day.before my grandpas funeral. I had to get my hair stripped which trashes ot and re dye it by a pro.

KEEP IN MIND PEOPLE!!!! THIS IS A SCHOOL!!!! These people servicing you are LEARNING! So dont be so hard on them when criticizing them on their ability!! (Their attitude and customer service, on the other hand, is different) Give them a break! Jeez

This is a great place to get your hair cut. It is cheaper than going to a professional salon, and you are helping students learn their trade. Overall the students are knowledgeable, and the instructors are very helpful.

Help out a striving student! Educators keep a close eye on the students! Its pretty cool to see them learning and I got a nice, cheap color job!

All around terrible experience...between the stylist, supervisor, and having to spend money elsewhere to fix.
