our computer was slow at best, old operating system. We were told there as no way they could update drivers, or os because of the age, but if we bought a new computer, they would transfer everything over, install a free antivirus and a free backup. Ok , we bit, brought the CPU in. They spent 2 days fiddling with it. they told me they couldnt get the old computer to boot up, funny it did it for me daily, it was just slow. so they pulled the hard drives and couldnt get the data off of those either. When we came in to get it, we were talked to as if we were idiots. I mentioned I was working on computers before the guy was born. He just looked at me and continued his talk, programmed into him. then I found out the free antivirus was built in by microsoft. the backup was some free bee off the internet and was manual. they couldnt link the new Office 365 to my account, and then the owner lectured us not to use our ISP email but to go with something else. When we said we used Firefox they said use Chrome. We said that we had to use it because our bosses server was tuned to use firefox for the software written. It was like I was talking to the wall, ignored, and they began the talk over again. OK for this, we were promised to transfer the data from the old computer to the new. Thank, God that I had put all the stuff they could have transferred on a thumb drive and spent most of the next day fixing what they screwed up. So, we had to pay a$225 and my wife still wants to know what that was for. I am assuming it is their labor fee for nothing. Granted stand alone computer repair shops are few. I had hoped that they would have been a little more upfront, when they quoted us $75.00. SO... I recommend that they dont talk down to customers, many of us have been in the computer business use for the past 50 years. Just because we bring in the beast, it might be because we dont want to fool with it ourselves. If I have a cavity in my tooth, I could get out my dremel and drill it out myself ,mix a bit of resin, and pack it ok. but I dont do that. They could post a labor per hour rate. They claim a free estimate, which they do, but then x amount of dollars per hour labor rate. We shouldnt have to buy our own repair parts either and if the job is beyond their ability, please tell me. Will I go back? I hope I do not have to, that the new computer is better. I did have to get everything working, get rid of the free backup system, to put the os on auto backup, check permissions, get my monitor to work and to set the network to private rather than public. However.... they are nice people, I kept looking for Sheldon Cooper in the back. Perhaps he wrote the script for the techies. I do wish them luck, they are trying, but my experience and the price of $225 was a bit more than what I got out. I still dont know what they did.

I spent $210 and received fast service and a computer that does run well. I also had my photo albums erased. I use a publishing company - MY PUBLISHER - to make photo books. I make a year in review working on it daily for the entire year. I had photo albums waiting to be published. I had to take the upgrade online to get my books published. Thus I turned to 600 Monkeys to fix my getting online problem. I specifically said I care about "MY PUBLISHER" and my photos. I can not recreate what is in that. There were over 8 albums ready to publish. When I went in to pick up my computer - fast turn around about a day- I asked where the program was. Couldnt find it. So, I took my computer home and spent a lot of time searching for my beloved work. I reinstalled the program and called 600 Monkey back. I was told we want you happy, just come back, Im sure we can find it. NOPE, everyone looked, even the owner. I was then told 600 Monkeys could spend more of my money looking for it. REALLY???? I was pretty specific about this when I dropped it off. He wanted to charge me $80 an hour to find my work that should have been saved. So, now, I am really upset. The pictures were of high school graduation, a 16th birthday surprise party, the last days of my Grandma and father-in-law (both of which I deeply loved). SO DISAPPOINTED and YEP, MAD! So I have copies of the photos. BIG DEAL. I do not have the details to recreate the books or the HOURS I already invested. That is why I made it to start with. I had 8 books ready. Courtney tried really hard. But she also said My Publisher cheated by storing work in a different file than they were used to using. Im sorry but that is WHY I MENTIONED it was really important to me to start with. I hate computer stores - all of them. I never have good experiences which is why I came to 600 Monkeys, they promised it would be different there. Yep it was a different store same story. Would I go again? Mavbe, but not with anything I truly loved. Would I recommend them? Here are the facts: Fast Service. Friendly while it is in their favor. My computer does run well. Very DISAPPOINTED! An apology or a what can we do to remedy this would have gone a long way rather than add insult to injury by telling me you are willing to waste my money and your time looking for something I asked you to protect. YES, Very upsetting! Furthermore please do take 600 Monkeys advice - NEVER USE SOMEONE YOU DONT LOVE AND TRUST TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR COMPUTER! I learned the hard way.

WOW factor! I purchased a new laptop October 2016 from a big box store. It came with a one year warranty. A couple months ago It began randomly shutting down with the infamous blue screen and various error messages. I called the manufacturers repair hotline and literally spent hours trying to repair with their help. It came to the point I needed a full recovery and would loose all my data. For them to save my data would cost me 39.00 up front and 14.95 per month because I didnt purchase the service contract. I heard about 600 Monkeys on the radio and decided to give them a try even though i knew there would be a cost involved. IT WAS STRESS FREE. They looked at my unit while I waited, laid out a game plan that made sense and had it repaired in a couple days. Their pricing was extremely reasonable for what they did and when I had a question the next day handled it in seconds by remote access. No appointment needed, just friendly, respectful customer service, with no run around.. Steve D
