I really hope all the bad reviews here keep people from going to this place. My girlfriend and I dropped her car off on Monday, June 18 to have one of the tires changed and to do a basic fuel system tuneup because the car was stalling at idle. They called back the next day and said they couldnt get the car to replicate the problem - which it had been doing for nearly 2 weeks straight every single time the car was driven, which means they didnt drive the car - and that they thought the entire fuel system needed an overhaul. New distributor, new spark plugs, fuel system clean, change a couple of sensors and oh-while-were-at-it your engine bracket needs to be replaced and all of the belts are bad. "If you want to fix the problem with the idle, it will be around $850." That all seemed a bit excessive to us, knowing the history of the car, so we had them put on a new tire and paid for it along with the $80 charge for checking the cars computer that "didnt throw any flags". We were trying to have the car fixed it was driven to Lexington for the week, but had to make the trip this morning directly after the car was picked up from Firestone. We were given a list of things that they were going to do if we had OKd the $850 charge and half of the charge ($460) would have been to replace the CV joints (!!) in the front end. Ya know. The CV joints. The joints that keep YOUR WHEELS FROM FALLING OFF OF THE CAR WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING CAUSING CERTAIN DAMAGE AND POSSIBLE DEATH. Yeah, those ones! No one ever said anything about that. Not that they were worn, that the boots were bad, or that they needed to be replaced, or that if they werent replaced that we would be in any kind of potentially fatal danger, nothing. It was pure scam, daylight robbery, sleazeballery. The car (thankfully) made the trip to Lexington where it was taken to a trusted mechanic who drove the car around the block, recognized the problem and cleaned the throttle - thats it! - and now everything is fine. And no, the CV joints did not need to be replaced, or the engine bracket, or the distributor, or the spark plugs. This place is the reason people are afraid of mechanics. Please, please dont waste your money on anything other than MAYBE an oil change in an emergency. Theres a new dent in the front bumper that I swear wasnt there before, but what do I know - Im a nameless, faceless open wallet there.

Avoid at all cost!!!!!!!!!! Youll NEVER be able t go to this place and get reasonable service, prices and quality work done. Even if you take your car in for the smallest issue, they will ALWAYS come back with "strings attached!" Took my car in for MINOR repairs a few weeks ago, since I had a firestone credit card. I received a price upfront, but by the time repairs were done, all of a sudden it became more expensive. I was told I needed another part on my car, and I agreed to the price with LABOR included. The next day(since I waited 3 hours and it was closing time), the Manager was FURIOUS, ANGRY, NASTY, and UNPROFESSIONAL, when he found out that one of his workers from the day before, gave me a price with labor included. All of a sudden, he wanted to charge me TRIPLE for the part. After a brief argument and PROOF of the price quoted from the previous day, he snatched the invoice paper and walked away angry simply because I would not allow him to charge me TRIPLE for a small part, that wasnt even that expensive. In other words, he TRIED to CON me out of MORE money. Good thing I had a copy of the previous quote! Their work sucks, and it takes hours for them to do a simple job. Why? Because the LABOR itself is more expensive than the part. So the longer they take, the more money they get. They will take a long time just to make a profit off you. As for the firestone credit card, they will TRY to take every bit of the amount you have been approved for. Be careful when going to this location and the one on Outer Loop in Louisville. Both locations are rip offs in my opinion. I had a very DECEPTIVE experience at BOTH location. After my car was fixed, I still hear noises coming from the problem area. No one has time to take their car back and forth to an auto repair shop day after day and wait HOURS for them to fix it, when it should have been fixed the FIRST time. Horrible service, and they have a NASTY manager at the downtown Location.

Where to start? I went to this Firestone twice. The first time was for an oil change and it took hours. Thinking the first time was a fluke, I went back for other services at a later date. Same thing as well as they tried to up-sell several services I did not need. I went to the Firestone on Outer Loop and explained to them how terrible service at this Firestone has been. Apparently, they hear that a lot. They were completely slammed, but provide wonderful customer service and are done when they tell you they will be! I have an appointment at the Outer Loop Firestone today, however, I work downtown. I called the Firestone on Broadway and had the following conversation: "Thank you for calling Firestone this is so & so, how may I help you?" He then proceeds to put his hand over the phone and speak to someone else. I wait until he is finished and he says "Hello???" in a rude tone. I said, "I apologize, are you speaking to me or the ---" He cuts me off and very frustrated he tells me he is having three conversations at once. I told him I would just call back when he wasnt busy, but let me tell you, I will not be taking anymore business to that location. If that location isnt going to get its act together, it needs to be shut down. Disappointing ALL THE WAY.

I took my car up here and dropped it off with a list of stuff around $800, The guy calls me an hour later and says and I quote "I dont wanna do $1000 worth of work and its not gonna fix your problem.". The problem i had was that the guy didnt want to do the work. I know he was concerned about one big problem, which was there was no heat in my car; I told him that. he said he spent 3 hours trying to figure out my problem, which was the heater core. He said by fixing this, it will put heat in my car. I also told him about the antifreeze leaks and other stuff that were on the list. He said he would look at it after he fixed the heater core. He said he would call me when it is done before the end of the day. He didnt call at all, I had a friend drive me back up there, when i asked if my car was done, it took them 10 minutes to find my keys, and he said it had been ready a few hours earlier. They fixed the heater core which i paid for, and didnt get anything else fixed because the heater core was so damn costly. He should have fixed what was on the paper, and I could have worried about the heat later. I think they fix what they want to fix, and have you running back for your other problems.
