I called this unethical repair company on behalf of a small, local non-profit in the area. A 2005 Trailblazer with low mileage was brought into this location for diagnosis after the transmission developed a leak. Initially, we went to Pep Boys, who provided excellent advice and service, but after ordering new hoses for the transmission they were concerned their may be more significant transmission issue. They did not make the initial repair they had planned, charged no fee, and advised that we go to Meineke who has more expertise in transmission work. Meineke said the issue was a common problem with Trailblazers, and that they could make all necessary repairs for $450. The repair was made, and the Trailblazer broke down the next day on the road with less than 30 minutes of driving with a completely failed transmission. The non-profit requested a partial refund of the $450 spent on the initial repair, and Meineke refused. Meineke denies that it made a misdiagnosis, or that it missed any transmission issue, and stated they "fixed the leak" which is what they were paid to do. I explained they were paid for their expertise and diagnosis, as well as the repair, but they said they were not paid to diagnosis anything and just fixed what they were asked to. So I guess when you go into this shop you better know exactly what needs to be fixed and tell them accordingly. This is the most nonsensical thing I have ever heard come out of a mechanics mouth. He also said the transmission was absolutely fine when we brought it to their shop. I noted to them, if that is the case, then what did they do in the repair that made the transmission suddenly fail immediately the next day upon driving? There was obviously a more significant transmission issue that they missed. The sales manager will say he was cussed at during this conversation. I did say this was bullsh*t because sometimes you have to call it like it is. In case you think this is a legitimate business, in the end they offered us a rebuilt transmission for $4,100. We called Discount Transmission on Poplar Level Road that confirmed a price of $1,650 for a rebuilt transmission with similar warranty. Do yourself a favor and avoid this shop at all costs.

I went there once for an oil change. They told me on the phone to bring it in, and they had openings to do it. I asked if I should set an appointment. They said no need, just come on up. I was going to do it on my lunch break, since its pretty close to work. I drive up, and guess what? No openings. I waited for 40 minutes before they even started on my oil change. Today I needed an alignment. I called and asked about openings as I was walking out the door. Again, I was going to try to squeeze it in at lunch. They told me bring it on up, they could do it. I clearly asked if they had time to get to it when I got there, and they said yes. I told them I didnt have a lot of time so if they didnt, I was going to go elsewhere or wait until later today. They said they had time. I get there, and guess what? A car is on the alignment rack. I asked how long it would be. They said 2 hours. I was shocked, and they told me the alignment takes at least an hour to do. I dont know how they go about doing alignments, but Ive never had one take that long. Even if it does, the car on the rack shouldnt need an additional hour. I left the keys, they said it may be quicker. I hopped in my buddies truck (who followed me there) and we were going to grab a quick lunch at Hardees just down the road. We get back to Meineke 40 minutes after dropping the car off and they havent started yet. I picked up the keys. I could have left it there, and picked it up later. However, I dont like being lied to. If you tell me you can get to something then get to it. Dont tell me that just to get my business and have me wait. I wont be going back to Meineke. Also note : The new Hardees sucked too, thats probably Meinekes fault too for putting me in the bad mood before eating. Will evaluate again at a later date.

I write two or three reviews a year for anything and if I choose to it is for one of two reasons: it was great or it was awful. This location is great. Josh, the manager, is awesome and came right out, checked my car which was making an awful noise, took it right back and had one of his guys look at it. The heat shield had come lose, they cut it off and wouldnt even let me give them a $20 for lunch for the guys because they "just got done" and said "we were good." That is the kind of person you want to do business with who is not ready to nickel and dime you to death. On top of it, we sat and talked while the mechanic cut and Josh is a three time deployed Vet. I will support our troops given any chance while active or in civilian attire! I read someone talk about markup and franchise fees. Guess what? Unless you are ready to do the work yourself or are lucky enough to find an "honest" independent mechanic, you will have markup. Give your business to someone who at least treats you right and these guys will do that for you!

I moved to New Albany a few years ago and have struggled to find a decent place to take my truck for work. Most places just made me feel like a walking dollar sign. The Meineke on Charlestown was the complete opposite. Friendly, upfront advice without taking advantage of clients who might not know much about vehicles. They do solid, quality work, and they are quick about it. Easily best vehicle repair service I have had in a long time. Thank you Josh, Gary, and Josh B.! I foresee another pizza in your future! Side note: I see some folks had bad experiences. I have been there quite a few times over the last few months. Any time there might have been an issue with service, it was rectified on the spot with no extra charge. These guys are serious about making sure you have a good experience. No one is perfect and I have a lot of respect for the guys here who take a lot of pride in their work and want to make sure if there is a problem it is corrected to your satisfaction.

These guys are pretty great! I had to get some brake and tire work done and they were very friendly and helpful. Gary was so helpful and informative and I genuinely enjoyed his presence! He worked very hard to make me aware of what work was being done, how much, and what I could do to make it happen. Its not easy work to deal with people spending money on any product and he should be recognized for how well he does it. The establishment is clean, the coffee was fresh, and the bathroom was also very clean. Our car drives so much better and we feel like our car has had a make over. We will probably always bring it here to get repaired.
