Massive wait, which would be fine if there werent several tables visibly open that were supposedly reserved. At a very minimum, put a reserved sign on those tables so people in line arent wondering why theyre waiting when multiple tables within sight are open. Funny enough, those tables sat untouched for the entirety of the 45 minutes we waited, so clearly not the most well thought out reservation policies. There were also a handful of four person tables that opened up after prior eaters left, which were promptly cleaned off and then sat untouched for 10+ minutes. I literally stared at an empty table that wouldve seated the three of us, asked the hostess why we cant eat there, was told it was reserved, and then was seated at that same table 10 minutes later by the same hostess. If its a matter of not having enough servers to seat people promptly when tables open up, then hire more servers to meet your demand. But I highly doubt thats the case. Either way, gross incompetence and lack of common sense by management. And for whatever reason, coffee is served in a cup filled near the brim without a plate underneath because they must assume diners like their tables covered in liquid. Only reason this is two stars instead of one is because our server, Sarah, was very nice.

We consistently tried this place but the food is always so far and the service on a similar level. Today however, everything went to a new low when we put our name in for Table 6 and waited patiently but then another group of six came in was the young man the hostess seemed to know and she seated them ahead of us at the table for 6. She didnt proceeded to try to seat us at the table for 4. As I walked out I asked the bartender who was in charge and she seemed confused by the question so I told her just to tell the person that we werent going to come back and why. Apparently, her boyfriend was at the end of the table and didnt like my complaining to her about situation and started to cuss and ultimately shoved me. I asked them to please call the cops and a gaggle of for females proceeded to stand around for 10 or 15 minutes talking about what happened and what to do while nothing was getting done. Young man wisely left. The whole place is run buy a bunch of amateurs and teenagers. They have no professionals in the place at all.

There was 3 issues that are reasons for this rating. 1. My friend ordered a Rye whiskey on the rocks. Besides delivering the drink well after the rest of us, it wasnt the drink he ordered. He told them to change it to The Whiskey neat. The drink they brought was very cloudy, like unfiltered apple juice, definitely not the drink he ordered. He ended up having to go manager to get the right drink. 2. The food took at least 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen. 3. I ordered the Smoked Trout & bourbon cream pasta with NO pecans. It came with pecans. None of this was the servers fault. It was the bartender & the kitchen. All of the food tasted good.

Both my wife and I love North End Cafe. We eat there on occasion. The menu is diverse and can please everyone- vegetarians, vegans and even gluten free! We have been there for breakfast and for dinner and both are great. Breakfasts offer good portions of traditional am foods- eggs, pancakes bacon etc. the hearty breakfast will leave you stuffed with leftovers. The potato melt was excellent and a favorite. For dinner weve had the vegetable salad which is a favorite light dinner. The salmon and brisket and Ruben were all good. Weve always enjoyed the wait staff. This is not a place to "be seen" or "trendy" but it offers great food at good prices.

With so many great restaurants on Bardstown road, I will not be returning here. Overall, this place is maybe on par with Big Boy to slightly better. I dont know why I got the steak - it was clearly frozen then probably microwaved - a chewy mess. Chicken was good. Mashed potatoes are broccoli were good. At least nothing they served us was greasy. The cheesecake was rubbery and flavorless - more frozen stuff off the Sysco truck. The best food they gave us was the cheese plate. Service was good. Clean and nicely decorated inside.

Ordered steak & eggs with fried potatoes and an english muffin with a cup of coffee. Food was acceptable. Potatoes were tasteless (no seasoning used), the steak and eggs were just fine. Service was awful. Served and gone and didnt see her again until about 1.5 hours later when I asked for a refill on my coffee. She wasnt happy about getting it. I removed the tip from the bill I had just signed. $2.75 for a cup of coffee smaller than a Starbucks small and no refills = dissatisfied customer.

I like this place because of the overall quality of the food. Its consistently good, portion sizes are nice for the price, and there is something for everyone. They serve their whole menu all day, including breakfast, and they have their sister pizza restaurant next door. Occasionally, the service is a little slow, but mostly its pretty good as well. I visit this restaurant regularly. They are also very good about making it right on the rare occasion that you arent satisfied with your meal.

Felt like we were imposing on the staff. They seemed too busy chatting to wait on patrons. Forgot our drinks and slow service on a time and day when there were very few customers. My favorite dish the curry sauté was not as good as the Frankfort ave location. The chicken seemed left over and dry. The place was next to empty and we were jammed next to two diners and had to asked to be moved. We asked for a container for left overs and it seemed to be an impossible request.

Waitress chose to seat her friends before the people with the same number of guests who arrived substantially earlier than them. She then seated the first group at a four topper table and chose to add 2 more chairs. Asked for the manager, but employees talked to other employees and simply ignores the request. The first group sitting at the small, crowded table decides to leave before ordering anything. Bartender pushed one member of the group on the way out.

Good hostess, very bad front management. Waited an hour to be seated and have order taken. This is the worst breakfast I have had in years. Received our food and it was very bad. I love breakfast but I was very disappointed. I had two bites of what they call sausage gravy and biscuits. The smell and taste of the gravy was horrible. Was told they would take if off my bill but alas they did not. Cost me $37 to learn my lesson.

Food, atmosphere, and service... all good! This local restaurant has a menu that leans toward healthy and items are made with ingredients grown as close to home as possible. Good: The mushroom lasagna was the best Ive ever had. In terms of both looks and taste, the attention to detail of all the dishes at my table were impressive. Service was great on my Friday evening visit.... could not have been better.
