Living out of state, with a child at LSU and a truck in need of repair, I was skeptical about getting an honest opinion and estimate. I had no idea about which shop to choose - so I looked at the reviews on Google, used my best judgement, called Gordon & Sandifer, crossed my fingers .... and Mark answered the phone. The whole story consists of phone calls, diagnostics, tests, and Mark and team trying to get our F-150 to repeat the same problem our child was experiencing. At my request, Mark was gracious enough to continue to hang on to the truck and keep trying to find the issue. My point is that if you are looking for good, honest, people of integrity that try to do what is right and deliver great customer service, Gordon & Sandifer is the place you want to conduct your business with ... especially if you live outside of town/state. Geaux Tigers! :)

I recently purchased a 15-year old car from the original owner, remarkably low miles, well-kept. I only had it for a month when I was involved in a no-fault accident. Based on the insurance company’s recommendation, I went to Gordon & Sandifer for a second, more thorough evaluation. I could not have been more disappointed. If a body shop could have bedside manners, theirs was terrible. There was no eye contact, no smile, and no handshake. After tallying up an estimate that was nearly double the adjuster’s original estimate, I was told the car was too old and not to bother repairing it. I left feeling discouraged, dejected, and hopeless. I cannot comment on the quality of their repairs since I wasn’t given the opportunity to experience it. The story does have a happy ending; I found another shop that was more than happy to fix my “new” car!

I have an ancient SUV, and they diagnosed and fixed the two problems I was having. Sadly, the parts required ended up costing me more than the book value of the vehicle, but I checked around and G&S quoted me a fair price for them, so no complaints with G&S on that! I thought the brake fluid leak was going to cost me a bundle (I was assuming master cylinder), but they found the tube/hose leak in a very hard to find place , got the part quickly from Suzuki, and got me back on the road quickly. The next day, I noticed a belt squeaking very loudly, and they had me stop by and tightened things up. Appreciate the good work!

Gordon and Sandifer is by far the best automotive repair shop I have ever done business with. I first went to their shop in 1980, and still do. Exceptionally honest and capable. Almost always the bill has come out somewhat less than I anticipated, and their diagnoses have alway been correct. These guys are expect mechanics, not just parts changers. The ONLY downside is they dont work on German cars: if they did, they would have ALL my business. This is one of the most trustworthy small businesses in Baton Rouge, and one of the most trustworthy small businesses of any type I have ever seen.

I chose them based on a friends recommendation to check out an older used car before buying it. I brought it in, and they looked it over, and the car turned out to have rust all over the undercarriage and brakes. The mechanic spent 20 minutes with me explaining everything and answering all my questions. He was very patient, and when I asked how much I owed him, he said dont worry about it. I wouldnt expect free service, but I think that shows that these guys are doing good business and arent just out to get your money.

Just got my car back from there for a service on a solenoid valve for emissions. I the A/C is blowing hot air now and the speedometer doesnt work anymore. I had the AC serviced less than a year ago and for both of these things to go wrong at the same time seems a bit sketchy. A close friend recommended them to me, but im not sure about it anymore. @Chloe, Im pretty sure they get their parts at PartsQuest or whatever it is. The only reason theyd get parts at austozone is if the other place didnt have it.

Ive taken my car in twice and they have charged me over $3000. I just brought my car in to another mechanic who said they used the cheapest parts from Auto Zone and overcharged me for them. The work they did didnt last and Im not having to get the same problems fixed by another mechanic. They charge outrageous labor fees. They kept the car for over a week each time when they said it would only be a few days. Overall...overcharging for cheap parts and unreliable work.

I tore up the back bumper of my 2012 Hyundai before even making the first payment! I understand that getting the paint job right can be a roll of the dice, especially with metallic-type paint such as the silver on my Elantra. There were some problems with the paint job the first time around, but they honored their warranty and repainted the bumper. Now it is as close to like-new as could be expected under the circumstances. On the whole, great job!

Car was scheduled for repair & paint job. Everything fell into place nicely. Only thing was some over sprayed clear coat on the opposite side of the car from the repair. Im sure if I pass back by one day & show them, they would wipe it down. The guy who runs one of the desk in the repair shop was nice & worked like he realized my time was valuable to me.

I read all of the reviews and figured it would be a great place to have car work performed. On the outside of the building they advertise that they install mufflers, which was what I needed installed. Sadly I was informed that they dont actually install mufflers, but they continue to leave the sign up which is false advertising.

I was pleased with the quality of service. I had an accident in late 2013. Gordon & Sandifer is on the insurance company list that is, no need in appraisal. I also heard about them from a person I trust. My car was ready in time and they called me when to pick my car up. They did all paperwork with the insurance.

Gordon and Sandifer consistently provides fair and ethical service on all of my familys vehicles. Labor rate is cheaper than a dealership and they never "shop" you for services your car doesnt need.
