DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THE COLOR WHEEL DAYCARE!!!! Specifically, on 17273 Highway 44, Prairieville, LA 70769. The Color Wheel Daycare has displayed incredible unprofessionalism and child neglect. My nephew is just under two years old and attended this daycare for about a year. First: They LOST my nephew one afternoon. When my sister-in-law went to pick him up, they had NO CLUE where my one year-old nephew was. About 15 minutes later, he was found in a dark classroom sitting in a corner with the door shut. We do not know how long he was in there before my sister-in-law arrived. The girl that was “watching” him that afternoon was fired, which was the least they could do. My nephew continued to attend this daycare while my sister-in-law looked for other child care options. All working families know how difficult it is to find a new daycare that matches your budget and the ability to get in quickly without being on a waiting list before enrolling. Second: Since the Color Wheel lost my nephew, the staff there displayed one unprofessional action after another. You would think the Color Wheel would be extra attentive and grateful my sister-in-law didn’t do more with the law to retaliate against such child neglect. HOWEVER, it has been stated that the site manager of this Color Wheel (Highway 42) told her afternoon crew to do anything they could to get my nephew “out” of their program. Since then, my 1 year old nephew received multiple write-ups daily for “inappropriate behavior” (Instead of going on a rant for what should constitute as appropriate vs inappropriate behavior for a one year-old, I’ll digress). What’s interesting is that his morning teacher, that kept him throughout most of the day (excluding later in the afternoon), rarely wrote him up. But, he would receive multiple write-up slips in the afternoon with the afternoon crew, the crew that was told to do what they could to get him out. Third: One afternoon the afternoon crew made inappropriate biracial comments about my nephew to my sister-in-law. SERIOUSLY? Have these unprofessional daycare workers been living under some sort of racist, uncultured rock? Fourth: It seems like this young and immature afternoon staff and site manager were seeking some sort of revenge for the ex-employee that was fired due to LOSING my nephew. This surprising unprofessionalism led to my nephew’s dismissal last week. WHY? Because his mother wasn’t friendly to the afternoon crew. She didn’t chat with them when she would pick my nephew up. What? I have a hard time wrapping my head around this entire situation. I wanted to warn all the Mommies and Daddies out there DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THE COLOR WHEEL (off of Highway 42)! All children deserve to be treated with respect and to be cared for with trusted, caring individuals.

I only toured here and choose a different school. The staff seemed nice and I liked the security measures. It did seem like they had a strong curriculum... But the class rooms were so small and just crowded with things. They had two classes in one room and it was just way to much stuff and people for the tiny space...
