3/16/16 AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE This Yarmouth branch has completely turned itself around within the past year. The new managment and staff know exactly how to treat a customer. Thank you for everything! Ill continue to buy Junkers and give you job security!! Hahaha 12/1/14 HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Last Tuesday I had an appointment to have my STUDDED snow tires that I purchased through you, installed. I picked up and paid for the car at the end of the day. After returning home, I realized (after driving it), that they did not "STUD" the tires, but did install "Studdable" snow tires... They also charged me disposal fees (a "disposal fee of $3/tire and another "maine state disposal fee") for the tires that were removed and placed in my trunk for later use. I have not yet been refunded for these fees. ALSO, after picking up the car the first time while I was checking out, I asked if they did an inspection like they always do because this is the first time Ive brought this car here and she said, "yes we always do" and looked at the checklist and said, "Nope! nothing was found!" but I have a 2002 Honda Civic with 215,000 miles on it that a friend has brought there recently and had a HUGE list of problems a couple of months ago when she brought it in. I do not believe an inspection was even complete... When I returned later that day on Tuesday night after I had picked up and paid for the installation, drove home and had to drive back, the woman did not appologize and first tried to talk me out of getting them studded, then tried to charge me for adding studs. After I asked if she could cover the cost of the studs for the inconvenience that I have been put through, of having to come back two additional times and for their errors, she agreed to cover the cost and re-ordered studded tires and told me that she would call once they came in.. On Saturday I called her and she said that they were in... So I made an appointment to have them installed today, Monday Dec 1st at 2:30 pm. I showed up to drop off the car at 1 and she said "for installation tomorrow, right?".... I said, "No, for installation today...like my appointment was made for." She says, "well the tires wont be here until tomorrow. I just found out this morning." Why was I not notified of this before I showed up?!?!?! She did not even attempt to appologize or seem like she even remotely cared.. Said that I needed to schedule an appointment for tomorrow, so I did. I would like to hear from a Manager ASAP or I will be cancelling my appointment and returning the tires and seeking business elsewhere. Emily Bickford I have been a customer of VIP for at least 6 years and have NEVER had such bad customer service.

I went into VIP for an oil change and discovered that the person who performed my previous oil change had over tightened my oil cap --- the fix of which came down to breaking it out so that a new oil cap could be used. I dont necessarily trust the company who previously changed my oil and would not be surprised if they had over tightened my oil cap the first time I got an oil change with them and figured they didnt need to notify me during my previous oil change that they could not take off the oil cap or replace my oil filter. Now, theres a part shop in the same building as VIP that has an oil cap that is advertised to fit my vehicle. However, the mechanic pointed out to the clerks who were helping me that that specific oil cap was a product for the newer models of my vehicle and that its thread was simply incompatible with my vehicles. Today, Im gladly going in again for the newly ordered oil cap installation, a new oil filter, a flush, and a new oil change (the oil change being free courtesy of this review). Moral of the story is that thanks to the wonderful customer service, their access and familiarity with the neighboring parts store, and the expertise of the mechanics my car will be/was serviced really well considering the nature of my vehicles oil system. I was going to give a four-star review instead of a five-star review because my oil change at VIP turned into a two hour appointment, which was a result of how busy they were, but they had free WiFi so heres five-stars.

I took my car to VIP because I needed to get a quick inspection sticker as I was leaving town and couldnt get into my normal mechanic. Even though Id just had a routine tune up with my regular mechanic a month before, VIP said the car failed inspection and told me I needed a $450 break job (double the cost of the break job Id just had a year and a half ago at my regular mechanic). I obviously told them I would take the car to my regular mechanic as this seemed very sketchy. I subsequently took my car to my regular mechanic (and borrowed a car to go out of town) where he reported no issues with the breaks or anything else and gave me my inspection sticker! I then went back to VIP to get my money back where they reported that they could not refund my money because the money all goes to the state inspection agency. This also is a lie I found after further investigation--the state takes ONLY A PORTION of the money but (OBVIOUSLY) not the entire amount. The guy I talked to was also extremely defensive even though I was polite and matter-of-fact about the whole thing. I believe this is because this is a common scam they run on people. I would NEVER use VIP again even despite its convenient location, not even to buy a single air freshener! Furthermore, even though I told the VIP servicer I thought I had a break light out, they failed to notice or replace this minor detail! VIP is TERRIBLE and Ive heard from others Ive talked to since about similar experiences.

TL;DR- Infamous with locals for scummy, dishonest service. They try to snipe people coming off of 295 with car issues. The only reason their rating is so high is because they offer a free oil change for leaving a review. (You have to show them the review.) I brought my car in for a simple state inspection, and I keep my car in great condition. I was told that the front control arms were loose. The guy wedged a crowbar in my wheel and shook it around... - a common scam mechanics will try to pull on customers they suspect to not be in the know. They tried this scam on my sister a few years earlier, too. I thought since I live and work nearby and see their mechanics all the time and am friendly with many of them, that they wouldnt try to pull something around on me. In the end, they wanted to charge me ~750 dollars for this simple repair. They then wanted to charge me for additional things not related to state inspections. I brought my car to my regular mechanic for inspection, and my car passed no problem. I asked him about the control arms and he said they werent loose at all, and that itd be around ~450 dollars to fix loose ones. In addition to this, Ive heard from many people that they offer a free oil change for posting a review in front of them in the shop. I havent inquired about this because I dont want them near my vehicle.
