I am very impressed and pleased with the staff and service at this Tires Plus location (Burtonsville, MD). The cost for parts and labor was very good (cant do a direct comparison since Ive never had this particular work done before, but I have a feeling my previous mechanic would have charged much more) and they made no attempt at "up-sells." The only things they recommended I have done, were directly related to the problem that brought me in! Unfortunately, this location is not normally very convenient for me, or I would make them my go-to garage for vehicle maintenance and repair. The check engine light in my Jeep came on a couple days ago and there was a noticeable problem with acceleration and shifting gears. I was going to be in the area overnight and another Tires Plus location had been recommended to me by a Good Samaritan when my Jeep overheated (engine fan malfunction) last year. I didnt go to Tires Plus for that issue since I was only about 50 feet away from an Exxon station at the time, but Ive been keeping them in mind. When I saw there was a Tires Plus so close to where I was going to be yesterday night and this morning, I gave them a call. Im really glad I did. When I called yesterday afternoon, I was also thinking about some other maintenance the Jeep needed, so I started off asking how long it might take to get that stuff done and for them to diagnose the check engine light. The Tires Plus guy I spoke with, Dave, asked me some questions about what I needed and any symptoms that might give a clue as to what the check engine light was about. At first, it seemed like it might be a transmission problem and if that were the case, Dave told me the other stuff I needed (regular oil and transmission fluid change) would be a waste of money and due to the mileage on the vehicle, they wouldnt be able to work on it. But what ended up happening is that Dave told me to swing by and hed do a quick check on the trouble code. For free. Just so that I would know what was wrong and wouldnt waste my time and money. As it turned out, the trouble code was *not* related to the transmission and I took the Jeep back there this morning as soon as they opened. They diagnosed the problem as a throttle position sensor malfunction and I was back on the road again with a smoothly accelerating Jeep in about 2 hours. In addition, when they let me know that the Jeep was ready, the mechanic asked if Id noticed any vibration when braking. I had not mentioned this to them, but I had noticed it. He told me that the rotors were slightly warped from being overheated at some point but that there was no need to get them replaced right away since it was not interfering with braking safely (which I already knew). There was no pressure to get it done by them today or at a future date--just a courteous FYI. Everyone I dealt with here was pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful. I would absolutely recommend going to them and only wish there was a Tires Plus closer to me!

Do not take your car here. I came in to get 4 new tires and an oil change. The tires I got at an okay rate and Ive had no problems with. However the minute I left my engine started to sound a little funny around 2500 rpm. I drove for a while before it got even worse - I took it to a mechanic who hooked the car up to a computer and got a faulty air flow sensor reading ($250). I then took the car to my trusted mechanic (Muhamed in DC) He informed me the oil trap had been loosened. The car was running terribly, and he reattached and tightened it and it fixed everything (he didnt charge me). A disconnected oil trap is a problem that will trigger your check engine light and when scanned will come up as a bad air flow sensor - not cheap. At Tires plus they give you a free 5000 mile tire rotation where theyll ask if the car is running okay and offer to fix it if its not - a tricky little scheme as your engine is probably running a little rough with an air leak in the oil trap they caused - and I should say: no way should that connection ever loosen without help. Beyond all this when I got my next oil change I discovered they had used the wrong weight oil. Ive never written a review like this.

DO NOT STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE, PLEASE...THIS IS A WARNING! ACT AT YOUR OWN PERIL! I have gone through a year and a half FIGHT to get Tires Plus in Burtonsville and Corporate to fix my truck that I paid them $1600.00+ to fix, they claim they did an additional $2800.00 at (No Charge to me, right), and have taken it back to them for the same issue more than 7-8 times, where it sits for weeks and I am renting cars during that time. They wanted an expert opinion so they towed it to the Toyota Dealer. The Toyota Dealer found that: TIRES PLUS NEVER FIXED MY FRONT AXLES! THATS RIGHT...NEVER TOUCHED IT. I almost slide sideways off of a ramp twice, believing that they had fixed my truck. They have not refuted this and now are making me an offer that will not nearly cover my costs. The people at Corporate are the "nastiest" people that I have ever done business with. They didnt fix m car and they act as if its MY FAULT! I would give a zero rating if that were possible.

After catching a flat on i29, I changed to my spare tire while in a dress as cars zipped by. I drive to the closest tire place (here) at 430. I pull in where a man is washing a car. I tell him I need a tire, he says were closed. I told him the shop door and Google maps says he closes at 5. He tells me that there are two cars ahead of me so he wouldnt be done by 5. It takes no more than 15 minutes the put a new tire on my existing rim and put the tire back on the car...... Then to add insult to injury, i spent the next 30 minutes looking for another tire place that was open while i watched the one guy finish washing a car and the other guy stand around and wait for the first guy to finish.... Had they helped me they wouldve had a client for life.... instead Im writing a review about a terrible customer service experience

If you wait while you get serviced, it can take several hours. I had shocks replaced and the wait time was 2 hours. Luckily, I was taking online courses and used the time wisely. Free coffee and TV. Lots of magazines. The work was always done right the first time. Get their credit card. You can postpone payments for several months. Just remember to track when payments are due. Also, with the card, you get better discounts on work you need to get done. They will fix or replace tires you get there for free. Just remember to keep the original paperwork.
