Holy cow...I dont write reviews often, but I couldnt wait to get home to write this! Let me start by saying that in my 23 years I have only paid for ONE haircut that I genuinely loved, which was ~7 years ago. Ever since then I have just developed low expectations for my hair because I never walked out of a salon feeling like it looked significantly better than before, and getting my haircut just felt like more of a chore then something exciting to look forward to. Today I went to LOOKs Salon for the first time for an appointment with Jennifer. Im not going to lie, I was a little nervous as I was informed that she was a "Junior Stylist" and new to the company and because of this her services were automatically 20% off. As soon as I showed up for my appointment I was greeted and given a tour of the salon, which was different but nice. It was actually much larger then I expected and had several different "shops" if you will, and as someone who gets lost easily I appreciated this :) After sitting in the waiting area for a few minutes Jennifer greeted me and introduced herself. I had my hair washed by another gentlemen who did a great job and towards the end they did this head massage thing that Ive never had done anywhere else. Jennifer then began cutting and styling my hair. Let me just say, I have very thick, long hair thats pretty damaged from the product I need to put in it for work on nearly a daily basis-I take sympathy on whatever stylist I get because its not an easy job. Jennifer took her time though and checked with me several times to make sure I was happy with the cut and that it wouldnt violate the hair regulations I have for work. In the end, it turned out absolutely amazing. After I had left the salon I had to go to the grocery store and right away I had two random people who complimented me on my hair, which has never happened to me before, so that should be enough proof right there :) Thank you Jennifer, and for selfish reasons I hope you work at LOOKS for a long time so I can go to someone who I KNOW will do a great job on my hair! Based on my first experience there I definitely recommend their hair services :)

I was not happy with the salon due to the service they provided, I went in wanting my hair jet black with blue highlights. What I got was jet black hair and I cant see the highlights. When I told the hairstylist that I could not see the highlights she stated "you will be able to see it when you go out side and the light hits your hair the lighting here is not that great". I tried to keep my composure. I then proceeded to get the opinion Of my girl friend who was also getting her hair done. I asked her do you see the blue highlight? she stated "no". the hairstylists who was doing her hair stated "no". I know Im not crazy thats two different people stating the obvious. There is no no blue highlights and if my hair stylist try doing it , it didnt take in my hair . Im very upset with the services I have received from the salon. I have gotten my hair done with them before And they have done a great job. What happen this time ? I felt like she was blowing me off and just wanted to get me out of her chair to get the next client. Which is unprofessional. The best part is when I went up front to tell your receptionist that I wanted to speak with a manager. She told me take a seat. I was left waiting for 45 minuets. I see the receptionist walk out the door I guess she was leaving for the day so I got up again and asked to speak to a manager. Then they said that they would look for the hair stylist to come talk to me I didnt see her until 20 minutes later. The hair stylist came to talk to me in front of my girl friend and stated to put her hands through my hair trying to show us that their were highlights, she her self could only find one really light highlights. Not happy at all!

I just moved to MD, and was nervous about finding a new salon. I started a new job that requires a bit more prep to my appearance in the morning. I felt totally unprepared to handle my very fine, very curly/frizzy hair. Meghan B took the time to give me MANY helpful tips for styling and hair care, which I truly appreciated. I feel much more confident in how to care for, style, and save time on my hair (both curly and straight styles!). She caught on to my needs and gave me a wonderful cut as well. Unlike most stylists, she suggested a few products in passing but did not push them on me which I appreciated. I ended up buying one she suggested after further exploring my needs. MEGHAN IS AMAZING, I am so happy I found her!!!

Its a beautiful salon and spa. It really looked profressional and elegant. I had a appointment for a facial but the esthesitian ran about half/hour late, which is fine. I understand that "things happen." So, once the facial began I was expecting an evaluation of my skin and be told what the esthesitian thought was best for it. She didnt evaluate it or even know my skin type.... so contining on, the massage portion of the facial was miniual 2mins maybe. Lastly, one thing that really confused me is why she left the room.... I pay for an hour service. I dont get why they get a break and get paid for it on my dollar. I am a satisfied client but I know when I like a service and when I love a service shown by my rating.

Amanda (Devacurl expert) is fantastic. I was a Ouidad follower for curls (mine are corkscrew, hair is fine, but lots of it!), but was unable to find a good Ouidad stylist in DC/Baltimore area. I decided to try the Deva cut, and I am very happy! The dry cut is so much better, as it keeps you body and avoids over-thinning. I learned a few new tricks, as well as the Deva product system dos and donts (there is a fair amount of overlap with Ouidad system). Amanda was 100% about understanding my wants for my hair and did a great job. If youre looking for someone to care for your curls, look no further. Even though specialty curl cuts are expensive, theyre worth every penny, as is Amanda!

I only recently started going to Looks Salon & Spa. I followed Crystal to Looks. She has been my stylist for years now and when she said she was moving it was a no brainer to follow her. Crystal is wonderful. I have never left an appointment disappointed with my cut or color. She listens to what my thoughts are and offers her opinion. I trust her and know that when she is done, I will love my hair. She is friendly and always on-time...Ive never had to wait. Shes great about keeping her clients in the loop about other events going on at the salon as well. The rest of the staff are always friendly and welcoming and the salon has a great vibe!
