I moved here coming up on 3 weeks ago. I went into Spherion 2 days after I moved to get the ball rolling on employment along with my personal job search. In the amount of time it took them to land me one interview, I was able to interview & gain employment at two different places. Its not for lack of me reaching out, either. I pride myself on being an open communicator, understanding to the demands of other peoples needs. After initially going in, I called in twice at the beginning of the following week to get an update on any potential interviews. Following my second phone call attempt, I got a call back same day & a interview scheduled for one week from then. The interview was this last Wednesday. It was not a pleasurable experience. The interviewer seemed unprepared, and I could tell that he did not read my resume based on the flow of the conversation. Granted, thats not Spherions responsibility, but its still relevant to the experience. Spherion is the point of contact, the facilitator for myself (the candidate) and the interviewer (the employer). I did leave with a sense that Spherion did not take the time to consider my talents, or my potential per the intake interview I had in their offices two weeks prior. I called Spherion the same day after interviewing with their client, and was told they (Spherion)will reach out to me. It has been 2 days and I have not heard anything. As I stated, I was able to land two jobs in the same time it took Spherion to get me one (terrible) interview. Not only that - but I was able to find work with organizations that honor my salary requirements. The Spherion rep openly scoffed that my request was $13, saying the best they could do was maybe $10 at most. Not only that, but my most recent position for the last year has been with non-profit work as an Administrative Coordinator & on-site facility operations. The rep did not recommend anywhere but call center work. On Spherions webpage, there was an advertisement for several office/admin positions. I inquired and was told that my past call center work was more relevant (? Ok?) -- not one to close doors immediately, I went with it. My advice? Dont go here. There are a few other employment agencies in the area. Always search independently as well. Dont let anyone back you into a corner & try to have you settle for less or compromise your career goals.

This business gets (zero stars) because: this agency practice racial discrimination. .I applied for an accounting position on line. I got a call back stating that they had my resume and that I was to come in for an interview. When I arrived there, I was told that they did not have my resume on file and then proceeded to tell me that there was a position for a receptionist. I replied , I did not come for a receptionist job and asked them why did they waste my time. They were very unprofessional. I would not recommend Hagerstown, MD branch to anyone.

This place is great! My husband and son got a job the same day. I walked in got an interview for the next day and then got offered a position. Fantastic! Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The whole onboarding process was simple and not lengthy. Much, much better than my previous employment service (starting with an M and ending with an R - it has been 3 weeks and I am still waiting on them to call me back for a job.) Spherion is definitely the place to go!

Absolute worst. For one they have no idea what they are doing, second of all they tried giving me a catering job on a Friday night making 7.25hr for 6 hour, and third they refused to mail or print out my W2. Worst experience ever.
