Over the years Ive been to a few employment agencies. This is my least favorite. In the past other agencies have either delivered my pay stub directly to me on my shift not only giving me my pay stub but checking up on me. Another offered it to me via password protected email and others mail it to you. Staff Smart forces you to come pick it up at their office which completly defeats the point of direct deposit. Getting paid a day or two sooner doesnt make that much of a difference. Also, I live 25 minutes away. Thats about an hour round trip every week. Plus when I filled out the deposit slip I sent in the mail. They refused to accept it. I had to do it in front of them. Who thief is going to steal my voided check and fill out the form with my correct info? It doesnt make sence bc the funds are going to my account anyways. Then I asked the agent a question and he tells me to ask someone I dont know, on a different shift for the answer instead of doing his job and finding out himself. Another thing, when work was closed due to a power outage they never contacted me. I drove 20 miles to work to see the lights out and the gates closed just to turn around and drive another 20 miles home. Finally, I complained to them about how I was being treated by a supervisor so they fired me. Doesnt make sense. The only good thing is they found me a job the next day after I filled out an application. I only recommend coming to them only if your desperate for work.

I am the President of Canalside Staffing and I wish to address two recent reviews that are not presenting accurate facts. We have no record of Y. Gonzalez ever applying with our agency, so we would not have any information on her to call her for work. The other review from Ryan K indicates an issue with receiving his pay stub. We do offer online password protected access for our employees to their employment records which has all historical payroll and assignment information available. If someone wants a printed stub, he is correct that we have it available in the office for pick up. We do deliver checks to a number of client work sites, but the company he was assigned to does not want us to do that. We try to make every applicant and employee feel welcome and we offer multiple options for getting your pay check. We have the paper check that we deliver to some clients, direct deposit as he indicated and Visa or MasterCard cash cards that we will load your check onto.
