CROOKS!! I went there because of the reviews, but THIS WAS A MISTAKE! My cars front end was damaged in an accident and I took it there to be repaired under the insurance. There are very nice, friendly, but its the wolf in sheeps clothing trick. After I picked up my car from being "fixed" I noticed that the outside temp gauge wasnt working. I knew they had replaced it, so called them up and they said to bring it back the next day. So I had to make another trip and take another day off work. They never fully admitted, but it had been improperly (or not at all) installed and they fixed it the 2nd time around. Two weeks later, I noticed that there was now a HUGE oil slick on my driveway where I park. I hadnt noticed it before because it is on a hill and Im always looking back when I leave and cant see over the hood when pulling up. Were talking HUGE oil slick, so much so that it was probably getting dangerous to drive my car! I called them and they said to bring it in again. Yes, another day missing work. They hadnt sealed something properly with the engine which caused the big leak. They are nice, but seem pretty incompetent, And if that wasnt enough.... The following week I bought an older used car for my teen driver and took it there for the Maryland State inspection. They quoted me that it needed around $3,000 of repairs before they would approve it!!! And get this-- The car has been slightly lowered but there is no MD law about lowering a car (the law addresses raising a car). When confronted about what the law says, they guy said, "well it was a judgement call, not what the law states." WHAT?!?! So you want me to get $3K of work done at your shop based not on the law, but a judgement call?!?! Additionally, they failed it because they said the tint was too dark. MD says you have to be getting 35% light coming through. I took it to a professional tint shop to be tested and they said it had 37% light coming through--2% MORE THAN THE BOTTOM LINE, SO BURNT MILLS LIED ABOUT THAT TOO. And then--get this--to their dismay, I raised the car at NO cost, no parts, nothing, bought new tires and had an alignment done for a small amount of money, SOMEWHERE ELSE, and when I called them up 5 days before the last day to do the reinspection, SUDDENLY THEIR INSPECTOR IS GONE AND WONT BE BACK UNTIL THE FOLLOWING WEEK!!! They said they would need to do a full inspection after 30 days, which was not my fault but theirs!!! YOUVE GOT TO BE FLIPPING KIDDING ME!!!! And now I will have to pay to have it all redone--which Im CERTAIN THEY WILL FIND SOME REASON TO FAIL IT! WOW! Will update this after the late inspection and likely be filing a lawsuit too. BEWARE--DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP, YOU WILL REGRET IT AS I HAVE. I WILL BE REPORTING THEM TO THE STATE AUTO SAFETY COMPLAINTS BOARD.

This is the first time I write a review about anything on the web. I am compelled to do so for this shop! As a lady, having car problem is on top of the "headache" list, with that comes the concern of being fooled without the ability to tell. My Lexus RX330 had an an air-compressor problem for 4 months. I first went to a Lexus dealer that wanted to charge $135 for just telling me what was wrong; then went to a 2nd Lexus dealer to be told that parts+labor would be $3,000. While in doubt, I asked a friend who knows cars well but lack the necessary tools to test and the friend offered an idea that would still cost $2,000. Thank God that the car was "bruised and dented" so it found its way to this auto shop! Mr. Eric, office manager, was very wise to suggest to me for a 3rd opinion... thank God I did not let my silly mind get in the way to turn down his suggestion! Mr. Bill, gifted technician, pin-pointed the problem and the whole thing was fixed for $245. I am thankful for a trustworthy business that does an excellent job such as this place! I will definately come for future repair without hesitation!

Embarrassing service. I needed a part of my bumper to be replaced and they held my car for days longer than they said they would without any explanation. When I finally dragged the reason out of them, I come to find they are simply waiting for the part I need replaced to arrive. I needed my car for work so I asked for it back until the part came in. When I parked my car in my garage, it simply died. They had disconnected the battery and failed to put it in again correctly. I had it towed back to Burnt Mills Auto the next evening, and they assured me the part was in and would only take 20 minutes to replace. I told them I would stop by at 4pm the next day on my way home from work. They assured me it would be ready. I showed up at 4:30pm, a half hour later than they said it would be ready, and they had yet to start installing the part. They began installing it when I showed up, and I waited around until it was ready. Not once during this transaction was I treated with respect. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.

This place is astoundingly terrible. I went there to get my car looked at since the check engine light was on. The man at the reception said that they were booked today and to drop off the car tomorrow. A reasonable statement and the next day being a weekday I asked how long approximately will it take to look at the car since I would need to take time of work. This is when things turned weird. The man promptly informed me that they could not help me and that I had to go. He went on about how I was in too much of a hurry and was telling him how to run his business. As I stood there surprised a fellow receptionist informed me more politely that they couldnt look at my car now and that I should leave. The whole experience was strange and left a bad taste. I wouldnt advise anybody else to go there.

Great guys. I barely got my ailing 2000 Lexus to the shop, and then gave "Nick" the long list of things that didnt work - thinking $3500+ in repairs. Nick looked up as if he had never heard such a litany of faults for a single car and mused, "So, do you want to keep the car?" "Lets start with an estimate," I said. The very next day Nick called, "Its ready to go - $307." Now, he may never give me a "90% discount" again, but Id never take a car anywhere else after this experience. Smooth, competent, quick, courteous, and they fixed things that werent even on my list. True story. Ask Nick.

Ive been taking cars to Burnt Mills Auto for years, They are consistent, honest, and reasonable about pricing and repair options. They even catch problems other shops only treat the symptoms of! There is a good reason their lot is full to bursting, they are simply the best, everyone knows it and takes their vehicles to them!
