Update: My friend told me to check out the owners response. The response is a joke. Instead of trying to correct the problem they want to blame the customer or act like the responses are coming from fake accounts. My message to you is take pride in your business, correct the problems and listen to your customers. Now I am beginning to believe that most of your positives were posted by the owner, talk about fake. Many of businesses have failed because of denial. I had not planned on posting the picture of the mess I left with but now I will down load it to the gallery. BIG ZERO. I gave it a one star only because the cite will not let you give it a zero. Went to Way-Z because I have been going into DC to get my hair done. My hair is cut very short on the sides and the top is bobbed under. First the stylist was wrapping my hair wrong and when I tried to tell her, she was getting upset. I dont know if it as a language barrier or she just was not listening. Then she curled the top with what looked like loose Shirley Temple curls. I tried to explain again. The it was just flat. She told me to give her a picture. Then I told her to use the curling iron instead of the flat iron. She told me she did not have one. What salon does not have a curling iron. After 4 attempts I told her to forget it. Then when I got in my car I keep smelling a burnt smell to only realize IT WAS MY HAIR. Tomorrow I will take the trip to DC. The sign should say ENTER AT THE RISK OF YOUR HAIR.

Way z is located in a very convenient location and is a very nice salon. Unfortunately a lot of the stylist are clueless, and the turn over rate is very large, so the stylist you have one week will be gone the next. I visted this salon many times and took my daughter as well. I was very pleased with some twists my daughter and I got until we were told that our hair was too long to get them anymore. They were the only thing i found that they did very well there. I had brain surgery that caused me to cut my hair after the part that was shaved grew out. I asked for a simple, particular hair cut and I was assured I could get it from photo i showed the stylist. She cut my hair, but what i got was a tragedy. She did not cut it how I wanted it, she cut it to the style she was doing. It was fine for the day, then it could never be repeated again. It was uneven and overall, really bad. The only good news is, she doesnt work there anymore. Many mistakes are made with scheduling, they had some unprofessional stylists, and I could not receive quality hair care, but i over looked many things, because options are so limited here. I say the stylist at Way-Z are bad, but most stylist in this area are bad compared to other places Ive lived. Bottom line, although I vowed never to go to way z again, it is okay with some styles. Good Luck.

I recently discovered Way-Z after having a full weave done at a pricey "boutique". I started having difficulty with their work the very next day and had to return for tightening. They took care of the problem, but tried to charge me an additional fee. I was livid. Less than a week later, more issues with the weave. Thats when I went online and found Way-Z. She did a "repair" and some tightening. She explained many issues that the pricey boutique did not. I guess they were in a hurry to get to the bank and did not have time to explain issues I may have with the weave since I have very soft, caucasian hair. I even saw them before hand for a "consultation". As Way-Z indicated, I had a problem with "loosening" of the braids in less than one week. Again, I placed a call to Way-Z! She saw me right away on the same day. One entire side of my braids had come out. Way-Z rebraided and tightened that side for me. It is holding firm and all is in place. The other side, with the original work...not so much. Ill be seeing Way-Z again to work her magic. This time I am going to have her take it out and redo it, the right way. I wish I had seen her in the first place! I find Way-Z to be knowledgeable, pleasant, attentive, easy to talk to, reasonably priced and a true professional. I highly recommend her!

Love love love my hair every single time I go here. I cut my hair April 3, 2013 (yes, I know the date because I was attached to my hair and it was something hard for me to do). The cut was to give my hair a fresh start, I been natural but I never really wear my hair so with all the weave it stretch the elasticity out my hair in different area. Anyway, I cut my hair and recently moved to Waldorf from Bethesda (where my hair tech is), so one day I googled and left it up to yelp...went to Wazy explained to her my hair and what Im expecting (just natural care and whatever recommended, because I dont know about hair). Wazy by far is one of the most knowledgeable stylist I can honestly say KNOW natural hair. When I left there my hair felt amazing, full of life, nice, soft, simple amazing. On the second visit, same result and this time I ask for product recommendation; which I bought and they work amazing. MUST VISIT THIS PLACE, WAZY KNOWS HER STUFF in natural hair care from my experience. An did I add, Im beyond picky and walked out happy.

July 23, 2016 BEWARE !!! Way-Z Hair Salon WILL double-book your hair appointment. I had scheduled an appointment to get individual braids about two weeks in advance and as I was getting my hair braided, another customer arrives about 30 minutes after I did and my hairstylist asked me if it was okay for her to stop braiding my hair to braid the other customers hair because she was only getting four braids and I flat out said No. Then my hairstylist and the desk clerk were apologetic to the other customer like it was my fault that they double-booked the appointment and that pissed me off. The other customer was not serviced until my hair was braided about three hours later. Also, before getting your hair done, verify the price of the style you want because they will INFLATE the price even if you have received the exact same service with the exact same hairstylist in the past. The owner of the salon, Way-Z, is very much aware of what goes on in her salon. I will NEVER let anyone at Way-Z Salon do my hair ever again.

I honestly do not understand why Way z keeps saying all the bad reviews are fake. I went there about a year ago for a weave. I think the owner did my hair. The braids underneath were bulky and she seemed confused about how to sew on a closure. It came out OK. But for $200, I wanted at least good. I went there a previous time for a cornrow hairstyle I think it was. They definitely double booked me and kept trying to get my stylist to stop doing my hair and do another womans hair. I didnt understand that because I was already in the chair with her parting my hair. They spoke a language I did not understand but my stylist was VERY angry and refused to stop doing my hair. The reason I know this was the topic of discussion is because a woman waiting kept getting upset because she made an appointment. They kept gesturing my stylist to the woman. She would not move though. I decided not to go back. That hairstyle came out good though.
