Although I have not (yet) tried a class at MassBJJ, both of my kids have greatly enjoyed their time there. My daughter loved her experience so much, she set up her younger brother with a membership for Christmas. At first I was a little nervous watching them try out the techniques on each other at home, but I have since observed them helping each other learn and bond over the experience. It is great to watch both of them develop these skills, find something to be passionate about, and also get out of the house to exercise. They often share stories about their instructors, friends theyve made in class, and other elements of this unique environment that they are excited to participate in. From what theyve described, all of the instructors (Nate, Scott, Nick, Mike, Jim, etc.) are patient, knowledgable, informative and provide an atmosphere that my kids are proud to be a part of. If you are thinking about enrolling your kids in a martial arts school, this is the place to send them.

This school is the best martial arts school I have ever attended. I was nervous to try out jiu-jitsu, but after the first five minutes I felt at ease, and the first week was free. The teachers are incredibly helpful, classes always provide an opportunity for the student to grow, and everyone there is always open to help the student become their best. They offer both kids and adult classes for jiu jitsu, and kickboxing, wrestling, and no-gi jiu jitsu for just adults. With the UFC craze sweeping the nation, this school will provide the atmosphere to shape wanna-be fighters into real competitors by providing the basics off of which to really grow. I cannot recommend this school high enough.

I’ve been attending the fundamentals BJJ class and dabbling in kickboxing since the middle of March. It’s probably not hard to find a school that will help a newcomer put down a good foundation for their development, but where Ive found Mass BJJ really distinguishes itself is how much emphasis is placed on a highly positive culture. From their first class, a beginner is made to feel welcome and surrounded by people who want them to succeed, regardless of how humble or lofty their goals are. This is a place where the community under its roof is held just as high as the technical growth of its members.

Mass BJJ is awesome. The instructors are excellent - knowledgable, friendly, helpful, always willing to answer questions, and genuinely want to get to know you. The people who train here are a reflection of them. Theyll introduce themselves, help teach you (despite the fact theyre not the instructor), and are just all around nice people. I definitely had my apprehensions walking into a new gym, and to train in BJJ which Ive never done before. But everyone makes that transition easy. I couldnt recommend this place highly enough. Hope this helps you get in there and train!

I will never be an MMA fighter. Thats not why I go to class. But the best part of Mass. BJJ is that no one cares. I have never met a nicer bunch of people spanning all ages and backgrounds. And the instruction is top notch. There really is something for everyone here. If you have ever been interested in trying BJJ but, for some reason or other have been afraid to start, then this is the place for you.

I have been training in the martial arts for over 20 years. I have been to many different schools though out the years. This is by far the best school that I have been to. The instructors are awesome. This is the best shape I have ever been in. I have lost 10 pounds in the past year. Not bad for being 42 years old next month. Thank you Mass BJJ

I have been training at Mass BJJ for a little less than a month and so far have only positive things to say. The gym members are welcoming to new members, the facilities are clean, and the instructor, Nate Ryan, is both articulate and patient. If you want to start training in bjj, then Mass BJJ is an excellent choice.
