This was the worst move experience weve ever had. The movers at our origination were lazy, careless, and showed up 6 hours late. They complained the entire time, took shots of alcohol, and were on their phones regularly. Worst of all, they ran out of boxes, tape, and brown moving paper. We had to purchase these items in order for them to complete their job. (Im sorry, but I cant take your company seriously if you run out of supplies...Note, we were never reimbursed for this, and I estimate we spent at least $70 on 10+ rolls of tape and plastic crates to serve as "boxes.") I was finally able to speak to the apparent owner of the company, who was completely unhelpful when these issues were addressed; instead she was disrespectful, rude, and told us she could not do anything to help us. By this point, it was very late and there was still a lot that needed to be packed. We requested that the movers leave and come back the following day to complete our move. However, she told us if the movers left that night, no one would be able to come back and complete our move for over a month. (What?!) So, we had no choice but to continue packing...and we didnt finish until well after midnight. (Insane.) Also of note, we are a military family, and this was supposed to be a full service move. Instead, my husband and I packed alongside the movers all night. I think I packed far more boxes than any of the lazy movers. (But at least the boxes I packed were properly packed.) And if we wouldnt have helped, they wouldnt have finished until 8:00 am the next day, no joke. Our belongings were not treated with care, and as a result, many of our things were damaged upon the receipt of them at our destination. An example of this was our 3-month old mattress, which was packed only in a cardboard box (no mattress bag or plastic wrap) and then left out in the pouring rain for 30 minutes before it was finally loaded on the truck. As another example, we had artwork that was not boxed, instead just thrown in the crate completely unprotected. The list could go on and on, but Ill spare you all the gory details. After they finally left our apartment complex, our night just kept getting better. When we went outside, we noticed several of our important documents that they left scattered in the driveway of the complex. Well, remember how I said it was pouring? Yeah, they were completely destroyed due to the rain. They also left behind trash (plates/cups/pizza boxes) in the lobby of our luxury apartment building. Disgusting. The words disrespectful and reckless do not even begin to sum up our moving experience. All I can do at this point is urge you to find another moving company. Please, learn from our misfortune and find a company that values and respects their customers. As you read other negative reviews, youll note the owner of the company responds to comments and tries to justify these negative reviews. Instead, she might spend her time training her employees, ensuring they are fully prepared (i.e., have adequate supplies), and perhaps running some background checks. Lastly, the delivery men at our destination were appalled at the way our belongings were packed. They repeatedly asked with shock and horror on their faces, "Who in the world packed your stuff?!" I think that says it all. Consider yourself warned.

My husband had his wedding band stolen as well as his rolex he bought when he was overseas. Very unprofessional from the receptionist who doesnt know what going on, to the movers who argue and threaten each other while on the job. Disgusted and highly disappointed. My husbands ring was a one of a kind family ring... how do you replace that? Our move was through the military. After about 2 hours of work, the 3 out of the 4 guys moving us diappeared and only one man was left helping us for the rest of the 6/7 hours. 2 guys returned arguing and threatening each other about who was doing work and who wasnt... We ended up packing our own stuff for the last 2 rooms (one of whoch we did entirely ourselves) to help things move along -we had to be on the road- 33 hr drive per military orders!! Yeah we had a lot of items that were damaged, we are mostly understanding since that can happen when you move... (but especially when you have a careless crew). The empty ring box and empty rolex box is completely unacceptable, not to mention a few other items of value that are also missing... If you value your items, I would search elsewhere, paying a little more is worth it!! Unfortunately we did not hace a choice in our company, since we got last minute military orders... we will be reporting this company. No "so sorry letter" will cut it. Shame, shame!!

Ive moved quite a few times in the past few years, and so I can say with confidence that Ayer Moving & Storage has surpassed any moving company Ive used so far. Heres a few things they did exceptionally well: -Sales rep Nick was professional, prompt and super friendly. He made arranging my move a cinch. -The moving crew that arrived was hardworking, careful, friendly and fast! They also had this efficient and awesome system where one guy was responsible for wrapping all my furniture up once it got to the truck, while the other two focused on moving items to and from the truck. -The price was very competitive based on other movers I had used. -The crew arrived late but still beat my move-out deadline. The manager of the company arrived with the crew to apologize personally and make sure everything was still on track. It was a rough start - but they more than made up for it in their service excellence.

The best service I have ever had. The move was picture perfect from the start, called and spoke with Pam and she was wonderful in helping me on scheduling the move and at the final bill. Brian was great at coming to my house and giving me a quote (by the way right to the second on the quote.) Angel Lewis and Bobby worked like clock work (in the poring rain). Not any damage to any of my furniture and no water was on any fixtures etc. If you are looking foe a Professional moving company and outstanding movers, Ayer Moving and Storage is #1, GYSGT Jim Leeber USMC (Ret)

HORRIBLE!!!! Do not use this moving company. They charged me a ridiculous amount of money to move my belongings from Boston MA to Frederick MD. After a week, they finally delivered. Most of my furniture was damaged and a cherished antique was ruined. Run, run, run from these people. ANYONE else would be a better choice.

Ayer Moving & Storage did a great job moving our belongings out of our house and into temporary storage. Nick and the office staff were very helpful in coordinating the move, and the three-member team that did all of the heavy lifting were very respectful and careful with our belongings.

Ayer Moving and Storage moved my entire office place to a new location. They were very professional and got the job done on time and on budget. Karen and Alicia were both very helpful in instrumenting this move. Thank you so much.
