I cant express how happy I am to become a member at Back Bay Boxing gym. John is an excellent trainer - very kind, humble, polite and patient! Best part is that he himself teaches all his classes. He keeps the size of his class small so he can focus on each and every member. Every one hour session is based on true HIIT regime and is very intense. Whether your goal is to become a professional boxer (with accurate techniques) or you want to have a meaningful and result realizing fitness workout session - whatever your goal is, youll get it fulfilled under this one roof! Youll definitely get the best experience out of it starting from your first class itself. The environment that John creates in his class and the people that come here are very positive and friendly. The class packages are very affordable plus the gloves combos and other cool Back Bay merchandise is available at the gym itself. This is all worth your time and money! I definitely plan to be a long term member at Back bay Boxing gym and be coached by John. This place receives all 5 stars for a reason! Id be lying if I said I am not tempted to try out other boxing gyms but what has stopped me is how great Back Bay Boxing and Fitness is. John (owner and instructor) is a well skilled, thoughtful and challenging instructor. Class sizes are small in comparison to what most boutique boxing gyms offer and thats the beauty of it--individualized attention from the pro himself. Whether you are new to boxing, looking to lose weight or training to get into the ring, John and BBB should be your go to. Unlike other boxing gyms, BBB and Fitness focuses on mitt work and technique. I have never been to a fitness class that has been so dedicated to working on your individual skill. Even after attending classes for months, there is always something to improve upon. If youre a newbie and just getting interested in boxing--Back Bay Boxing and Fitness should be a mandated first stop to actually learn HOW to throw a punch. If youve been boxing, well come learn the proper way because more than likely youve been punching the bag incorrectly. Just do yourself a favor and try it out.

I went to Back Bay Boxing for the first time a week ago and had the best boxing experience Ive had in Boston! Unlike instructors at other (bigger) boxing studios, John emphasizes technique and provides personalized feedback throughout the class. Classes are also much smaller than those Ive taken at other studios, which allows for a lot more individualized attention. Since taking that first class, Ive joined Back Bay Boxing on a monthly membership, and I couldnt be happier! Great workout, great instructor, and great classmates. Definitely give Back Bay Boxing a shot if youre interested in not only getting an amazing workout but also improving your boxing skills and meeting some cool people!

Johns class is absolutely amazing. I initially tried it through Class Pass but have since decided to switch to a monthly plan exclusively with Back Bay Boxing. The class is highly personalized, as each class John makes sure he works with everyone to learn techniques and combinations specific to the individuals skill level. Additionally, he pairs everyone up based on approximate level for sparring practice - this helps you work with a variety of people and better learn everything. This class is definitely a good workout - everyone is always dripping sweat pretty quickly - so be prepared to work. I cant say enough good things about John and his class, highly recommend!

Back Bay Boxing and Fitness is hands down the best boxing class in Boston. John (instructor and owner) doesn’t just have you wail on a bag as hard as you can for an hour like some other places that I’ve been. He teaches boxing technique and form using mitt work with partners in small group settings, and provides true one-on-one attention and feedback. His class is geared towards all levels so whether it’s your first time there or you’ve been going for months, you’ll get a great workout and sweat your booty off! I highly recommend!!

If you want a small class setting where you can get genuine one on one attention and instruction while sweating your butt off, Back Bay Boxing and Fitness is perfect. Its a great work out because the classes are small, so you cant slack off. The owner/instructor really cares about giving you the best workout while making sure youre delivering the moves accurately. If you take this class consistently, youll be able to become a pretty good boxer and most importantly, definitely get in shape! I would say though, consistency is key.

Johns class is so great! You get a great workout, and you learn proper form. I havent been to another class in Boston where you get both -- it is either one or the other. If youve never tried boxing before I recommend coming to John before you try other gyms because he takes the time to teach out how to punch. If youve been boxing for years and want to improve I recommend coming to John because he gives you attention that you wont find anywhere else. I just wish that my work schedule allowed me to go to his class more often!

I recently moved to Boston and was looking for a class similar to what I was used to back home. My friend recommended Back Bay Boxing so I decided to check it out. Im so glad I did. I was hooked after one class! Not only is it a great workout and stress reliever after a long day of work; John teaches you techniques and combinations. He takes the time to help you correct yourself and will push you to your potential and level of comfortability. I definitely recommend Back Bay Boxing for all experience levels!

Today was my first class here and just boxin in general! The instructor John was so kind and helpful. I got there right as class was starting and he made it easy for me to hop right in. You can purchase wraps on the spot and borrow gloves. Its pretty fast paced but everyone in the class was also very helpful. Its a smaller space and class which works well for me personally as a beginner. That being said, it would be a great class and work out for many levels as far as I can tell. I cant wait to go back!!

Get ready to sweat because this is not your basic boxing class. John will teach you core techniques to make you feel like a pro in a matter of weeks. From jump roping, to boxing combinations as well as how to properly use a boxing bag each class builds upon new techniques, but beginners are always welcome to jump right in! He also offers affordable payment plans that can be bought individually or on top of a current Classpass membership. Definitely worth checking out!

The boxing classes here are great! John is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to teach you proper technique and will work with you one-on-one throughout the class. The individual attention is unique compared to other boxing classes Ive done in Boston. I always leave the class feeling like I got a great workout and improved my boxing technique. I would recommend this class to anyone and all levels. By far the best boxing experience Ive had in Boston!!
