I went today for the first time using the first of my three free day trial passes. It was also my first time ever being in a YMCA. I was pleased by the facility. The top floor consisted of older people using the assisted weight machines and tread mills. The free weights were located in the basement. I was impressed with this space as there was plenty of open space for ab workouts yoga. They also had a punching bag hanging up. Wasnt to crowded (3pm on a Wednesday). I was very pleased with the amount of benches and free weights available. They also have a swimming pool, steam room, ample locker space and basketball courts. Im sure they have even more stuff to offer than what I saw today. Will be signing up for a monthly membership and checking it all out.

Dirty, crowded and often inflexible staff who dont follow through. Staff who makes repeated promises but doesnt fulfill them. Where I come from, this is known as lying. Some "managers" who are too busy texting and tweeting to look you in the face and have a normal conversation with you. Many folks could learn about customer service - doesnt really exist over there. Full of lies, even the management. If this is future of our country, man, are we in trouble! I would run for the hills from this place. Its a nightmare.

Hello everyone, A little advice for you before you go to this gam. I have been with YMC for 3 years. Last week my IPD was stolen from the gam. when i talked to the stuff to find out who steel my IPD thy didnt even help me to find out who stole it. They have cameras every where, and they can easily find out who took it. But they dont want do that, so they dont deserve you to be in there. Please be careful about your things if you want go to this gam.

The physical facility is beautiful with its architectural design so impressive to healthy living. The whole Oak Square area is transformed with this style. The building, inside and outside, is kept spotless clean by a very helpful crew. Anything one can imagine is at this Y in abundance, including free babysitting for Y attendees. The kids love it! Once inside, the facilities are very nice. The pool is nice and the fitness equipment is usually clean. However, getting in can be a pain. I have a membership, but sometimes I will get stopped at the front desk and lectured about some policy that never affected me before. The thing that really bugs me is when they talk down to me and when I try to speak they dont acknowledge me.

There is always a member of the cleaning staff in the locker rooms and on the floor walking around the cardio equipment. Its a busy place because the facility is great. I had one weird yoga instructor that just made the whole class awkward, but I couldnt be more happy with all the others. Desk staff always says hi and good nigh .

Im about a month into my membership there. Can definitely say that they are friendly, professional, and accommodating. They keep the place clean. Best of all there is just a nice overall impression that the Y serves the community in which it is situated in wonderful and vital way.

Great gym with so many treadmills although it still does fill up at peak times. Great free weights area and even more space when there are no classes. The morning boot camp class and TRX classes, which you pay extra for are great and well worth the money.

Good equipment and friendly trainers, but very, very busy on weeknight evenings. The swimming pool and the weight room are always overrun with children and bulky men, respectively, but if you go on a weekend, the Y is definitely a good value!

Personally I wouldnt make this my primary gym because it is the most expensive YMCA Ive ever encountered. But it is GREAT for going in for a few hours with a day pass and using the basketball courts or gorgeous pool.

Was in the Y Oak Sq today to register as a family and sign our son up for Scout Camp. Meredith was amazing! The service was excellent, the facilities are beautiful. We are happy and proud to be members of the Y!

Lots of treadmills and ellipticals, full set of weight-lifting machines plus free-weights, big indoor pool plus jacuzzi, great range of class offerings, from salsa to kickboxing, to yoga, to self--defense!

Been a member here for 3 years, and have no complaints. Clean locker rooms, ample parking, and great community atmosphere. Lap lanes are never crowded during the day. Weight room can get crowded at times.

Great facility, always clean. Great couples membership rates. Good class offerings, two squat racks with full barbells in the fully stocked weight room. Also the clientele is very nice in general.

I love this place. Very convenient to get there. 57 bus comes every 5-10 mins. They need to update equipments in the gym. For the workout equipments they can take planet fitness as an example.

Alright gym. Great location of you live in oak square. However extremely busy and almost impossible to get a cardio machine if you go during post-work prime hours of 5pm-6:30pm.

The pool is wonderful. It is clean and very well run. I go for water therapy for my back and enjoy going there. It is a welcome change from the clubs.

Best YMCA in Boston! Separate locker rooms for adults and children. Lap pool and therapy pool. Friendly helpful staff.
