My wife used Rainbow to coordinate this move recently from Boston to LA. Alan St. Pierre was rude, uncooperative and obstructive throughout the process. A quick google search will show that the 5 star review below from Amy Berube is from a person close to Alan and I wouldnt put much trust in it. The movers were polite and packed everything correctly, all of which arrived in LA in tact. Alan failed to communicated the time they should be arriving as per our request and they turned up two hours early. When we notified Rainbow for delivery once we found a place to stay in LA the range of dates given was of 10 day breadth. Alan was not in any way forthcoming in trying to give more specific or helpful information. It is difficult to be able to coordinate a time where you can be present to allow for movers to come in to your home and Alan showed no empathy or understanding in trying to work with us. I had booked a Wednesday to Sunday vacation from Boston to LA to see my wife (as I am continuing in my current job in Boston in the short-term), with the intent of arriving along with our possessions so I could help unpack. We were told the delivery would not make those dates and Alans suggestion was that I should change my vacation or that we should buy an inflatable mattress from Walmart without any constructive information as to the status of our delivery. As a result, we spent further nights in a hotel out of pocket, rented a U-haul on the Saturday morning of our to pick up a futon donated by a kind friend which my wife had to sleep on for an additional week until our items arrived. We finally got in touch with the logistics company, North American, who were much more accommodating. Though the date did not improve, my wife was given daily updates by the coordinator and direct calls from the truck driver as to his progress cross-country. Close to delivery time, Alan all of a sudden became much more responsive as he pursued payment. It was clear that his priority is far from customer service, but when it comes to billing he is more than happy to pick up the phone. It is a shame that Alans bad behavior has reflected so badly on Rainbow. I called the owner, Ms McEnaney after delivery to voice my concerns. She expressed her displeasure at receiving this type of call and that Alan and the whole staff had been re-trained as to how to properly convey information about how long a delivery would take. As much as I was glad to hear that Ms McEnaney sought to correct the poor service, Alan St. Pierres behavior has left a sour taste in my mouth. I would consider it nothing but conduct worthy of dismissal. I would not recommend using Rainbow for a move in future.

I was very happy with the move team, from the office personnel to the estimator to the packers and movers, in Massachusetts. It was a surprise that the shipment was delayed significantly and that I had to go through a lot of hoops to get the shipment delivered in Virginia, which was primarily due to the trailer being delivered by a Maryland agent and movers team, with none of the Massachusetts team involved at the delivery end. The Delivery movers were generally fine, but because they didnt work on the packing end, I have things that are in the wrong places, and they didnt put together the furniture that was disassembled at the packing end. They claimed they couldnt get the four poster bed up the stairs, so now Im stuck with it being in my garage, which is terrible. I was not happy with the amount of damage that occurred during unloading (broken furniture legs, wheels falling off cabinets, damaged boxes) and the delivery team constantly saying "that happened on the packing end." It was very unprofessional in my opinion. I had chosen Rainbow Movers in Massachusetts because I had previously used them for another bigger move, which had the packing team come with the shipment to the delivery end. That move was great. This move, with a different delivery agent, was horrible. Unfortunately.

Rainbow Movers handled delivery of the couch I ordered from Wayfair, and they were excellent! My delivery was handled by TJ and his partner (I didnt catch his name =[ ), and the two of them were phenomenal. I live in a 2nd floor apartment of an 1800s home (so plenty of narrow doorways and weird ceilings), and I had thought that the couch I ordered came in two smaller pieces than it did, which made moving it in particularly difficult. When the front stairs didnt work, they carried it all the way around the house and up my back stairs , then did some sort of magic to maneuver it around the narrow porch and through the door, which happened to be the exact width of the couch. Not an easy delivery by any means. They absolutely went above and beyond to try all options to get my couch in the house so that I wouldnt have to go through a whole return/refund/new couch selection process with Wayfair. I would recommend these guys any day of the week. They are professional and pleasant and timely (my delivery window was 12-4, they came around 3). They provided just all around fantastic service. I plan on using them again when I eventually move out of this apartment, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to hire movers.

If I could turn back the clock there would be no question who I would choose. It would be Rainbow Movers. It’s too bad I let the salesperson from another local "U" Van Lines operator out of NH overpromise and under deliver… On the brighter side I am going to write a positive review on Rainbow Movers and more specifically on, Alan St. Pierre. Alan represents the company and the quality of person you deal with at Rainbow Moving. Alan has been nothing but a true professional even when I awarded the job to that other company "U" and only based on a referral from someone. If it werent for that referral I would be using Rainbow. When I notified Alan I was using another company he bowed out gracefully and professionally. Then when other company "U" under delivered, I called Alan for assistance...he answered with a positive and professional attitude and provided a solution. He is very customer oriented and very resourceful. Rainbow is lucky to have Alan on their team. Thank you for the effort and for your “First Class Customer Service”…..

Ive been working for this company for 30 years. I am a 4th generation owner/mover of Rainbow Movers. The company operates with fellow siblings Erin, James and Jon. Our 5th generation is coming along in Alex Fontaine and others. Our company has been in business for 99 years. We have moved 99.9% of our customers over 100 years with no issues. We get so many people that we have moved 3,4,5 times because we are that good. We have some negative reviews on this site. We regret that we are not able to 100% satisfy customers that only want to cause a problem. Take a look at our reviews. Our nearly 100 years of service to the public and ask yourself who/what you believe. Social media makes it too easy to trash us. Ill put our reputation up against any mover. You decide who you believe. Please call us for your moving needs.
