I was a member of the gym since the days it was called Mill City Fitness until last June when I cancelled my membership. After filling out my cancellation form with Scott, I put the receipt in my car and went on about my life. Earlier this year, I checked my credit report out and saw that I had a $190 collection from the gym. After talking to the gym manager Scott, it was shown that not only was my membership not cancelled, but I was on the hook for full years worth of gym membership fees because the credit card information on file was not working, they couldnt reach me at my old address and did not have my phone number in their system. After brining in some paperwork showing that I had paid my dues on time every month for years before that June, and even showing that I used my new then and current now bankcard to pay my final yearly membership fee and final month (Being that if I still want to be at the gym I would of gave them my updated credit-card information), I was still on the hook for the money. Scotts boss told him that he would settle debt if I had that original receipt. Realizing that I had thrown that away months before cleaning my car, I said that that wouldnt be impossible. Scott got on hold with his boss who told me that he would settle for a little less than half the price, $75. After a month of saving up, I paid it off and still have that receipt. The lesson you need to learn about this gym is that its not a bad gym, the machines are OK, its in a shady neighborhood, but its a decent gym. Just make sure you keep EVERY single document from this place. Their record keeping protocol is substandard, so be warned!

Choice Fitness in Lowell has: 1) An excellent personal-training program. The dedicated personal training area is clean and spacious, has a lot of good equipment, including multiple TRX systems. They offer really diverse classes that give you a whole body workout, and leave you knowing you just worked your butt off! 1a) Several trainers, and my personal favorite is Melissa Meija. She really takes the time to understand your goals, and pays close attention any (current or past) injuries you have that need special attention and makes sure to provide exercises that strengthen the muscles that help you recover from those injuries. She also takes the time to explain WHY you need to do certain exercises, and why they must be done a certain way. You can tell she really cares about her clients. 2) plenty of parking, and is very conveniently located near the downtown 3) a lot of equipment, so there are plenty of machines available when you want to use them. 4) equipment in excellent condition. They are continually upgrading, repairing and replacing equipment and bringing in new technology all of the time. 5) probably the best monthly rate imaginable. Less than $20/month for all access. $20/month and you can go to any of their locations. 6) clean and spacious locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms. 7) friendly staff, and the members are friendly, too. I do not feel uncomfortable working out there at all!

I first joined Choice Fitness of Lowell September 2016 and have had an exceptional experience. Covering the basics, the price is great, they clean everyday, and the staff are friendly. During this time I also decided to work with personal fitness trainer Rich. For 4 months we meet twice a week. I came in with strong lungs from cycling, but lacked any additional physical strength. Taking a functional training approach I was able to gain of 6 lbs of muscle. For the first month I was a little skeptical as we were not working out with the rest of the gym folks(bench press, squat rack). Rich had me doing resistance training through use of my own body weight and kettle bells. Fair enough, I had no muscular foundation. After 3 months, I told Rich I wanted to start doing some of the heavy lifting. With my solid foundation we were able to incorporate some of the pure strength movements. ie(bench press, squat racks, deadlifts). The workouts were physically and mentally demanding. Every time, I was drenched in sweat. I now have a great foundation of strength of which I will keep building on. Put in the time, eat clean, eat protein, see Rich and you wont regret. I would recommend the gym swapping out one of the many bench press machines for an additional squat rack.

Hi! I love coming to this gym for several reasons: the people are very friendly, the gym is extremely clean and the equipment is in good working order. In addition, new features like the grass area have been added to enhance training. I have been a member of this gym for a long time and during the previous owners, it was lacking the quality and training that is available now. I am very lucky to have the best trainer, Melissa Mejia! Under the previous owners, training and trainers were a hit and miss issue, mostly late or missing for sessions. I just want to say that being a member of this gym now under this management has made a big difference in the way I feel and live my life! At 74 I am in better shape than I have been for a long time. Thank you! Catherine Rourke

I have been a member of this gym since 2006 (Different names: Powerhouse Gym, Mill City Fitness). The front desk has always been very friendly and helpful whenever I have needed something. The members who go to this facility are also friendly. I enjoy coming to work out knowing the people I will be around. I have trained with Melissa for the passed 3 years. She is knowledgeable, motivating and understanding of my training needs (dancer, runner, Zumba instructor). I have seen real results after working with Melissa (muscle tone). She is also very helpful in terms of guiding me in the right direction for nutrition before and after a workout. She takes the time to get to know each client individually and works with their needs specifically. #ilovemychoice #choicelowell

Before it was Choice Fitness it was Mill City. I didnt think there would be a big change but I was wrong! I have not done any of the classes such as yoga, HIIT or Zumba but I did try out their CFX classes. I tried it with a friend during a free month trial and loved it! I have been taking the classes for almost 4 months now and STILL love it (which I usually get bored easily). But this class switches it up with different workouts (cardio and strength training). It is also for all levels which I really like. The trainers Melissa and Amanda are so helpful and explain each workout as well as go at the pace you need yet still pushing you to your limit. Rich is also always available for any questions and always giving a warm welcome! :)

My Friends introduced me to this gym, and l decided to join after seeing their transformation. They spoke highly of their trainer (rich), and that motivated me to start working with the same trainer (rich Curran) last month (December 2016). At first I was skeptical, but after meeting and talking to him, I felt comfortable going over my fitness goals and lifestyle changes that I needed to make. This trainer knows his stuff, and tailors a fitness workout based on your fitness goals. Its been a month so far, and my energy level has improved, as well as my eating habits. Overall, this gym is clean, and the staff is friendly. Id highly recommend this gym and this trainer, to anyone serious about getting fit.
