I have just cancelled my membership after a number of years, and am joining Zoo instead. Heres why: 1. The 30 Minute Blast Zone - Its a great concept but I gave up trying to use because it is usually occupied by people who are only using one particular machine (usually the bicep curl) instead of doing the circuit, and they get in the way of you being able to stay on the 30 minute plan. I mentioned it to the staff twice and both times I was advised to just wait it out. So much for the sign that states that the area is monitored by the staff and anyone breaking the rules would have their membership cancelled. 2. The staff - The current crop of staff are actually great, very friendly and polite, but up until recently there were quite a few totally rude and obnoxious kids who were more interested in loudly and openly flirting with each other and taking selfies than working. 3. The temperature in the cardio area - In the Summer the temperature in the area with the treadmills, climbers and ellipticals gets unbearably hot for me. I had to stop a couple of runs simply due to overheating. There are no ceiling fans, and there is only a pedestal fan that blows in one direction. I emailed to suggest the use of celing fans as a fairly cheap and easy solution to improving the atmosphere in there, but the reply that I got was "Were not going to add fans. If you dont like the temperature then leave". Advice taken, ive now left. Thank you. 4. The lack of maintenance - This was the one that did it for me. Im a big guy (310 pounds, but down from 350) who is now dedicated to losing weight and getting fit by running, elliptical, rowing and strength training. Im done with getting into a run on a treadmill to then have the damn belt start slipping. Once it happens I tense up completely, waiting for it to happen again, and thats my run screwed. Its easy to blame my heavy weight, but im 90 pounds less than the max weight limit of the treadmill, so lets not go there. I was in there on Thursday evening for a run, and there were two treadmills with "Out Of Order" signs on them, two other treadmills with error messages on the digital displays, and the treadmill I chose had a slipping belt. Thats when I called it, went over to the desk and cancelled on the spot. Its a shame as it just insane value for money, but thats one of the problems too. Its so easy for the business to ignore complaints because they have a large customer base who are happy with automatically paying out $10 a month just in case they may want to go there once or twice a month. So for everyone who cancels there are likely three or four customers who are paying monthly but not using it regularly. Its an easy steady source of income for PF, and in all honesty you kind of feel a little ridiculous complaining about something that is so cheap, but ive at last decided that I would rather pay more money elsewhere and be happy with my workout than paying a tiny amount to PF and being unsatisfied all the time.

I didnt mind the "gym" portion of Planet fitness but thier customer service is HORRIBLE. I stongly recommend either working out at home or finding a privatly small local gym. I started at Planet fitness because of their convience and "extra" ammenities but none of it was worth the cost. I started with the "black" card at 20 a month and was told taht at anytime I would be able to "downgrade" to the 10 a month plan. Well to my surprise whe I went in to "downgrade" I was told I had to pay an additional 30 dollars "membership fee" to downgrade... WTF??? I asked to speak with Manager Adam Hey and while I was waiting... his little brother came in and when asked what his member number was he said he didnt have an account and simply stated he was the managers little brother and was allowed to work out for free AND he brought a guest!!! Are you kidding me?? So when the manager arrived for me to speak with about not mpaying the additional 30 fee he said "sorry, thats our policy" when I asked him what the policy was on his little brother working out without having an account, he asked why I was attacking him.... HMMMM so I guess the "policy" only applies to certain "members". Oh and dont ask to have any corporate information because they "arent allowed" to give you that info either... What a Joke. Sincerely, Member number 50135

Planet Fitness is a womans gym that will gladly accept and take money from men as long as you dont mind the never ending blast of female oriented musical classics from ABBA, The Captain and Tennille, The Weather Girls, and Olivia Newton John set to an amazingly annoying 140 beat per minute disco beat while working out on beginner style oh so pretty yellow and purple weight machines. If Barney the Purple Dinosaur were to come dancing across the floor handing out daisys to everyone every hour I wouldnt be the least bit surprised. Apparently success has gone to their heads as they dont seem to mind alienating pretty much everyone that frequents this place on a regular basis as every one Ive ever talked about the music cant stand it, including the employees whove told me many times that theres nothing that they can do even though they get complaints daily. I suppose when you have hundreds of new members signing up monthly (and an equal amount canceling their memberships) you can do what you want, members opinions be damned.

Maybe my standards are more realistic, or the day shift isnt as good. But ive been to this gym a few times. I work off-shift so its usually empty but even then staff is wide awake and attentive with a good attitude. Every time ive gone i see them cleaning or wiping something down. And no way theyre gna play music everyone can agree on, no one can. Just my personal opinion, headphones over any sound system on any given day is better anyways. But either way its definitely not that bad to give less than 4. Great location, especially for any other night walkers out there

Terrible gym in whole, they are cheap but also knowing you get what you pay for, their trainers are less than enthusiastic which makes you feel like they just want it to end, little assistance and they have bizarre Black card only devices that are not effective. They let you get your membership online but to cancel they require an on site visit, this is to try and keep you. Also real gym provide all useful machines, they have 80% cardio. Not helpful. Cancelled my membership after a year. So I spent 120.00 and no gain or loss it just is there.

My wife was a member here and it was just ok. However if you really enjoy being subjected to poor customer service, this is likely the place for you. Try to cancel your membership before they charge you for another year, once they have your money you will never see it again. The really interesting part is when you do cancel, and you will, they require a "reason" (likely for corporate reporting) and they will find something so as to make themselves not be viewed as the worst gym around when management comes looking.
