As a new member to this gym, my experience so far, has exceeded my expectations which was loosely based on previous reviews. I needed an environment that could compliment my primary work out of P90X I was doing at home. I needed variety, and this gym fits my bill. It offers a swimming pool facility with a hot tub, a variety of classes (ps. they will be including a P90X class soon! oh yeah!), a track, private womens workout area, cardio sector, pilates and an appeasing weight room. The open and airy space continues to supplement with even more incentives that would make an ordinary weekend with the family, more fun and relaxing. With amenities like a basketball court for kids and daddy to let off some energy, a steam room & sauna in each bathroom to relax in after a hard core workout, one would find it almost indulgent to discover a spa connected to the gym. The entire staff was inviting, courteous, and professional. My orientation began with Lisa, who customized and incorporated my personal incentives into the tour of the facility with effortless grace. She answered my questions and was sure to be attentive to me while I was waiting for my husband to finish his evaluation. I was scheduled to meet with Mr Erik Bruce for my complimentary fitness consultation. He is the current Regional Director of Fitness at Latitude, and although he is managing more than one center, I was struck by how attainable he seemed and expressed to be. One could feel how passionate he was about his vocation. His intentions were clear, he wanted to get to know my husband and I, in order to cater better to our individual needs. I experienced his unwavering professionalism first hand when I arrived for my appointment which was scheduled at the precipice of an event scheduled to start later that day. Although he was multitasking and helping transition rooms for the event, he still, unflustered, kept my appointment and gave me undivided attention customizing a workout routine that catered to my injuries, weaknesses and needs. Although I shower at home I found the bathrooms and locker area to be clean and presentable. I am looking forward to enjoying the quality of service that the Latitude team presents.

I am an instructor at Latitude, but was a member there for years before I was certified. I think that some of these comments written below are absolutely not true at all. This is an excellent gym. The staff is friendly, the instructors and the trainers are the best in the area. The programs offered keep up with current fitness trends. We recently held a spin a thon in which they raised $87,000 for cancer. This is the 3rd one we have done like that. Other gyms are not doing such things. They are very involved in the community as well as being a a great health club. I just signed up my son for swim lessons and the swim coach, Yuri is fantastic with children. They also have karate and many other activities for families. Yes there are a few downsides like parking is tough at popular times, but some of the negative comments written below are really ridiculous. One complaint is that class are too full, what does that tell you? The classes are awesome. Someones complaint is that it is a fashion show etc... it is not. Members talk to each other because they are friends. I have been going to Latitude Sports Club since it opened and I have made lifelong friends there. Some people go to the bar after work and some people go to the "Health Club" As far as price goes, you can not compare. This gym offers way to many amenities for it to compare to WOW or Planet Fitness. As far as stuff being stolen. If you leave your stuff in an unlocked locker, there is a risk of it getting stolen. Would you go to an amusement park and leave your stuff in an unlocked locker. My car was vandalized outside a restaurant one night. Bad people are everywhere. I am totally proud to be a member there and an instructor. If you like working out and being a part of a fitness community, then you will love Latitude.

Latitude Sports Club is easily the worst gym Ive ever stepped foot into. It looks great from the outside and when you walk in its huge and looks awesome till you start walking around the place working out, you notice some things. First the bolts on their benches are not tight, the benches are very wobbly. Second, there are weights all over the ground along with bars, and yoga mats. Third, nobody knows how to put the weights back, they just leave them on the bars and walk away. Fourth, the machines are not oiled so with every pull is a nice loud screech and takes extra strength to get it down due to it not being oiled up. Fifth, there is no chalk around and the gym is very hot so your hands get super sweaty and their bars dont have good grip, its very smooth on the bars so if your hands are sweaty it can slip right out of your hands, which is why chalk is needed. I asked them and chalk is banned in the gym. Sixth, there is no clips, I saw maybe 1 clip laying around. Seventh, the weight racks are numbered to where the weights should be, none of them match up, you have 25 lb dumbells next to 85 lb dumbells next to 110lb dumbells. Lastly, there is garbage all over the ground, empty bottles, paper towels, etc.. Im sure Im forgetting a bunch of stuff but I couldnt believe this place. If youre ever in the New England area never come here. Its a terrible gym and they charge way too much, I paid $50 for a week pass here and am very disappointed with what I got out of it.

Ive belonged to several gyms in the Lawrence/Methuen area, including the YMCA and Workout World, and I have to say that this is by far the best gym around. Great selection of group fitness classes (I need my yoga fix at least twice a week). Plenty of cardio equipment - Ive never had to wait. I dont often use the womens only room, but its nice to know its available for those who need it. Large pool. And, my personal favorite, an indoor track. My only gripes are 1) I love aqua aerobics but the classes here are super low-impact, pretty much designed for the elderly; 2) they dont offer towels - very inconvenient for swimming and post-workout showers -so if you workout more than once a week, the laundry will pile up; 3)BEAUTIFUL basketball court, but no volleyball net?? Its enough to make me consider driving to the Andover Y instead. If theyd only get sockets installed, they could buy removable poles and bball would go uninterrupted.

Ive been going to this gym since it switched from Golds to Latitudes and I have to say that over the years it has gone down hill. At first it was a beautiful gym that was kept up. I dont know what has happened to it now. Everytime I go there are multiple machines that do not work, the weight racks are never full, most of the TVs on the machines are broken, and the classes are way too full. Where does my $45 a month go?! It will also go a long way if the people working at the front desk didnt act so disinterested in their job. Multiple times Ive been waiting to be scanned in while they chit-chat. Oh, and forget about the parking lot- some nights its worse than trying to park at the mall during Christmas. No longer impressed by this gym.
