I hired Jim Dorsey and Son to do an oil to gas transition for my house. Given how big a project it seemed, I had no idea what to expect and how the whole thing would get done. First, Jay Dorsey visited the house and gave me an explanation of how everything would get done, what equipment I should consider, and how I should go about getting funding from MassSave. Once that whole MassSave loan process was complete, the crew showed up on time, with three trucks and a half dozen guys. The team lead, Ray, was incredibly helpful in walking me through again what they were going to do, how long it would take, and what they needed from me (which was very little). I worked from home for those two days just to make sure everything went smoothly...but I really didnt need to do that. Ray and the rest of the guys were very thorough, polite, and punctual. I was shocked to see what they were able to accomplish in just a couple of days...the old oil system/tank were gone and the new high efficiency equipment was set up with all new plumbing. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone. Im actually looking forward to winter now!

I rated this poor-fair, because its the lowest option, it should really be abysmal.1. Technician was supposed to be here between 10-2 to fix my furnace, I called at 2:30 to see what was happening and was told hed be there any minute. Didnt show up until 3:30pm.2. When the technician did show up he didnt have the part needed even though I told "Dave" exactly what wasnt working including the part number.3. Technician told me the office would call the next day, quote a price and arrange appointment to install it. Called a day late, with no price, and "told" me when he was coming.4. Technician more than an hour late for 4 hr window again.5. Charged $660 for a part that I found in 30s of searching online for $160. I expect to pay a premium going through a company like this, but thats almost criminal.

The initial process of changing out my indoor and outdoor HVAC system went great. They stuck to their initial estimate even when they needed to increase to the larger unit. Unfortunately, during the initial installation the drainage pipe was not secured at a downward angle and flooded my attic, which in turn created water damage to my kitchen ceiling. After the issue came to their attention, they were quick to send a technician over and fix the drainage issue. They didnt stop there either, after a little confusion, Tom and his team paid for the damages in full. Overall it was a great working experience with a slight hiccup, and I would have no issues recommending their services to a friend

From the first call with just questions and concerns to following up that everything is running correctly. Tom Fisher who was my contact person from my initial call was very profesional and curtious. Made suggestion that were taken into consideration and of course I went with the best option. Tom was here with the two installers Jason and Jake. Also, Joey the service technician. I appreciate how they made me and Rick feel like we were the only customer they had. Thank you guys so much for all your work.

In a matter of just over two weeks I was able to work out with Jim Dorsey & Sons a replacement install of a heat pump. The quotation process was fast, straightforward, and ultimately flexible (they offered to quote an alternative manufacturer) This was the most practical solution, and Jim Dorsey & Sons was committed to helping me find a solution to keep the costs down. Then on top of that they are a qualified contractor that you can trust to get the job done in a professional and timely manner.

I can not highly recommend these folks more. My wife and I bought a new gas stove from Home Depot. Never use Home Depot to install appliances, they do not follow state guidelines. Jim Dorsey & Sons staff came out in 1 DAY!!!!! They did it right, fixed the existing problems, installed my new stove and made my wife happy. There staff is professional and very courtious, and their pricing is up front and honest. Could not recommend more.

I made an appointment with Dorsey and Sons plumbing and heating to come look at my furnace on monday for yesterday at noon. They never showed up. They never called. I called them and they didnt answer. I left a message asking them to call me back and here we are 24 hours after leaving that message and they havent.

Not happy, called them to come out for an estimate. Half hour late which is not an issue. Told me i would have an estimate emailed to me that afternoon. Its been 7 days and still no word. Tried calling and got the runaround which led to leaving messages on voicemails. No callbacks yet. Very disappointed.!!!

Just had my home converted from oil to gas with Jim Dorsey and Son. Excellent service and they did a great job cleaning the area after removing my old system. I had gotten other prices but went with the reviews. I made a great choice. This is the only plumber I will be using in the future.

The workers were very courteous, professional and careful with the AC installation. They cleaned up after each day and there was minimal cleaning needed once once the job was completed. My only complaint is that Im still waiting for follow-up paperwork I was told I would be getting.
