I am blown away by the professional, knowledgeable, and just amazing staff at Avissa. Kristin is one of most fantastic stylists Ive had the pleasure of encountering. I will not go any where else again. I called on New Years Eve to see if Avissa may have had a cancellation on one of the busiest salon days of the year, I was told there was an early appointment that I was going to have trouble getting to on time but I took it anyways. About 5 minutes later I got a call saying Kristin (by far my favorite stylist there and one of the top stylists I have had a chance to be worked on by ever) would stay late and get me in. Awesome! Get to the salon early and was greeted by name and asked if I would like anything while I waited. Asked for water and actually was given a small bottle (which is awesome because you dont have to feel awkward trying to find a place to put it while someone is working on you, just close it and sit it in the chair with you) and the wait wasnt long. Kristin remembered me, and asked what we were doing. I gave her creative license and was not disappointed. She styled my hair in a very elegant but awesome way and educated me when I asked. Seriously I am never disappointed...Kristin is amazing. -On a side note: Ive also had a pedicure at Avissa by Kristin and was VERY pleased. -Also had an eyebrow wax done and was also amazing. I forgot who did it thou **Update 6/18/14 Saw Kristin again for a color service and was again blown away by the creativity and knowledge she has. Amazing!

This place is excellent. Im new to the area and I was in need of a hair cut. Not knowing where to go I decided to search on google maps for hair salons. After looking at a few places I noticed Avissa had lots of good reviews. So, I decided to go there. Everyone was very nice and polite. The place was easy to find and it was very clean inside. All the reviews I read were spot on. This place is great. I didnt know who to ask for, instead I asked for a stylist that was good with men, specifically a man with longer hair. The receptionist set me up with an appointment with Kristin. She was awesome to say the least. She was very knowledgeable about hair styles for men with longer hair and threw out a few suggestions for me. Like most guys Im not too particular about my hair, so I left it in her hands and she did an amazing job. I will most definitely be going back and will recommend it, and her, to anyone looking for good hair cut.

Wonderful salon with really awesome and friendly staff. I go for only eyebrows, at this point, but will definitely look to this salon for nails once I decide to get them done. In any event, Kimya (I probably spelled that wrong) is the best kept secret for eyebrows in Ann Arbor. I have thick eyebrows that few seem to be able to shape properly while keeping them full, but Kimya gets it right every time, hands down. There is also another woman there (I think, who is older?), but does a great job on eyebrows as well, and takes her time to get them right. Finally, gentleman at front desk is very nice and makes patrons feel welcomed from start to finish. Ive been to dozens of salons (for eyebrow waxes and threading) between Boston and New York, and Avissa is by far one of the best- check them out if you havent already, especially for eyebrows!

I went in for a cut by one of the best stylists in Ann Arbor and while I waited the owner and his girlfriend sat sprawled on the waiting sofa while I stood there for 20 min. I thought he was just some rude guy waiting for a customer or a stylists but hen he got up and went behind the register where I found out he was the OWNER! He was rude to his stylists while I was there and rude to customers. I continued to go there because this stylist is just that good - but now she left as have others, so I never have to go back there again. I don not think the owners understand the the reviews are for the stylists not them, so they have earned this from me.

I have been going here for about a year or so and absolutely LOVE it! My girl, Kristin, is amazing!! Ive gotten my nails done (shellac) at least four times, and each time has been such a great experience. They spend the time to get your nails done as perfectly as possible. :) I always get tons of compliments! The salon itself is clean and chic with lots of natural light which I love. The atmosphere is calm and de-stressing, and everyone is extremely friendly. Im booked to get my wedding hair/makeup done there this May, and I am so excited! Im sure it will be perfect quality as always! :)

This is a great salon in a good spot -- with free and generally ample parking -- on the north side of town. I love that Avissa is a family business. Late last winter I went in for a service and discovered that the mom had these great chunky knit winter headbands for sale for only $15! I thought it was a steal. Ive only had a couple of nail and spa services but all have been very good. I will continue to return. Full disclosure -- the salon offered me a $10 gift card for leaving them a review on Google+. But I would have said nice stuff about them anyway.

Have been at this place since it opened and its always fabulous. Kimai is the BEST! She does my hair, nails (shellac)/toes, and waxing. Hands down she does the best shellac in town. Ive learned the hard way that many havent been properly trained. Also, Shohreh gives the best facials! A day after receiving a facial from her, a woman at Real Seafood stopped to ask me how Im able to GLOW. Lastly, Shohreh does threading, which for some odd reason is hard to find in town. I could go on and on....give them a try. Trust me, you wont regret doing so!

The moment I walked into the salon, I was warmly greeted, offered a complimentary beverage, and did not have to wait a minute for my scheduled appointment. Since it was my first time ever to color my hair, Kristen put me at ease and chose the perfect color for my new highlights. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was lovely (including the music!), and I loved everything about my cut and color. I have gotten a Brazilian wax and a pedicure here, and both services were excellent. It was my first time getting a Brazilian wax and I was made to feel very comfortable and she did a good job. I had a shellac pedicure, again for the first time. She was very knowledgeable about the process, and explained every step. She was also very funny and we had a great conversation. The salon is very clean and has a pleasant ambiance. I definitely would recommend it!

I am always nervous about trying a new salon or stylist - I have been incredibly happy with Avissa!! My stylist is very knowledgeable and current on the latest in hair (cut, color, etc.) and put me right at ease. The salon is in a good location on the NE side and the hours and parking are convenient. There are many offerings at the salon including wearables, manicures, blowouts, fantastic hair products, etc. and I will be going back again and again!
