I am in a military family and we are reassigned nearly every 2-1/2 years. When we were located in CA I joined a gym and really liked it. After about a year I began noticing that, while in the classes, I was watching the clock (which could only mean that I was becoming bored). I am a active 64 year old woman, originally from Ann Arbor. In between relocation from the West to East Coast, I visited a friend in Michigan. While there I wanted to work out. I checked out a popular gym and also made an appointment for an introductory class at CFB. Due to my age, I was a bit apprehensive as I had never tried CrossFit, but was curious. I checked out the popular gym first and then went for my introductory class with Jordan at CFB. As a newbie I was intimidated walking into the “Box”. After the class with Jordan I was interested enough to give it a try and, at least, see if I could do CrossFit . I attended class three times a week for the six weeks I was in Michigan and I could tell I was hooked. It was a blessing for me to have my first CF experience at CFB. Jordan and Hillary are for attentive toward each member in each class. Their instructors are very knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. I was amazed at how fast the time passed while working out. No looking at the clock when doing CrossFit (except when timing yourself). I am not exaggerating when I write that I cannot find one thing I would change about CFB. Their classes are always challenging. The instructors are always close by to give added instruction, when needed. The facility is huge and very clean. There is plenty of equipment for everyone. Two bathrooms that are clean and neat. Their prices are very reasonable and their schedules offer a wide range of daily classes. The owners, staff and other members are very friendly and encouraging. The music is conducive to all ages and there is not constant bad language. I know from my experience as a rookie at CFB that they are one of the best in the country because, in all the different places I have travelled, I have not found a CrossFit that even comes close and I have tried many since I first began CF. I use CFB as my “measuring stick” when checking out other facilities and all I can say to those that live close enough to be members at Jordan and Hillary’s CFB is “be thankful and appreciate having them as your workout facility”. Every time I am planning a trip to Michigan one of the first things I do is email Hillary to set up the payment for the time I am going to be in town. When I return it feels like I never left.

L.A.G. - Jan. 12, 2012 CrossFit is so much more than an amazing workout. Crossfit is a community and the energy generated at CrossFit Bloomfield is positive, contagious, empowering, and addictive. Im nearly 57 years old and hadnt really worked out since I gave birth to my 1st (and only) child 11 years ago. Between mothering, work, etc. I was really beginning to feel my age and I didnt like that at all. Nothing fun about waking up with aches and pains, dragging myself through the day feeling exhausted, and watching the effects of gravity on my body! A younger friend had just joined CrossFit and became "hooked". Over several months I listened to her praise Jordan, Hillary, and their facility. Once or twice I thought about checking it out, but then I would tell myself, "...shes young, shes fit, shes motivated" followed by, "...I cant really find the time, sounds too rigorous - Ill hurt myself", etc. One day I woke up and I thought, no more excuses - today is the day. Hillary will attest to the fact that I sounded completely neurotic when I phoned. Fast forward to today. I feel amazing. I dont agonize about my weight because now I focus upon becoming and remaining healthy. Making the time to work out isnt an effort anymore, its a priority. And it feels really good to claim my own time. The workouts are custom tailored to each individuals needs, although it doesnt matter what level you begin at, with modifications you are completing the same workout as everyone else. I dont worry about injury because Jordan, Hillary, et. al. take great pains to teach and monitor correct form. Before you know it you are seeing improvement accross the board feeling the pride of accomplishment. I love the cross section of people I work out with. They inform me, they encourage me, they bring me joy. Im no longer the newbie...now I welcome others into the fold. I love my workouts!

I have always been a regular gym guy...doing the old back/bis, chest/tris, shoulders, and the occaisional leg day and then hitting the treadmill or eliptical for 20-30 minutes....taking time in between sets to BS with the guy/girl next to me...total time at the gym would be 1 1/2 to 2 hours and I would feel like I accomplished so much since I was there for so long. Then.......me and a group of friends wanted to try a boot camp type of work out for a week or 2 and saw a daily deal for Cross Fit and decided to try it for a short time. I fell in LOVE with Cross Fit Bloomfield and quit my regular gym after a month and realized that the short, high intensity workouts did way more for me than the long hours I logged at my gym. Jordan, Hillary, & Tyler are exceptional coaches and motivators and it has been a wonderful experience to learn correct form, workout and become friends with so many different people from 16 years old to 65 years old, and become part of the CFB (Cross Fit Bloomfield) family. Just a fair warning, once you start CrossFitting, thats all you talk about and your friends, family, and co-workers might become annoyed :-) I recommend CFB to anyone and everyone, big or small, in great shape or in horrible shape. The coaches will only make you do what you can do and push you to YOUR limit!!

For the last twenty years I lifted weights, went to spinning classes and kickboxing classes and worked out 5 or 6 days a week. I tried cf at cfb in September, thinking I would do it for month, and go back to my normal routine, at my gym. Instead, I have been going to cfb consistently 5 days a week ever since. I cant stay away. I am addicted to the intensity, to the challenge, to the gains, to the competitiveness and to the family atmosphere. Owners Jordan and Hillary Levin know their stuff, treat everyone like family and are dedicated to making the cf experience meaningful, safe and fun. I cant get enough, and would recommend trying the cfb gym to anyone, of any age and any fitness level. The cf workout can accommodate any injury and any limitation, making this workout meaningful and helpful to all. I have seen gains, and I have met challenges, that I never thought were possible beyond the normal lifting/cardio workout. I am hooked for life! BR.

CrossFit Bloomfield is a great place to workout. Jordan and Hillary and the coaches know the movements and standards and they do a great job of giving you a good foundation to build upon. There are several different times available throughout each day to get your fitness on with a one hour session. The important thing that they have done is offer an on-ramp class, which allows beginners to understand and do the movements correctly before entering a CrossFit session for a WOD or workout of the day. This helps prevent injury. Also, their equipment and facilities are on-par with any professional gym and there is a variety of classes to choose from, such as CrossFit, RowFit, Boot Camps, and TRX. One of the things that helps CrossFit Bloomfield standout is Jordans story-he is truly inspiring. So, if you want to be a part of a great community of people that help each other power through workouts, this is the place for you.
