Saw so many great reviews, decided to try it out despite it being a good 35 mins from my house. Got an email appt confirmation at 8 p.m. for a 9 a.m. appt for the next day with Brenda. Got there at 8:57 a.m. Went in at 9 a.m. At 9:05, a woman entered who clearly worked there. She was the receptionist (Torri) who proceeded to ignore me, no eye contact, no greeting - just went to her desk, about her business. No sign of stylist "Brenda" in sight. Asked receptionist- "are you the receptionist?" she says "yes, are you here for someone?" (why else would I be seated at 9 a.m. in their waiting area?). I said, yes, Brenda for a 9 a.m.. She said "Brendas not here yet." (Figured that out.). 9:15 I ask "any idea where Brenda is?" Torri says "shes only 15 minutes late, so shell be here soon". I said "any idea where she might be?" Torri says "her car isnt that great, or it could be the weather" (wet pavement) and turns around and walks away. It was like she was actually saying "your time isnt valuable, so just chill, the stylist will be here WHEN shes ready". So, I decided to leave. No word from Brenda. Torri calls my mobile at 9:30 "Not sure where you went, but heard from Brenda, she has a flat tire but shell be here soon". Flat tire? Really? Come on. Honestly, how is this good, prompt professional service? Ignored by the receptionist (of all people! the only job is to TO GREET CUSTOMERS!) and then a no show from the stylist. Not great, Studio 1 Salon. Not great.

I made an appointment at Studio 1 after another salon in the Canton area had butchered my hair (literally - my cut and color were uneven and the ends of my hair were fried after they had to put bleach on it in attempt to lighten my hair that had turned nearly black after they left color on for far too long.) Richelle Rose was my stylist and she was INCREDIBLE. I told her what I didnt like about my hair (um, everything) and what I was hoping to do to it. She was so knowledgeable and she not only listened but also made some helpful suggestions (an inch off to salvage the quality of my hair; a deep conditioning treatment; highlights starting beneath the top layer to give it a more subtle, dimensional look). After an hour, I walked out of Studio 1 with the hair that I should have had after 6 hours (yes, SIX) at the other salon. Despite the abuse it had taken over the past week, my hair was soft, shiny and looking better than I ever expected it to look...and I didnt break the bank! (Definitely a much welcomed change from the previous salon I had been going to.) I am so beyond pleased with Richelle and the work that she does and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for amazing hair. Thank you Richelle!! :)

WARNING! I saw Patti yesterday for the first time ever using this salon. I brought 3 photos of exactly what I wanted. The color I wanted was a golden medium amber. Patti argued with me that I needed a darker shade because of fading. I chose a color, she said no, go darker. What I ended up with was electric Red! She added another color to tone it down. I also had highlights added. It was better, but not the color I wanted. I also lost 1/3 of my highlights because of the redo. I had 2 job interviews the next day and was really anxious about going to them like this. She charged me 25% less for service. I made it very clear this was not the correct color and was so upset I had to leave.. I think she used the wrong color by mistake and wouldnt own up to it. I called and spoke to owner and manager. Listened but basically said I shouldnt have left and that we picked out the color together. The color I chose was not neon red. Asked me to come back in. No! Ill pay for partial highlights, but not for neon red. Bottom line. They strong arm you out of what you want and do what they think is best. So beware!

I couldnt agree more with "ms" below. While the service was just fine, I had gone in for highlights and while applying what I thought was the lotion around my face, what he was applying was tint. I thought well, Ill go for it (as I had never gone with a tint before) and later realize that the color he applied was nowhere near my "usual" color, leaving me with an entirely different color from my roots and out a couple of inches. On top of that, the cut was positively amateurish. The stylist was the previous owner no less. He left a huge section of hair longer than the remainder of the cut in the back. Absolutely unbelievable. Not only will I NEVER be returning, but I plan to go back and ask for a refund. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Looking for a new salon w/ a great ambiance & an INCREDIBLE stylist?!? Go to Studio 1 Salon & ask for KRISTIE FREED! This girl is NO joke! Kristie is the absolute best. Ive never been so happy w/ my cut or color. I can walk in & tell Kristie I want to change my hair, "surprise me" and she does just that. I love it everytime & have never received so many compliments on my hair. I trust her & know that it will look fabulous. Shes super friendly & always has a smile on her face. If only Kristie was closer & I was rich....I would have Kristie blow out my hair every day. Every time I see her I say "I wish you could be my personal stylist....SOMEDAY!" Go see Kristie...I promise, you WONT be disappointed!

Tanya is amazing! I just came back from the salon and had a great experience. I am new to the Detroit-Metro area, and found this salon based on the other reviews that I read here. Tanya knows exactly what she is doing and did everything that I asked. My hair was down to my lower back and I wanted to get it cut to the middle of my back. She would ask me after she cut off a few inches how I felt about the length to make sure I was comfortable. The layers came out gorgeous- they flowed with one another and my hair looks healthy. My hair has never looked better. I will definitely come back to her next time. I would also like to point out that the prices are great!

I am so pleased with my recent visit to studio 1 I had been with my last stylist for several years buut she moved to Florida. I had been bouncing around from one stylist to another with no luck. Then I stopped by studio one, hoping to find someone good and my did I ever. I was fortunate to get aurora she was the best stylist I have been to in years. She knew exactly what I wanted when I described the type of cut Ive been wanting. She delivered big time. Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you in a couple weeks. Nice clean modern salon with a lot of stylist. Its a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. You will be satisfied I can assure you.
