I just had my wedding here and it was alright. I picked it because I really liked the atmosphere but I had problems with the staff. The owners wife was rude and lied to us frequently and many things went wrong at our wedding. We got the wrong food and things that they were suppose to "take care of" were wrong when we showed up at the reception. The serving staff were too quick- I didnt get to eat my cake or my ice cream because I set it down, turned around, and turned back and it was gone. My husband had to have 2 plates of food because they took his first before he was done with it. I heard from many of my guests that they would take full wine, water, or other drinking glasses because they had them on the table and when they came back from a dance they were gone. It was really irritating because I barely got to drink anything all night and when I did get some water I had to hold onto it or chug it immediately- both are not easy when people constantly want to hug and talk to you. Also, their guaranteed number of people is whatever they "set" the room for- when we booked we were told they allowed a 10% flux in guests for their prices, so dont believe that if they tell you. I also got a phone call about 20 days before the wedding saying that I had "missed my 30 day payment" which was not in our contract and never told to us and when I called back it was another "misunderstanding." I am 50/50 on recommending this place to anyone for a wedding- other functions may go more smoothly.

We absolutely LOVED the culinary experience from Mirage catering! We did a roast tenderloin carving station and also offered ‘Chicken Spiedini’ to our guests with an attended pasta station and salad bar – this was for our office Christmas party. I wish that I was a real food critic instead of just a layperson so I would be able to use the correct vernacular to adequately describe the flavors, texture, presentation, imagination and whatever else about the preparations from their Chef, Keith Gibbons. Chef Gibbons is not only knowledgeable about his profession but he is also very passionate and this is what makes his dishes so remarkable. The Mirage staff also deserves a lot of the credit for making our catered event so memorable. First of all, they are efficient and professional. Then, everyone was so impressed by their most elegant holiday table décor that they provided. It was like you would expect to see on a cruise ship or maybe in the front window of a holiday display at a Nordstroms! As I reminisce about the enjoyable holiday evening, I decided that the lavish décor was really almost a requirement to do justice to those amazing entrees. I would highly recommend Mirage catering to anyone who wants the very best!

April of 2013. I had guests from out of state. Took them to Easter brunch. I have gone to many Easter brunches in my time. This was the first one I had ever been to, that I had a BAD experience with. We had a reservation, we were 15 mins late, not knowing the area, I live in Lake Orion. Upon arriving I checked in at the table in the lobby. The worker told me our table number, but no one to direct you to your table, without seeking out someone to help us. Not impressive greeting. Well had the food been good I probably would not be writing this. Everyone in our party got special ordered omelets... all burnt! The fruit table was always empty. I requested reimbursement. I phone three times, no phone call was returned to me. I then called my bank, they notified Mirage my dispute. Mirage denied my reimbursement. They also sent a very insulting letter to my bank, it was forwarded to me. The letter, in large font, stated the I was clearly someone looking for free food. I have dined at high end restaurants, this was one on the extreme low end. There are many fine places to dine at in southeast michigan, this is not one of them.

I felt very unwelcome!! Our church held a fundraiser here and Im sorry we showed up!! The main parking lot was completely sealed off for "valet only" and anybody who wanted to park themselves was banished to the rear of the building 400ft from the front door!! REALLY?? We complained to the management and asked them to open up some of the parking lot for elderly drivers, but they refused!! Wine glasses and coffee cups were removed from the table just as dinner ended. Nobody could find a glass to pour a second wine or have a cup of coffee after dinner. Ive never seen anything like this!! We felt as if the wait staff wanted us gone by 9:00 PM. We had the hall till 12:00 AM!!!The food was raw, cold, and slimy! The chicken tasted like fish sticks and the beef tenderloin was impossible to chew!

I am so shocked to read some of these reviews, I am in the food business as well and why is it that everyone who post negative comments never leaves their names? I have attend, helped plan, delivered wedding cakes to, and help several parties at Mirage and I have NEVER had an issue. Not with staff or service, as for the comments regarding glasses being picked up at a reception; I guess you would also complain if they hadnt picked them up? The staff has no idea whos glass is whos and I have been to a reception where we had so many glasses on our table we had to walk them to the bar ourselves. Yes its frustrating but they are there to do a job, thank god they do theirs. Johnny Virginia and everyone else I truly appreciate you and your wonderful staff!

I had my wedding at the Mirage this summer and it was amazing! Our guests are still talking about how good the food was and we had so many people tell us that it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. Fred was great to work with and helped with many of the last minute details (making a sign for our signature cocktail when I forgot, finding chargers to replace broken ones delivered by the linen company, etc.). Im surprised at the comments below because I met with John DiGiuseppe and his wife, Virg, several times and they were more than accommodating and helpful. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Mirage for your wedding and other special events.

Went to this place for a fundraiser. The food was very just okay. Chicken was flavorless. I think it was a chicken piccatta. Really unimpressed by the "appetizers" they had veggie trays with just broccoli and cauliflower, and carrots. Does it get any weaker than that? haha. The servers were pretty good and efficient. I do not think I would ever book an event here. I need better food. All in all it wasnt terrible it just wasnt good. Very Average to below average from a food stand point

We visited Mirage for Mothers Day Brunch. My favorite of the offerings was the prime rib. Where else can one eat all you can eat prime rib and EVERYTHING else Mirage offered for $25.00. The waitstaff was attentive to our drink needs and cleared plates without much to any waiting. The food selections was very attractive with standard buffet fair, as well as some new twists like the "chefs specials". I would recommend this buffet - especially at the price point !
