Beware! All pitch, no delivery!!! We had Kearns out twice before signing a contract for new gutters and new insulation. The sales team member was prompt for the appt and knowledgeable about the products. We were charmed. Fast forward 6 months and the work was NOT completed, gutters only. Unanswered phone calls, emails filled with excuses (i.e. Too cold, crew not available, not scheduled appropriately, etc). Without notice 6.5 months later a 3rd party crew shows up at our door. We sent them away since we were fed up with Kearns lack of communication. The 3rd party vendor said to deal with them directly, cheaper and provided service directly. Kearns never mentioned they hire out their jobs, we were under the impression they did the work. A month later I received a bill for the gutter work, paid promptly, happy to be done with this company. Another month goes by and Michael Baker, our sales representative, sends me a threatening and insulting email about my overdue bill and implies Im being reported to collections. Not only had I paid and the company cashed the check, he couldnt even bother communicating over the phone to find out he made a huge error. Disgusted I replied. A week later Gary Kearns calls to touch base. He didnt even issue an apology just wanted to let me know he was embarrassed of his employee and his companys performance. Didnt sound like a very engaged owner or customer service provider. Stay away, poorly managed company without regard for their customers. Cant even manage accounts payables!!!

Kearns Brothers have provided me with outstanding service for several years, and have come to the rescue in some especially difficult situations. Id like to call out specifically Chuck Saltmarche, who has been my main contact over the years, and has come to feel like a friend even though I have never met him in person. While I own a property in Dearborn, I live more than 600 miles away in New Jersey. This has never posed a problem in working with Chuck, who is always readily accessible by email, phone, and even text message. Kearns first replaced my roof, and did a wonderful job. About two years later, a storm brought down a tree, and damaged the nice new roof. I reached out to Chuck, who sent someone over that same day to tarp the holes in the roof and protect from any further damage. Kearns then went on to replace the roof again, as well as the siding. I came back to Kearns again to replace a section of the driveway, and the concrete front porch, again with outstanding quality of results. When I had a need for a job that was outside the scope of what Kearns does, Chuck was incredibly helpful in pointing me to someone else in the area who could help. I simply cannot put into words how impressed I have been with Kearns Brothers, and with the service of Chuck Saltmarche. Taking care of a property from a long distance can be very difficult, but being able to rely on Kearns through the years has helped tremendously.

Truly a terrible company though a terrific example of why people have such a poor opinion of contractors. They replaced some windows and put aluminum siding on my trim and hung new gutters and downspouts. Work quality? Fine for the most part, though I had one simple issue. Within a year some downspouts pulled away from the house. Not a huge deal, I didnt even call them for nearly a year until the wind vibrations just became too annoying. I called my sales rep and when he returned my message he was the rudest most condescending person I have every dealt with. When "Snotty" called me back he immediately said in a very angry tone of voice was "Youre telling me MY gutters are falling off your house?" I actually felt threatened and called the main office and told them I didnt want this person anywhere near me or my house. They said they would have someone else address the problem then I again get called from "Snotty". Unbelievable. I eventually called and spoke with Gary and his attitude was that it was some sort of joke and that I was some unreasonable customer. Bottom line - dont expect anything from this company once they have your money. And avoid angry people who fly off the handle and companies that condone such outrageous behavior. Avoid Kearns like the plague. And it is interesting that the owner of a company can post a 5-star review of himself!

If I could give zero I would!! I have storm damage to my roof. I received the estimate from Rudy Mendez, he appeared to be professional and polite. He explained the system of roofing he suggested as well as the needed replacement of my roof. He told me about the advocacy program whereby Kearns will speak with the insurance company on my behalf. Right after we met, I had to travel for work. 2 days after returning, my mother suddenly died. After the shock and trying to adjust, I called my insurance company and Rudy. My insurance company immediately sent an adjuster. Rudy did not return numerous calls from the adjuster nor I. When I did speak with Rudy he stated that he was very busy on a big job. He apologized and promised to speak with adjuster since I did sign the advocate form. He promised to speak with me by Friday. When I reached out on Monday he made more excuses and claimed that he did not receive the documents from the adjuster. Over 1 week later I received an email from Rudy, stating that because the adjuster spoke highly of Kearns, that he did not try and assist or advocate for me. Right now there is a tarp on my roof that the adjuster had placed to prevent further damage. Now I have to start all over and find someone to be honest and fair to repair my damaged roof. I would not recommend Kearns Brothers to anyone.

We reached out to Kearns to build out a basement with multiple rooms, and a full bath. They were prompt and straightforward from the start. Keith visited with us and worked with our goals while offering some great insight to maximize the space. Naturally we obtained a competing quote but Kearns won out! Our site foreman and head carpenter was Brant. He and his crew were outstanding. They communicated with us daily on plan, progress and any hurdles. What really surprised us was attention to detail and willingness to work in some design elements that we came up with, as the job was in progress. Ended up adding special tile to the bath, and a barn wood accent wall and ceiling! It must be mentioned that through most of the build out my wife was home on bed rest expecting our second child. They were cordial and accommodating, kept their path through the home clean and they even brought in packages off the porch! The job completed within the planned timeline and on budget despite our special requests. We now have a lower level that is a continuation of our upper floors, complete with family room, bedroom, full bath with stone shower, storage room and utility. Kevin Range and the Kearns team are an amazing group of professionals that I was fortunite to work with. I previously had to deal with other construction companies and the experience lacked the superb experience, timely response and professionalism that this raputable company had. Kevin Range and the team is the kind of team you need by your side espesially when your dealing with insurance companies that likes to collect and not pay out ( ALL OF THEM!). During this process I understood that I was vulnerable to the insurance because I didnt know how to present my case and rather found out very quickly that Kevin knew how to truly investigate and identify my damages and guide me to a professional repair that is warrantied for a long time. I honestly knew that I finally found the right company from the time the receptionists intakes the case to the time we met with Kevin to the time we were able to mitigate the damages at a safely and timely matter. I honestly recommend you dont waste your time with other companies that are not able to meet these standards because the consequence is that the integrity of your home, business and wallet.. can be at stake.
