Im not from the area and my car battery randomly died while visiting town. Josh, the owner, as well as one of the technicians both tried to jump the car for me free of charge just because theyre nice guys. It didnt end up working at first, but they offered to take my car into their shop to further assist me without hesitation. I think what I like the most about Josh and his team at Tuffy is how friendly they are with every customer while simultaneously being very professional and upfront about the cost of repairs. Josh immediately provided me multiple estimates for the different scenarios that potentially could have caused my car troubles. Whats more impressive, though, is he had already prepared them for me before I had walked through their front door. I got the chance to chat with Josh while he attempted to jump my car and he treated me like an old friend. He never seemed rushed or disinterested while he worked with me and even wanted to make sure I had a way back to Ann Arbor when he realized they might have to wait to look at it until the morning. While I waited in their lobby to give them my information and do some paperwork I got to witness Josh provide what I can only describe as the absolute best face-to-face customer service Ive ever witnessed. I noticed this area is a very diverse area based solely on the wide variety of individuals who came through the door. With each new (or returning) face, Josh grew friendlier and more understanding. He would tell each customer what they could do to fix their current issue, and would tell them any additional issues that may creep up within the next few months that should be addressed. While most auto-body shops Ive been to would tell someone (or me) they need to fix these things right then and there (I assume to make money), Josh would provide his customers with an actual timeline on when these additional repairs needed to be made. He even would offer his own vehicles or to purchase an Uber for is local clients that they would need to take their car overnight. Ive never been to a business ran like this, and I say that in the best possible way imaginable. Ive actually been inspired to rethink and retool my own customer experience from this experience. Josh, thank you. For being so kind to a stranger, a friend to your neighbor, and an inspiration/model to everyone in the world on what true customer experience is all about. Just to add a cherry on top to the whole situation, this happened at 5pm when they close at 6pm. They actually ended up replacing my battery before they closed. Now thats what I call satisfaction guaranteed.

Ive came to this shop for years but the last two times have been interesting experiences. Ive watched the new owner (Josh) provide less than stellar courtesy to the customers that come into his shop. So much that at times it can seem to be borderline disrespectful but that all depends of you have thick skin or not. One phone call I overheard between him and a customer seemed pretty intense, to the point where he tried to hurry the customer to come in and told them that they couldnt wait for their own car inside his shop.. LOL. So its my turn to pick up and leave. Ol Josh in cocky fashion tells me its time to take my money which was only 75.00. (I was prepared to spend 10x as much). So since I didn’t need new brakes and only paid for the oil change that was 95.00 last time I asked if they put the right number of quarts in my engine LS3 requires 8. Josh wasnt sure at first but said hes sure they did and later tells me to just shut up (pay and sign here). Normally I would reach across the table but I was more concerned about talking to the mechanic who worked on my car to get some answers which I did. The actual mechanic was great and answered everything I needed. (only reason for a 3 star review). So it sounds like I was under charged the number of quarts because someone wasnt paying attention to specifications LOL... Shut up and take my advice Josh, if you dont pay anything else PAY ATTENTION and stop texting. Its not often assholes can save you money

The staffs here are friendly and helpful. However, Im here to share my own experience w/o adding any subjective opinion: I visited this location two days ago because my check engine light went off. I had to do a long distance driving on the same day, so I didnt want to take any risks that the car might break down in the middle of nowhere. The mechanic did the test, and the store manager stated it was the air flow motor/sensor that needed to replace. Then he made the phone call to their supplier to check the stock since the shop doesnt have it. The manager gave me a quote stating its an expensive part, itll be $422.99 (please note this is just the part itself), and I did agree to get the part (At that time I didnt have much luxury to shop around because I need to hit the road asap). After everything paid in full, I checked the receipt in details and look up the part number directly, the most expensive price Ive seen so far is $233.99. There could be so many different factors added in to the fact my quote for the part was almost double compare to the auto parts big box stores, I wont go to the details of what I think about the calculation of the quote simply because everyone needs to get a cut in the supply chain ( and it applies to all industries). I will just make sure I do more homework before I do any serious repair done.

I usually never write reviews but for this experience I just had to. If youre looking for great service and an amazing staff dont look any further! I called around a few places and I was recommend to call Tuffys on Halstead rd from my brother In-law. They were able to help answer all my questions right away. I had booked an appt for my oil change because of the great price as well as convenient hours. When I got there somehow the dates by accident were mixed up. However Josh who is the owner apologized gave me a free synthetic oil change due to the mixup and was able to get my in right away. While I sat there and new customer came in and out with needing to get different things done to their car or either quotes from another place Josh was able to beat it every quote and help accommodate them the same day! He also had old customers that came in and he knew exactly who they were, which was really impressive. You really really could see he truly cares about the customers that come in the and not just trying to make a quick buck off of them. If youre looking for a place to go to thats honest, fast, cares about their customers and clean go here you wont regret it!!

I checked the reviews and chose this place. I am relatively new in auto world. I wanted to do oil change, replace the rear break bulb and change all tires for my ford focus 2010. They had 19.99$ oil change coupon on their site. when I visited them, this guy told me my car needs special oil and that would cost more. He came up with 40$ just for oil change, and on the bill he added 5 quantity of MAXLIFE 5W20 API SN, which is for 17.74$ in Walmart. Next thing was bulb, he come up with 3$ for bulb + 47$ for labor(Is it worth?) = 50$ and told me it would take around 45 mins to change the bulb, Youtube has a video of 7 mins for the same. Thank god, I refused to do it. I went to Auto Zone, I had to purchase 7$ two bulbs as it doesnt come single and they replaced it free of cost in front of me, wow. Now tires, he offered me 205/55R16 T ALTIMAX RT43 tires with 50$ rebate, 121.99 *4= 487$, the same tire in Walmart with free shipping is for 82$* 4= 328$, is 159$ worth for labor to change tires? After all this, I wonder lots of people have given 5 stars, seriously?something is.... You better judge.
