Id rate this company 0 stars if possible. If youre thinking of hiring them RUN THE OTHER WAY!! In Jan 2008 my furnace was failing & I hired Terry Allen to replace it. On Jan 30th, they came to install my new furnace but it didnt work. Repairman tried to fix it on Feb 7th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th & 14th. It had now been 2 weeks & I was still in the cold!! I was told it was "cycling to fast" among other excuses. They sent out an engineer on Feb 15th to evaluate the situation & he said the furnace needed to be re-piped. That was done on Feb 18th & 20th but it didnt help. On Feb 26th I was told there was a blocked valve, then on Feb 28th I was told the problem was due to "insufficient radiator length throughout my house". What BS!!! The sales rep inspected & measured my existing system when he made the quote & there had been no problem with the "radiator length" for my previous furnace. Terry Allen was getting desperate to find new excuses for their incompetence and I was freezing every night!! Im convinced that the problem was that they installed an undersized furnace that couldnt handle my house & they wouldnt admit it because it would mean starting over. Finally on March 1st - one MONTH after the first installation date - they said the only way my house would ever heat up to a living temperature would be for them to install 2 fan coil heaters that would cost an additional $1,102. They refused to cover the cost (although they did give me a discount) because they were blaming my "insufficient radiator length" for all the problems & ignoring all the other "explanations" Id been given along the way! It was blackmail! They knew it was freezing out, that Id already invested a month of my time working with them to solve the problem and that my only choices were to start over with another company or let them install the fans! I caved in & on April 9th they installed the fans, my house was warm again & I hoped never to have to deal with Terry Allen ever again!! Fast forward to present time - one of the 2 fan coil heaters started making an awful noise. On Oct 30, 2015 a technician came out, adjusted it (which stopped the noise) & said it may need a new blade in the near future. He was right, the noise came back and on Feb 10, 2016 the same technician came out & replaced the fan blade. He said then that if the noise came back Id probably need to replace the motor. It stayed quiet until last week. On Nov 23rd I called & spoke to the receptionist. I gave her all the details - the name of the previous technician, what he did, what he said, the model & serial numbers of the fan - everything she could have needed to make sure the technician was prepared to make the repair. The first appointment I could make was for today (Nov 30th) & when he arrived the technician confirmed the problem. "The motor is frozen up & needs to be replaced BUT the manufacturer no longer makes that motor & I was only given your job this morning so Im still waiting on a quote for a replacement motor". WTF - I provided all the necessary information a week ago! There should have been plenty of time to get a quote, get the part & be ready to do the repair on the day scheduled!! Now I have to rework my schedule to set another appointment whenever the motor happens to arrive. When I called to complain the manager I talked to basically said "thats just not how Terry Allen works. We cant just order a part until the technician confirms whats needed." Well obviously the technician did know what was needed, based on the research he did before he arrived at my house, he just didnt have time to get all the information, let alone order a new motor, because he was only given the information on the day of my appointment. What was happening for the rest of the week?? All I got from the manager was "sorry for your inconvenience" but he took no responsibility for what happened just as the managers 8 yrs ago took no responsibility for the fiasco that was the installation of my furnace. NEVER use this company, you will regret it!!!

I had a problem with my furnace only blowing cold air. I kind of had an idea about what was wrong but as far as fixing it, it was all Latin to me. I called Terry Allen the next morning and had them come out and take a look. A serviceman named Roy showed up and immediately went to work checking my Goodman furnace. I told him that I thought it was one of the limit switches and he helpfully agreed. He then checked every switch with me and we finally found the source of the problem (the hardest switch to get to of course). During the whole service, Roy was very helpful and open minded to the whole situation. He could have easily tried to sucker me into replacing each switch or replacing the circuit board but instead he simply reset my existing switch. I appreciate good, old fashion, straight to the point service and would highly recommend Terry Allen for any furnace repair in the future. Thank you very much

Had terrible experience with them. Got a quote and eventually went with them to replace my boiler. Every step of the process was botched. They didnt have all the necessary parts for the installation. They forgot to install some parts. First night the boiler did not work. They never had the installation inspected. Had to have another contractor come out to inspect their work. Other contractor gave me a long list of all the issues wrong with installation. Had Terry Allen come back out, they still did not fix all the problems. Had to give up because of the cost. Never use this company for boiler installs.

Plumber was very nice BUT services were over priced. My bathtub was draining slow so I called someone out. The guy came into my bathroom and said Im gonna try plunging it first to see if that helps because thats the cheapest thing to try first. If this works its gonna cost you around 109. All he did was plunge my bathtub and took a hairball the size of a penny out of my drain and charged me 120. He wasnt even here 5 minutes. I asked about him coming back out free of charge if it clogged again (bc he barely did anything) and he said they dont do that. DONT CALL THEM!

Done business with Terry Allen for a few decades or more. Always did what was expected. Always cleaned up afterward and got the job done. Not sure what OP are reviewing, but Ive never had any problems with them and Ive had 2 ACs installed in 2 houses, a sewer line/tiles replaced, and sewer line fixed inside (not to mention a few small jobs) Cost is high as with other plumbers, but competitive. Customer support has been good to great the few times I needed it.
