GREAT SALESMEN! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! BUT terrible auto service. I loved Tuffy growing up, I went to the location in Fowlerville and the service was great! Dont let this Tuffy get you thinking each one is terrible. I am a young college student, I actually live over 100 miles away from this Tuffy, however, my hometown is near Jackson and I used their services for the car I was going to drive up to where I live now. I knew there was something iffy about this place, but I didnt want to think wrong of this places because of the vibes I was getting, who knew? Right? Initially my grandfather called a week ahead to make sure we could bring in my car, have it FULLY inspected and fix whatever we could THAT DAY because I was in desperate need of a vehicle. The technician he spoke with set up the appointment. We came in on the scheduled day and the OWNER looked at us and said we didnt make an appointment! We told him we called, he went in back and spoke with someone, and he apologized but bluntly told my grandfather that he must have not been clear about getting things done because the tech said we were just wanting an inspection. B.S. We shrugged and said we needed to have it FULLY inspected and what could be done, done by today. The owner seemed a bit put off but agreed. We left and received a call while out about what the shop found and my grandpa agreed to pay for what they could do. We were told itd be ready by 5PM. I came later that day around 5PM to pick it up. They had replaced my dual exhaust system (one muffler only fake for looks) and replaced it with a cheap single muffler, which I wasnt happy about since there was nothing actually wrong with my system. My suspension seemed more sensitive (even though the owner drove my car and said it was "much smoother.") And they replaced two of my tires, they expressed concern over one, which they already replaced, because it had dry rot. There were a number of issues, but nothing dangerous. 3 weeks later I am leaving work and see someone left a note on my window "REAR PASSENGER TIRE FLAT." While putting on the spare, I noticed DRY ROT, in my flat. OBVIOUS DRY ROT. DRY ROT, which SHOULD have been seen if the car was F-U-L-L-Y inspected, as per request. AGAIN, I am over 100 miles away from ANYONE, ANY HELP, I spent 3 hours trying to figure out what to do because my car jack wouldnt work. I also drive my entire way to work on the FREEWAY! A dangerous and BUSY freeway. What if it blew while driving? Well I was upset, but not raging yet, I left a voicemail asking for a call back. I waited a few days, finally got a call, AT 8AM...MY FIRST day off in a week and a half. Not that they would know, however, most people arent awake yet! NOW HERE COMES THE FUNNY PART! The owner said he was the one guy we met that day we came in, he said that MY GRANDPA and him walked outside to look at the car AFTER it was inspected to show him this dry rot tire and that my grandpa ACTUALLY told him that hed only want to TWO tires replaced and that the dry rot wasnt in a hurry. ONE PROBLEM! My grandpa and I NEVER WENT BACK AFTER THE INSPECTION! Only me! What LIES?! My grandpa would NEVER let me drive a damn car without tires that werent SAFE. He doesnt even like the fact I DRIVE over 55MPH! I am beyond upset at this point...

I watched my neighbor kid, at age 12, when he took a lawn mower that was trash, rebuilt it in 4 hours, and then mowed his lawn with it. I knew right then, he would become a mechanic. And today, he is, and has worked at Tuffy of Jackson for well over a decade. He knows cars and trucks, inside and out, and hes my trusted mechanic, and also the only person I let touch any of my vehicles. If anyone knows the mechanic of a vehicle, its Tim Segar, and everyone who works at Tuffy of Jackson. Ive met them all, Ive been in the service bays, Ive seen them work, Ive talked to each of them, and I can tell you that me being 62 I know a lot about cars and trucks, and they know what their talking about when it comes servicing your car, truck, and if they did motorcycles, those too. I bought a truck from Dan, and that truck has hauled my motorcycle, and pulled a camper from Jackson to Myrtle Beach, Daytona Beach, Key West, St Louis, Davenport Iowa, and about every point in between, and many times. My vehicles get serviced at Tuffy of Jackson, or they dont get serviced, period. Im 62, and never in my life, have I trusted an auto service center like I do Tuffy of Jackson. Thats my stand, my advice, take it or leave it, cause Ive been there, done that.

Mixed feelings as these guys have been relatively honest and recommended I not do work I requested on 2 occasions. They felt I just didnt need replacement yet. Very friendly and courteous. However, last visit they shocked me with a $1200 quote for front strut replacement. I left and ended up just doing it myself for $250.

Ive taken many cars over many years to Tuffy in Jackson. Ive always received excellent customer service and excellent service on my vehicles. Ive never felt Ive been overcharged; in fact, I think they do their best to try to save their customers money. Theyre honest, reliable and provide great service for my vehicles!

As a customer of Dan and his entire staff at Tuffys, they All are Top Notch and that goes for their work done as well. They go above and beyond to work with a customer on all levels of their services and costs. I can surely attest to that fact. Good service and honesty means a Whole Lot! They wont disappoint!

I have been a very happy customer since 1999. The customer service is excellent. I trust the guys there and have found them all to be knowledgable and of the highest integrity. They have always done right by me and work in a very timely manner. They go the extra mile every time. I highly recommend Tuffy!

Hi I had a problem with a damaged muffler for my generator. Although these folks could not repair it, they did take it apart for me, removing the still-functional exhaust pipe. This while I was treated to a cup of coffee and todays Citizen Patriot to read. Recommended highly. mjh Parma
