I was in a rush and needed myself and my co-workers suits cleaned for a very important meeting. I brought in two suits and picked up two disasters. Both were COVERED in white hairs everywhere, long blond hairs, white blotches, out of place creases, and to top it off LOOSE THREADS. None of this was present when I brought them in. I had the meeting the next day so I didnt have time to take it elsewhere. I had to spend hours cleaning and brushing them down myself, which is what I paid this horrible excuse for a business to do. I called in the day after to demand a refund and spoke with a manager. The customer service is as bad as the job they do. Incompetent, snappy, and rude cashiers and managers who would only offer a redo. Why would I take the suit they destroyed back to them? The manager was too much of an idiot to comprehend this and just kept repeating the redo offer. I told her I was planning on taking them to court for the price of the suits (close to $700, both of which were almost un-wearable) and lost time. Here is her reply: "That is your choice". A small $30 refund vs dealing with court? How is this person a manager?? I see that other people on here have had the same problems so that should tell you enough. If this pathetic, hole in the wall, wreck attempts to pass itself off as a busines then I have lost sight of what a business is.

Ive been here several times to wash a giant king sized comforter that got barfed on by one (or both, for that matter) of our two dogs. Yes, this place may charge a little more. But its so worth it! The machines are new and have all the features you might need (ie cold, hot, warm rinse. Extra rinse etc. You do have to pay extra for these features, btw). The machines are fast and thats what youre probably paying for. If theres a problem, theres always an attendant either doing the "drop-off, wash and fold" customers or cleaning the machines. I never experienced a problem, so I never had to ask anyone for a solution. So I cant rate the attendants helpfulness (or lack of). Plus the cafe and tables make waiting kind of fun. In fact, I played on my laptop while I was waiting. Theres a lot of outlets for chargers as well. The place gets PACKED weekend afternoons. The first time I went around 12noon and had to wait around for a machine. It got a little stressful and annoying :) Second visit that was around 5pm was less stressful. Walked in and got a machine right away. I recommend going as late as you can. T

The laundry mat is always clean, and its a comfortable atmosphere. Ive had to wait at the dry cleaning counter upwards of 10 minutes on several occasions. The soap machines frequently jam. The washers and dryers do a great job. Theyre fast and efficient, and there are plenty of folding tables and spare hangers available. Lately it seems like more and more washers are down for routine maintenance, and will stay out of use for a few weeks because every week I see the same signs on the same machines. The service at the cafe on weekend mornings has always just been ok. The stock and selection of their baked goods is hit and miss. Their Sunday hours are listed as opening at 8, however for the last month theyve been opening at 10, and no one seems to know why. They didnt even bother changing the info on the door or website, and finally after a month put a hand written sign at the cafe register. Not a great way to treat your costumers.

Sheldon Cleaners of Holland on 125 Douglas has been returning dress shirts with NO starch. I complained but it didnt change. Yesterday, I picked up a wool/cashmere dress mens coat and paid 15.75 but it wasnt cleaned!! Lint and a single drop of egg yolk (something easily removed with general cleaning) still in place. They are NOT cleaning the clothes!! Beware of this facility in Holland, I am filing a police report today and filing an attorney general complaint, they are taking money without providing a service and its happened multiple times = FRAUD!! When called lady yelled at ME!! telling me I was wrong and they would "reclean it" - wow, offering to finally actually clean something!! (once caught...). Posted here because she said to contact 3000 Breton with my complaints - because thats what I signed up to do, help run Sheldon cleaners...

I went to this location on advice from a friend who had wonderful things to say. I questioned it, I mean, come on! Its a laundrymat. Really? This place is great! Approximately 25 loads of laundry DONE in an hour and a half including folding. 10 loads of laundry in a single machine for about $12 & took 22 minutes. The dryer was only 15 minutes and just 55 cents! I also had a fantastic crepe from the cafe and kiwi lemonade. This is not your typical dirty smelly laundrymat! This place is great! I used hate doing laundry! Up and down my stairs with the heavy baskets, bending to load, unload and fold.... I honestly got to a point where I just washed what I was going to wear.... it was a mess. Now I just hate doing laundry at home, I love doing laundry at Sheldons. ;)

We all know what it feels like to get behind on laundry. It just gets easier to throw darks and lights in two huge machines that can handle WEEKS worth of laundry. Then, its done. All the while, they have wifi, coffee, food - everything while everything is in the washer and dryer. So you can multi-task or just relax while ALL of your laundry is getting done. I love it. It can be pricey, the dryers take longer than Id like, but overall, its a great concept and I dont mind forking out a few extra dollars to get myself caught up on laundry with a bunch of luxuries around me while I do. That said, whatever you do - make sure you dont forget your laundry detergent. Otherwise, you will pay and arm and a leg at the door for it!

Absolutely terrible. Dropped off @11am for same day service. Called at 915pm to ask if it was finished. Was told it was. Drove 15 minutes to pick up. Turns out shirt was not done and I was "one of many" to have this issue today. Not very apologetic. Compd the shirt only. I asked to just give me the shirt back so I can clean it myself. Said she wouldnt be able to find it. Said she doesnt know what time itll be done tomorrow. I will be an hour away for the rest of the week so now I have to drive two hours out of the way for the shirt. Didnt seem to care. THIS IS FOR A WEDDING. Avoid this place

A Sheldon Cleaners employee with positive employment reviews and no complaints attended the peaceful Anti Trump Protest n Downtown Grand Rapids. Her boss approached her and asked her if she treated people of all political persuasions the same. Of course she answered. She was fired that day. Not sure if lies were spread about her but Sheldon Cleaners did not give the employee more information or allow her to defend herself. It is a civil right of all Americans to exercise their freedom of speech . I will not be using this business as freedom in America is very important to me.
